For some of those who were fooled by the rumors they heard from some folks there was going to be a Spaceballs prequel, I would like to introduce an idea for Brooks to chew on. If a Spaceballs prequel was made, I think it would be cool to mix in some of the "stereotypes" of the fan base that was scrutinizing evry bit of info (like here) into the movie and make that part of it.
And possibly adding in some inside jokes that some people may not get but hardcore SW fans would.

it could be hilarious--or not--brooks' last two films were not that good--dracula: dead and loving it was out and out bad

good or bad, though, i don't see it happening

I agree Anarky, Brooks hasn't made a good movie since . . . History of the World Part I . . . okay, Spaceballs is good so we'll say 1987. :D And really, Mel is pushing 80 now so he'd have to get going SOON on this stuff. But if they do end up going with a cartoon version, that could take some of the workload from him. :)

I'd prefer it to be live action myself. Hey Caesar, The Producers has received critical acclaim for Mel Brooks so it isn't as if he hasn't done anything good in the last 20 yrs. ;)

Young Fankenstein is an awesome talkie that came out in 1977 I think. Its an excellent film, next time I see ya you can borrow it. I'm still waiting for History of the World Part II to come out. ;)

It took 33 years to adapt The Producers but when he did it won a boatload of Tonys.
