I really think that was just plain stupid. They have Aalaya in AOTC but not her master Qunlian, come on Aalaya is his padawan if she is in the movie why not him, but still AOTC was awsome and i dont think this was a bad point of the movie

Well, I guess he was busy on assignment somewhere.

Aayla was a last minute addition, and wasn't originally planned to be in the movie. Lucas liked her look, from the cover of one of the comics that came across the desk, so they grabbed a staffer, tossed her in make up and a costume, threw her infront of a green screen and added her to the battle. Perhaps Lucas didn't see, or didn't care for Quinlan's look. Since it was taken from a background extra in E1. :)

Didn't he go off somewhere and leave her to be another's padawan? I would have to check, but I know it was in one of the comics I have. When I find it I will let you know.

I think Jar Jar's explained it pretty well, she was just put in for her look, the last thing they where worried about was getting her backstory in aswell!

He probably was on assignment on a border dispute somewhere.

I think that in the ATOC comic adaptation, he is in there. I don't know why they didn't just put him in the movie too. There is a guy that looks a lot like him, just without the tattoos.

I don't see what the big deal is anyway.

Look just above Jar Jar in the picture, to the black cloaked person sitting at the table, who has a yellow stripe across his face. :)

i dont see what the big deal is either. if hes in the comic, just pretend hes in the movie. there are about 200 jedi in the arena so youre not going to see every single one of them for more than a few seconds (save for jedi like mace, kit, etc.) so just do what i do...believe that hes there and you just dont see him onscreen

Quinlan Vos isn't in the Arena Battle because by EpII Aayla Secura has risen to the rank of Jedi Knight. I don't really care about Vos, I just like seeing female Jedi, Luminara Unduli, Shaak Ti, and Barriss Offee.

Remember, Mace gathered up as many Jedi as he could on short notice -- 100 or 200 (I can't remember which.) Vos easily could've been dispatched on a mission. Maybe to Ansion.

Wow! I never knew that he was inspire by an Ep. 1 background character! COOL! He hasn't been one of my avorite comic book Jedi, but I do think he's pretty cool anyway and I love his look! I'm not upset at all that he wasn't in AOTC, but I still think it would've been great to see him there. Never having seen his design in that shot, I was very amazed at it since it's been pointed out! It's a bit of a thrill to see a comic character come to life like that! Even if it is just in the background.
