I was when i saw yoda duel and it made it a lot more suprising, exciting, and awsome, were you spoiler free when you saw yoda fight.

07-06-2002, 06:52 PM
Nope, I heard about it from people who went to C2 and they were explaining how it went and stuff.

07-06-2002, 07:04 PM
Never seen it , but like LtBasker, said I heard about it through the grapevine sorta speak. When I seen it though, it blew my mind, so I had to see it again. 3 mores times to be exact.

I wasn't, so it seemed a little disappointing.

I had the figure by then so I knew. I like it still, it owuld have been better if he didn't make so many noises...

i read the book and saw the comic and still it passed my expectations, it was great

not at all... for one some friend came to my place with a cd he had burnt full of mpegs that included the whole duel sequence...

and also we had discussed this "Yoda with a lightsaber" scene back in 2000-2001 along with the scripts that unlike some people initially thought, turned out to be the real thing.

Spoiler Free for Me

07-07-2002, 09:31 AM
I had only seen the figure so that I knew he was going to use his saber but nothing else and it was awesome when I first saw it

07-07-2002, 10:13 AM
I was amused at how he was screaming!!! :D

07-07-2002, 02:05 PM
I was spoiler free...

07-07-2002, 02:06 PM
it was a lot cooler when you see spoiler free because my friend was not spoiler free and he knew every detail and i thought it was sweet and he thought it was cool but not sweet, well it was a whole different expeircence when your spoiler free it makes the movie a lot cooler

07-07-2002, 03:00 PM
I know what you mean...but I could never wait 3 years without knowing anything about the movie.

I had known something was going to happen, that he would kick all form of #$@. Alot of other folks did too in the theatre. You knew everyone had known because of the cheers and hoots when Yoda entered in the place.

07-08-2002, 09:08 AM
I did know maybe one or two spoilers when i see the movie like the only spoilers i knew was anakin got his hand cut off because it was so obvious from all the pictures i looked at of aotc

Somehow, I remained 99.9% spoiler free for the plot elements, so the fight was a complete surprise to me. Of course, at first the thought of seeing Yoda fight seemed really cool, but my reaction was more out of curiousity than excitement to see how they handled it. The first part of the battle was interesting, but then it quickly fell to the ridiculous as he put on his frog-on-a-hotplate jumping around schtick. Very silly. I'd expect that behavior from Jar Jar, not a Jedi Master. Oh well.

07-08-2002, 10:31 AM
it was to throw off count dooku at where he was when yoda was jumping around

07-08-2002, 03:12 PM
I was spoiler free about all that happened in EP II, the same happened with EP I, i wouldnt have it any other way.

07-08-2002, 04:32 PM
I was pretty spoiler free. I heard yoda showed up at the end. But I had no idea what that crazy Yoda was gonna do. It was a nice surprise.

07-08-2002, 07:04 PM
i knew he was going to have a duel, but that was it.

07-12-2002, 12:42 PM
The only thing I knew was that Yoda was gonna' be busting out some kicking crap and that he was gonna' be at the top of his game. Now, whenever something gets to me I get goosebumps. Well, when I saw Yoda dueling with Dooku, I got goosebumps, I clapped, and I yelled. So yeah, it was good..

07-13-2002, 07:30 AM
All I knew about yoda was that he would use his lightsaber and jump around, but I had no idea it was going to be against Dooku!

I saw the scene pretty much spoiler free. I had the figure already so I knew he was going to fight somehow, somewhere. But it totally blew away my expectations. I think everyone got pumped when you see Yoda round the corner. Kinda like oh man this is going to be good. I remember the first time I watched it I sat there with my mouth open and it wasn't until it was all over that I realized I hadn't taken a breath through nearly the entire fight. Really good scene. I think seeing it spoiler free made all the difference.

To show how clueless I was, I thought that Mace Windu was in the shadows to duel with Dooku. I had completely forgotten the "Yoda fights" stories, so it became the greatest SW feeling I've ever had, since I first saw ANH! Totally awesome and great in every way. I love to be in the dark about the Prequels, so I look at virtually no images. That way, I get surprised in a good way.
True, most of us know the basics, but I like to be positively shocked at the details.

I knew that Yoda was going to fight in some way, but I wanted to be completly suprised. I WAS!

It was pretty much a spolier free moment for me, although I did hear from sources on radio and TV say that the Yoda puppet was excluded from the movie because of a fight scene and the fact that the entire movie was shot digitally. Other than that I had no idea who Yoda was going to fight, who Dooku was, just how agile Yoda fought, etc as I entered the movie.
