I was just curious, I have a lot of MOC star wars from all years, but they are just in boxes. Do any of you have any suggestions on nice ways to display them? Glass cases, wall displays, I'm up for any suggestions. Also, like how much should I be looking at to spend on such a case/display, and where can I get it? Thanks for your suggestions.

I don't think a case would be good for MOC figs. You'll have a hard time finding one big enough. Now if you had loose figs that you no longer wanted to dust every 2-3 months:rolleyes: then I would suggest a case.

If they are MOC I would suggest hanging them. But if they are vintage I would also suggest "Star Cases" or other protective cases for the figs first. MOst of my stuff is MOMC b/c its easier for me to display. See here:

POTF 2 (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/forums/attachment.php?s=&postid=91265)

As you can see, I have a very large case. I got that for free at my store. Its one of the old cases for video games. We got all new cases in and for helping set it all up one night, I got this case. That's the best thing to do. Look for buisnesses going out of buisness, or remolding and ask if they are going to re-use those cases. The last case I had was a sunglasses case that I got at a vision center, for free! They were going to throw it away!!

If anybody else has some pictures of their SW displays, I'd like to see them.

Here's an on-topic post I made in the "Show me your .... COLLECTION!" thread to a question regarding some pics of my collection which I posted in that thread. To avoid having to type it again, here's my finest cut n' paste job.

OK, Sith_Killer:

Yes, the mini-figs are in HotWheels/Matchbox cases. They are made by www.jakestoychest.com - way better than the Protech ones. Neither fit the figures EXACTLY, but the ones by Jake's hold more of the card. (The HW/MB cases are a TAD too big.)

The Masters of the Dark Side 2-pack is in a Starting Line Up (SLU) case by Jake's. This case fits all of the POTF, POTJ, EP1 and Saga 2-packs EXCEPT: POTF Leia's; POTJ Luke/Bacta and Leia/Cannon; EP1 Electronic Accessory Sets (Gungan cannon and some other thingie); or Saga Nexu. These cases are, again, FAR SUPERIOR to any case made by Protech.

Each of my POTF, POTJ, and EP1 figures are in Star Wars Protectors made, again, by Jake's. They are more sturdy and hold a greater portion of the card than the Protech Star Cases and don't have that flimsy triangle-shaped hook thingie at the top of them.

However, they do not hold any of the Saga figures or either EP1 Destroyer Droids. For those, you'll need the Protech Star Case 2's. I have bought mine from: http://www.stores.ebay.com/id=328759
John is the dude. He's a great guy who sells at great prices! Check him out.

For the 2-packs that are not held by Jake's SLU cases, you need the Star Case SLU 2 or SLU 3's. They are a BIT too big, height-wise, but other than that work great.

Jake tells me that he's in the process of making his great Protectors big enough for the Saga figures. I'd either get a handful of the Star Case 2's to hold you over until then, or just wait for him to get his newer Protectors done.

I have a great relationship with Jake of Jake's Toychest and I can POSSIBLY get some samples of his cases sent to a select few of you guys - you paying shipping and handling, of course. If I get enough requests, I'll take those requests to him. Not to harp on it too much, but his cases are soooo much better than Star Cases. If you try one, you'll see why I say that.

Hope everyone enjoys!!

As for keeping your carded figures clean, keep them in plastic protectors. That way, you can take a damp cloth and clean the CASE without having to worry about any damage coming to your carded figure by CONTINUALLY wiping that sucker off.

As for loose figures, there is no way that I can think of to keep dust off of 'em. I dust mine off every couple of months. But, those dust mites are having fun climbing Mt. Maul and having a picnic on the summit, so it ruins everything for them when you dust!

First off thanx everyone for the praise on the collection. I know its not very large but I like it. I will take some close-up shots soon so you can see a bit better:D

As far as dusting goes. I just get some Swiffer or Pledge Grab-Its. But make sure they are NON-SCENTED!!!!! They work the best to remove dust. You don't have to press very hard on the bubble and there is no liquid of any sort:D
