I made a new avatar for myself on the TF2005 boards, as it seems to be the premier Transformers site I'm getting all my TF news from.

I only have 6 posts over there (at this time), but my avatar forewarns of my particular brand of a presense.

It was a picture of Hot Rod, the most typical Transformer I probably behave like (somehow that's not a compliment if I look at it objectively) and I replaced the Autobot symbol with a Mouse Droid and gave him a beer. The human head on his shoulders is actually Luke Skywalker, symbolizing my connection to the Force, as well as the fact that this comic artist drew Luke about as indistinguishable from Tycho Celchu as it can get.

I'd actually saved this Luke picture in case I'd ever want to change my avatar here on SSG - but I actually did just barely for the Return of SSG - I added the Mouse Droid and the Samuel Adams beer.

I like to stay consistant, which is why I'm not constantly changing avatars here.

Anyway, what do you think?

Here's a bit of my Sideshow collection, also on display in the cube at work. The second pic is the Sigma 6 collection, and the last pic only looks like I took it upside down when in fact, it's the figures that are displayed upside down. Space is definitely at a premium. You will also notice a few odds and ends here as well - 18" Bruce Lee, 12" Jack Sparrow, Micro-Man G-Force, DC Who's Who minis, etc.

I'm trying to keep a photo journal of my hair growth. I wish it would grow a little faster, I'm getting tired of having to wash it everyday to avoid huge "Poof" hair. I think it has been stuck at 8 inches for the last month. I've been using plant food to try and stimulate growth.

It's okay- I would suggest rubbing in a solution of freeze-dried daphnia or bloodworm meal- good for growth, no too much fat to cause mould/fungus problems, and it can really bring out the colours, especially when combined with good enough lighting.

What's funny about that is the game comes with a strap for the guitar, but I'll be damned if I can play standing up! Part of that comes form being left handed and the guitar only accommodates the strap in a righty fashion. But mostly is just feels wonky.

My Wal-Marts were using a cardboard standee to fill in for Spider-Man. They said that his Spidey-senses started tingling and he had to swing off to fight a super-villain so he couldn't personally be there. :( I was so disappointed!

But I love how you call the black and white one "Han," and the Calico, "Chewie." I should have guessed! That's classic.

I'm not a huge cat person as I'm: A. really allergic to them and B. most cats i've dealt with were lazy bastids.

Then again, both cats that bit/clawed me, were both hit by trucks/cars within two years. Take that as you will. The only cat that i get along with my grandmothers cat, Kitty, who always seems to find comfort sitting on my shoulders/neck......at least for an hour before I have to leave due to the allergies. Better in the winter though.

Here is a pic of me in Chicago over my birthday weekend 3/2-3/5 07. I'm drunk as a skunk and enjoying some after hours at Nick's bar on N. Milwaukee. The beard is now gone due to hotter weather, but i'm rocking a great moustache.

Thank you everyone! I haven't had much of a chance to get on here since I had the haircut. I've gotten mostly positive comments from my co-workers, and a few telling me I looked better with longer hair. But with summer and the heat, it was getting quite hot with that thick mop on my head.

Also I have the "Relay for Life" coming up, in which I will have to put on my Stormtrooper helmet. With all that hair, I doubt if I would be able to even get the helmet on, let alone be able to see out of it.

Nice gun! It looks like the weapon from Aliens with the grenade launcher below the firing barrel (that's probably what it is, huh?)

But really: a 200 year old palace and you just HAD to put graffitti on the wall? ;)

But I think it's insane what the nutty religious leaders over there get their followers to do (the suicide bombings). That's not a Rancor Pit statement. I'm watching those sorts of comments here. It's just a matter of fact that it's not normal for someone to blow themselves up to take out foreigners or "infadels." But nothing is normal about a lot of people over there.

