Catch an exclusive sneak peek at the first seven-minutes of the upcoming Disney XD animated series Star Wars Rebels TONIGHT (Monday, August 4th) immediately following Phineas and Ferb: Star Wars on Disney XD!

Star Wars Rebels continues the epic tradition of the legendary Star Wars saga with all-new exciting, action-packed adventures.   It is a dark time in the galaxy, as the evil Galactic Empire tightens its grip of power from world to world.  As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people.  The clever and motley crew of the starship Ghost is amongst a select few who are brave enough to stand against the Empire. Together, this ragtag group will face threatening new villains, encounter colorful adversaries, embark on thrilling adventures and become heroes with the power to ignite a rebellion.

Scheduled to premiere this October as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, it will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.

It’s a much smoother style than TCW, which will take some getting used to – Filoni has said that he wanted to emulate the facial animation from Tangled, which seems to be the case.

I liked seeing the Jogan fruit from TCW; I’m guessing that it’s the same animation asset. Apparently people on Coruscant pronounce it with a hard “J,” and people on Lothal pronounce it like “yogan.” Must be a regional thing. :p

Some of the dialogue felt a bit on-the-nose, but at least we’re not hearing anything like “Artooie” from TCW’s early episodes yet.

Thanks for adding the video, they had the wrong link last night.

I was surprised at how unlikable Ezra was, everything else was fun but Ezra really pushed the snottiness up a few notches, and I found myself not wanting to spend time with him. I noticed his voice actor had an attitude at the Rebels panel at SDCC too, maybe that’s what they were looking for.
