I don't get it. Those are cool looking posters, but very expensive. Don't think it's worth it. At least to me.
So, what makes this so interesting? Is this like a "Where's Waldo" thing?
Please clue the rest of us in.

Yeah nice posters...
I want to take you back to when Steve was auctioning his TF Vader (no not a bash Steve reference), remember how he had a mass of abuse as a webmaster for that from certain cricles? There is a connection with this auction... do some digging. You'll love it when you find it.
There is a lot to say about this auction actually, if anyones interested?

Ditto
The only things I notice that makes it 'interesting' is that these same images were posted on the front page of starwars.com. Sorry I see no obvious connection to the SSG Vader auction either.

The seller is in disguise... his true ID can be found by doing a little research on ebay and cross referencing with a 'popular' collecting site.
The phrase 'pot calling the kettle black' comes to mind in conection to Steve's TF Vader auction...
Sorry for being cryptic, but I want people to realise that the dark side is hard to see ;)
Christ! Just say it. I looked, and I have no clue who you are talking about. Just spill it.

I didn't find the proof, but with the clues given by The Private Universe I can figure it out. This auction must belong to a UK based informative Star Wars site. Chances are that same site insulted Sir Steve when he was selling his friends NY TF Vader.
I don't know what it is about all the "Big Boys" not being able to get along. I guess friendly competition has grown into a bit of childish rivalry. Reminds me of Cheers when Sam always had those competitions against that other bar.

At last you will reveal the answer to the forums, at last we will know what the heck you're talking about. ;)

What goes around, comes around. ;)
Thanks to JediTricks for the keen thinking on this one...

Oh, so it's someone from Rebelscum? One of the sites that slammed Steve so hard over the Vader thing? Talk about being two faced. Very intresting. :D

If you click the shades icon next to the sellers name 'eyeball96' and then click the find members link, paste 'eyeball96' into the user ID history box... you will find the previous ID of 'tataouinetours'... Does that have a conection to a certain site?
The site in question isn't a UK one... but the person is from the UK...
If I just tell you who then you will say I made it up to have a go at them, so I want you to find it yourself to prove what they are like. I had a bad feeling when I fell onto this... and I dug till I gathered all the info.

Bingo!
Easier than I got it too.
Our friend from that site was one of the first to make public and run down Steve's auction of TF Vader. Now he is at it himself, and with a rather nice ebay today on June 11th to boost his bids...
If the posters are from a legit source they would have been free, no cost... However all posters NOT used were returned, and NON were given away, as they were under strict instruction not too. This is what I was told today by the people resonsible for the posters being put up... make of it what you will. I think you all know how tight the rules are on things like shop displays etc being returned and not given away. Same with the posters...
I think it is staff like this that are giving that certain site a bad reputation... I wouldn't put up with it...

Of course this will be laughed off by a certain site as all made up by Steve... or me... we are horrible people.
Shame more people won't see this and realise what certain people put first...

eBay Today: UK Exclusive AOTC Bus Posters
Dave: Wow. Today’s auction has piles of excellence dumped on top of it! The only fair way to look at it is as such:
1: They’re POP!
For those of you who don’t read this column on at least a monthly basis may not know what POP is, so let us waste no time wondering. POP is the industry standard abbreviation for Point Of Purchase and describes promotional matterial used to prompt sales interest. Even though these posters were not used on a retail level they were still produced for the sole purpose of promoting a product (Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones’s theatrical release) so they still fit into the POP category.
2: They’re International!
Unless you live in Great Britain or within walking (swimming) distance, these are not and will not ever come to your country, and therefore the chances of your buddies having a set are slim. As any smart collector knows rare items, which International stuff usually is on a domestic scale, make for great conversational pieces.
3: They’re Ultra-super-almost-stupid Limited!
With a production run of 500 sets (containing of four posters), a complete set is and will always be hard to come by. When you consider that many were damaged by either bad weather, vandalism, or faulty theft attempts, and of those still intact have either made it to a collector, ended up in someone’s basement, or were simply destroyed once returned to the distributor, you can see that the 500 count is no longer accurate. Bottom line is these posters are exceptionally limited and there is no way that supply will ever meet demand.
4: They’re for Attack Of The Clones!
…And I doubt I’m the only person in the Star Wars Generation that considers AOTC to be the best 2 ˝ hours of Star Wars yet, so my opinion is set.
Final Word
With all that is said above, it is this writer’s opinion that this auction may be the best one all year. Even if you aren’t in the market for these mega sweet posters, it may serve you well to take a peek anyhow.

The article doesn't mention the seller is actually a member of staff... wonder why? I think this is a disgusting way to treat your site visitors. No respect for them... surely the webmaster can't support this sort of behaviour? If he does that should be made public to avoid any misunderstanding in future.

Of course, when this certain person was running down Steve he made sure it was passed onto a number of forums and sites so they knew... It would be only right to repeat that with this information we have found about him wouldn't it?
LTBasker
06-17-2002, 06:16 PM
No it actually wouldn't be right. The TF Vader issue wasn't right, and he had no right to pass around anything. It's just something that would fuel another in-the-open insult war which just hurts the collector community in the end.

Just make it clear I am not Steve's best friend or anything. I posted this here as I knew how he had been treated by this person so I wanted him and others here to see that they were two faced...
I don't think that spreading falsehoods, smearing someones reputation etc is right no, as I have been treated to that from the certain person myself for the last year or more. However when there is proof that this sort of person is doing something they shouldn't when they pretend to be whiter than white, it is fair that others know the truth.
