What do you think of this one:

It may seem like the thumb may just be broken off but it's not. I've seen the same thing at my Wal-Mart and it's molded like that! I think this could be a very rare variant/error...

i doubt this will be a MAJOR variant. just something to get a buck or two.

I dunno. I bought the one I saw at Wal-Mart and they both look very similar.

Geeze I didn't know that was a variant, I've got one opened standing right in front of me. I would say these are pretty common, as all the ones in the stores around here are like this. Not that I really care about variants, I'm more inclined to buy the best sculpt I can find when I'm looking.

Also maybe the the packaging is to tidht forcing the thumb to bend like Luminara's lightsaber that every one thought was a variant. :) Your Welcome Hango!!!! :D

They most likely just got mashed a little during packaging. It happens to alot of stuff, and I don't think the plastic they used on the hand and fingers is all that sturdy. Variant? Not even an error. Just something that happened during packaging.

This was posted on the main page hear a while ago. It's a real variation, but not anything to trade your transition tray Luke for. It's just a improvement Hasbro did in the middle of the line. If you look at the newer slightly clinched fist it looks much cooler. Much more realist to the movie and such. That's all.

Clearly the auction is going no where, so it's not that valuable. :)

that is what i call an "improvment error" becasue it's still not acruate to the movie, but has improved from the first version. hopefully, by the end, they will have it with a fist like on the front of the cards pic.

The hand is pretty loose in the packaging. And the thumb is bent where a real thumb would bend....

ugh, have you watched the movie, Vader didn't have a clenched fist the whole time he was pleaing with Luke to join him.

Amen Rynobot.
Gosh, Vader doesn't close his hand till the spiel about how together they can rule the galaxy as father and son. He reaches out to Luke with his hands open when he's saying "join me."
So you can call this an 'improvement error' or whatever, but its not anything other than a boob up, or a sculpt change, but its really nothing.
Enough with the whole wrong pose rubbish.

on the back of the ESB SE case it shows Vader pleading with his hand open just like the figure.