Last week my sister and her boyfriend came down from Ohio, we went to the Zoo with the rest of the family but just three of us travelled a couple hours to OKC to visit the Bombing Memorial.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y106/Jedigreedo/MeCloseup1.jpg

That was at the zoo, still waiting on more pics from there.

Got quite a few from the OKC Memorial though.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y106/Jedigreedo/07%20Pics/OKC-1.jpg - Overview from the "Survivor Tree" area

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y106/Jedigreedo/07%20Pics/OKC-6.jpg - Message left by, I assume, a rescue team

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y106/Jedigreedo/07%20Pics/OKC-2.jpg - Chainlink fence people still attach tributes to (and theres some pieces that have been there since it happened)

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y106/Jedigreedo/07%20Pics/OKC-12.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y106/Jedigreedo/07%20Pics/OKC-8.jpg -
Each "seat" represents a victim that was in the building at the time, most at their jobs. Each row represents a floor and the large seats are for adult victims while the smaller seats are for child victims.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y106/Jedigreedo/07%20Pics/OKC-7.jpg
View from one end of the reflection pool, the pool replaces the street that the truck was parked on while the "seats" are where the building was. The entire wall behind the "seats" is all that's left of the building.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y106/Jedigreedo/07%20Pics/OKC-9.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y106/Jedigreedo/07%20Pics/OKC-5.jpg -
A small family of ducks that would walk from and to the reflection pool. Most people seemed to be more focused on the ducks, I found it rather profound. A thought crossed my mind- "In this place of death, new life shall flourish."

It was really peaceful at the memorial, especially when walking beside the reflection pool. The pool is only about a half inch deep and most likely a large fountain, the water dumps into it's own resevoir and is pumped back to the other end. So, it keeps a constant level with the stone surrounding making it look almost like a transparent tile floor.

I kept thinking it would make a really good setting for a deep thought/profound realization segment in a movie, mostly a Star Trek one. So, here's LT. Basker getting his picture taken at the memorial:

I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. The formula is a standard "feel good" movie and very predictable, but what appeals to me is the chemistry between the actors. I think it was a good casting combo for the major players and great suprises with the minor players (look what they've accomplished since 1996!). When it comes on, I usually sit down to watch.

...and speaking of watch, Mrs. Hanks sure looks good as "Marguerite"...:lipsrsealed: (almost her real name BTW....)

Okay, anyway. During a break, we crowd actors just sat in the Orpheum seats, and who was sitting in front of me? Liv Tyler. :Homerdroolsound: Got to talk to a car crash extra from an ER episode, and lunch was burritos (I think that could've been a bad choice for people sitting down the whole time they're filming). :lipsrsealed: And Kevin Pollack said a bad word after a missed take. :tired:

There's so much to love about that movie, but I'm always drawn to a film when the "soundtrack" is interwoven so well with the storyline (like with Grease and Amadeus). The story revolves around just one song, but the way the filmmakers varied it throughout was really ingenious. It really is an underrated film in a lot of ways.

Location: In front of the Royal Place, Madrid, Spain

Significance: A stone's throw from the Cinema Real where I repeatedly watched a movie titled La Guerra de las Galaxias, made by a guy named George Lucas. Little did I know I was sporting a Crix Madine look at the time....and didn't know it!

It was cold! A big reason for the :beard:. Sunny Spain is a myth! This was taken in December, I believe. The Spanish have a rhyming saying with regards to their climate: "Nueve meses de inverierno, tres mes de infierno." Translation: Nine months of winter; three months of hell. There's not much of a spring or fall in Madrid.

Vintage it is. Black and white film (because the cost color print film was out of reach for this then-college student), 70's European fashion (note the shirt collar), aviator style glasses: dude! it was "outta sight!"

BTW: The picture is fair game for any photoshopping!

My "vintage" and "retro" pics are frightening youth shots of the late '70s and early/mid '80s, so I may avoid them. Almost no B & W ones, as color film weren't too much back in then times. I've posted some of my lil' kid pics previously, so that's scary enough for ya.
