View Full Version : Favorite Slot machine??

I have noticed that many of us are above the legal gambling age of 21 and am wondering how many of us frequent the casinos. If you do what is your absolute favorite slot machine?
I have been doing awesome on IGT's Enchanted Unicorn. A 20 line slot machine. A couple months ago I put $10 in one and won $1,054. The same day I won another $300 and $350 on those same machines. I got one up to $400 at the Sunset Station casino in Vegas. :D Last month I got one up to $400. I only bet one credit per line. Yes I've been VERY lucky on them. And yes I make sure I come home with most of my winnings. ;)

Even though I'm below the legal age of gamblingI do suggest playing the machines closest to the entrance. Or where the machine can be seen by many people outside the casino. These machines usually dish out more money because if people outside the casino see people winning they'll be tempted to go and lose their money there.
It's a pretty clever marketing scheme(sp?).

One reason certain machine (ie those at the door) seem to hit more is that they are played more. If a machine pays out on average every 10 pulls and the machines near the entrance are played 10 times as frequently then it'll seem to pay out more than their less played counterparts. I'm sure a lot of people would like to think that one machine hits more than another but it's all luck of the draw. Just because a machine hasn't hit in 30 pulls does mean it's going to hit soon. Every pull as the same odds as the last.
My brother went gambling on his 21st birthday and as he was leaving after spending all but $5 he decided to play all he had left on one pull. He found a $5 machine and won $1000. Not to bad of a birthday gift.

When I do gamble, I usually play craps, bacarrat or blackjack. They have the best odds in the house. Every time I play slots, I get bent over big time.
I try to avoid slot machines, it takes me longer to put the coins in than it does to lose the money. :D
I like to play blackjack, not even for the prospects of winning, just because I enjoy the game, from luck to strategy. I don't bet much, so if I can play for a few hours and lose $30, it's well worth it for the entertainment! :)
And sometimes I lose right away, so I can't play long and "get my money's worth." Oh well. :D

My favorite slot is the one someone else is playing. I'd never really want to play one cause I'm too afraid that I'd get hooked and end up pawning off the kids to feed my addiction.

You are one smart fella Mandalorian. :) Don't get started. Everyone in my family gambles so when I turned 18 (thats the legal age in MN) we all went to the casino to celebrate, and I LOVED it. :D I try to make it to Vegas every year, I've been there 3 years in a row now and I hope to go again this winter. But money is VERY tight this year, so I don't know what will happen. :(
One thing I can't get into are the table games, I know slots are truly one armed bandits but I still love them (when they keep me playing) :D Blackjack is fun, but at $5 minimums it can go fast.

I rarely gamble since I have a hard time knowing when to stop and I'm not terribly good, but I enjoy blackjack. As for slot machines, I've never really enjoyed 'em. I have heard blackjack is the only casino game where you can have a real advantage over the house, but you can't prove it by old "23-JT". :D I do have a cool Shockwave blackjack and Shockwave video poker thing saved in my computer though, that's cheap entertainment.
Hasbro'sBountyHunter reminded me, there IS one game of slots I like, the extra life slots at the end of each level of Super Mario 2! ;)

I went to Atlantic City two times and I had a blast. I only played the slots. My favorite type of machine is the Double Diamond (I won on it three times).
JT, I am also not convinced that you have a real advantage over the house in Blackjack. In all my attempts to become as statistical a player as possible (I will not play with any gut feelings) I find that the one card facing down for the dealer is the absolute neutralizer. Throw in a "soft 17" rule for the dealer AND other players at the table who are not very experienced, and you are facing an uphill battle. But still, I like the fact that I have at least some influence on the outcome. :)
JediDan, when I first started playing Blackjack 6 years ago, I had the luxury of $2 minimums. Now the lowest around here is $3, but once in a while there is a $2 table to be found.
Oooh, I used to love walking into the sharks den and watching the high rollers play. JT, that's about the closest you'll get to an advantage over the house, because everyone in there should know what he or she is doing. Long ago they privatized those tables, so I can't loiter anymore. I can't complain though, because if I was playing with all of that money, I wouldn't want spectators either. :)

I go across the border to Canada to gamble every now and then. The Casino Niagara in Niagara Falls is rather busy. As a result, table games (blackjack, roulette) are hard to get at, and even if I did get there, I had to pay something like $5-10 minimum to get in. At that rate, I'd probably last three minutes then be out of money.
So Slots are the logical choice. The only problem with them is that you are at their total mercy. There is no skill, logic, or any real basic strategy besides playing all 3 coins at once.
My personal favorite slot is the Monopoly one. Never really won anything at that machine but somehow, if you got a certain spin, you could play a bonus round, in where you would go around the actual Monopoly board winning credits for every space you landed on.
I am a cheap guy. Once I put 10 bucks in a slot and won something like 80 Canadian (40 American). I stopped playing and cashed out, even though we had been in the Casino for less than a 1/2 hour. I had to wait a couple of hours for my friends but I didn't mind.
I guess your best bet is the roulette wheel red or black. It would be 50/50 if it wasn't for that darn 0 and that cursed 00. Once watched a roulette game for two plays and 00 came up twice in a row. House made a lot of money on those plays.

I gambled at casinos twice in my life. Doesn't really do much for me. I would rather waste my money on SW toys.
