Age of Owen Lars?

Pardon me if anyone has already raised this question but this has been on my mind lately and I want to see if anyone has an explanation for this.

The database says that at the time of Ep1 Anakin is 9 yeas old. And it also says at the time of Ep2 he's 20 years old. Roughly an 11 year time difference between movies.

So, after Anakin left his mother, in that 11 year time period, Shmi was sold to Cliegg Lars who then freed her and married her. They then proceeded to have Owen Lars. Now given there's time for pregnancy, yadda yadda yadda,... Owen should be absolutely no older than 11 years old in Ep2.

All I can say is I wish I had that kind of facial hair when I was 11. Heck, I wish I had that kind of facial hair NOW, at 24.

Anybody heard any explanation for this?

Owen Lars is not Shmi's son, he is the son of Cliegg's first wife. Remeber those 2 extra graves next to Shmi's in AOTC's. That was Cliegg's first wife's grave, who was Owen's mother before she died. Shmi is his Step-mother. As for who is in the 3rd grave, that may likely remain a mystery. Though the grave appears to be smaller then the ones for the two Lars women, so likely it was for a lost child. :)

I would assume he is probably about the same age as Anikin. Maybe a little older.

Anakin's 19, and I'd guess that Owen is about 22, by the looks of him.

Yeah, Owen looks 21-22. I'm guessing Beru is more Anakins age
