About a year ago it was rumoured that there was going to be a new R5-D4 in the Power Of The Jedi line, what happened to him? Did he just turn out to be R2-Q5 in the end or is he still on the cards? If not, who would like to see a resculpt of the gimmicky Power Of The Force version?

Also, the plastic didn't shine like it does on the R2 figures, that didn't help it look real.

R5-D4 became R4-M9, originally he was reported to be with BoShek but it was changed to R4 instead.

Really wish a new R5 would come out, we truly need one, wouldn't mind that with a re-hash of the Power Droid, although without the "walking" gimmick, it was too hard to keep his feet together.

I'd like to see that R1 unit in the purchase of the droids scene.

I heard rumors that R5-D4 was in the works again for next year. I would like R1-G4 as well, but I doubt they would package him with R5-D4. I think some of those other small droids rolling around during the purchase of the droids scene would be cool like LIN-V8K, Wed15-1662, or 2X-3KPR.

And for the record, I hate that little walking gimmick on the Gonk droid as well. Does anyone know how to disable it so he can stand up?

I didnt meen pack them both together.

Oh, anyway, add CZ-3 and RA-7 to that list as well. Some of these are small enough where they could be put in 2 packs, accessory packs, or maybe combine them into cinema scenes.

I know, I'm dreaming again.

I'd like to see one of those yellow R2 units in the Naboo Starfighters, that droid that tunes itself in to talk in AOTC and CZ-1 To name a few.

Wrap one of the lil elastic bands that come with the figures around his feet. That way his feet will be in the same postion and can be stood up normally. :)

Also, a bit of blue tac at the bottom of its feet keeps his legs straight.

LIN-15-77 is Beru's battered up droid with multiple arms, CZ-1 is the white droid seen stumbling around in a drunken manner in Mos Eisly, there the only ones I can help you with.

Thanks, I would like to see a r2-a5, an r2-q2, r5-x2, ra-7, tc-6, and finally a WED-1016. Droids are awesome.

Yeah, those other R2 and R5 units are pretty cool. In the Dear Hasbro thread, someone asked for generic rebel pilots and R2 unit 2 packs. That was a cool idea.

I am working on customizing a R2-X2 right now.

I cut off those guns and middle plastic piece off of the POTF2 R5-D4. I also glued him shut. He doesn't look as bad now.

It's just a damn head sculpt we want. The droid body is already there just choose the best one and make a new head like you did for R4-M9 and R3-T7 It's not that hard and it's a cash cow to hasbro to churn out astro droids by the squillions. Jeez, give me a lump of wax resin and I'll sculpt the damn thing for you! Is it too much to ask that after 25 years we could get some decent sculpts of these characters? Especially the little astro droid who made it possible for R2 to get to Luke and to Ben Kenobi. Without R5-D4 there's no saga. So get him out there in the stores and while you're at it you can pack in a resculpt of the vintage radio controlled sandcrawler. :D

Yes, we need a new R5-D4 right now, and as Jargo pointed out all Hasbro has to do is sculpt a head. They already have the body made (my quibbles with that body aside, I'll take it just to have a new R5).

He is seen being lifted into a X-Wing in the Yavin hangar. He has a dark green body and a white head.

. . .instead of another r5d4 i'd much rather have the 3 astros pictured on p. 13 of the ep2 visual dictionary (which are, according to above link: blue&red r2n6, orange r4t8 and purple r5h6) :D

We MUST get an R5-D4.

I really don't understand the hold-up.

Someone over at Rebelscum said a while back that his sources at Hasbro (and they are supposedly really pretty trustworthy) say one is in the works as a pack in for a Sandcrawler?

I can only hope this is true. But it seems a little too good to be true.

I would love to have a new R5-D4 and don't understand why the hold-up. Hasbro knows he will sell, since most fans want better versions of figures available in the vintage line. Besides all we are talking about here is a headsculpt, Hasbro already has the body. And after they sculpt that head they can release it over and over with different paint applications and we will buy every one. Where else can you get liscense from the fans to rehash the exact same mold with only different paint jobs, Hasbro?
