I want white Clone Troopers!

When the sneak preview Clone Troopers came out, I was a little displeased that they were "dirty," as I like my stormtroopers nice and white and pristine and the same rules apply to their forebears, as it were.

However, the blue "blaster fire" effect offset the "dirtiness" and I figured, well, I could build a squad of "in the field" Clones for a battle diorama and have clean Clones in whatever vehicles they came out with coming in as reinforcements through the back lines.

Then when the Ep. II figures proper came out, and I saw that the Clones were all the red variation I figured, well, Hasbro wanted to put something out that was a little more colorful than plain white for the kiddies, and that if they sold well, plain white Clone Troopers would be sure to follow.

This does not seem to be the case, however, at least not according to SSG; the Pilot clones are next. Does anyone know differently?

The second question, then, is: if Hasbro does not plan to release white Clone Troopers, what do you think the prospects are for painting some of them? I have never customized a SW figure before. I can paint, as I construct Mobile Suit Gundam models, but I don't know what different kinds of paints would do to the plastic SW figs are molded from, or what kinds of paints would stick best, etc.

If I can learn to paint them, I could paint myself some Commanders, Sergeants, and Corporals, as well.

I could also clean up my "battle damaged" POTJ Scout Troopers (I am NOT paying outrageous collector prices for a cleain one), another Hasbro move which annoyed the heck out of me.

What would be better is if they could stand at attention and not be posed. I would by clone trooper in every color if they were like this. (It would be great for a Palpatine and Senate review of the troops diorama).

I would like to see Hasbro do another troop builder set - but with plain white clones. Decent articulation, no gimmicks.

The stormies were a long time in coming. I would think they are selling well. Why not keep it going!!??

the deluxe clonetrooper is due out in december. i have no idea when we will see it.

Most of the Clonetrooper in the movie were white, I really want Hasbro to give us plain white ones with loads of articulation (don't forget the wrists!) and a removable helmet. And a blaster, obviously.

My girlfriend picked me up several Clonetroopers at the K-Mart sale. (I told her to keep an eye out for the red Battledroid, she only remembered red a couple of weeks later and got four.) I'm not sure if I'm going to customize them, but what is the safest way to remove the red paint without harming that low-quality plastic?

Green...? I don't remember seeing any any green Clones. very interesting, now lets see what this is about......
I have 5 sneek preview clones 2 I painted all white .......and I have 4 red clones one I left RED, one I painted over the red with BLUE, one with YELLOW and one I painted all WHITE
I don't know the color ranking but I have 6 troops 3 clean 3 dirty
and 3 leaders ?!?(of sorts)...........I used model paint that you can find near or in most toy sections in most stores

It would be nice if they could come up with a 4-Pack officers pack of all 4 colors for the fan club, or sell it retail perhaps.

Buy the Red Clone trooper and paint it yourself. You can probably do a better job than Hasblo. Almost all of the Red Clone troopers since 4/23 have had the worst paint jobs. Speckles everywhere (white on the black faceplate, etc)....no straight lines on the red stripes and other mistakes.

A new white Clone Trooper would be great. Personally, I'm happy with the sneak preview Cloney. I love the articulation of the red Clone Trooper so hopefully it'll be similar.

Yes, there was a rank that indicated its colouring as GREEN. It's in the latest STAR WARS: INSIDER magazine... the one with Yoda on the front. I think you can also find the information on the official site.

The red stripes on the Saga Clonetrooper pretty much guaranteed that I was only going to buy one of them. I picked up four of the preview Clones so I can have a small squad jumping out of the Gunship. I really think that Hasbro should have given us the red Clone as a preview figure and the white Clone as a regular figure. Either that or released them like they did the Ep1 Battledroids (4 versions per case).

HOLY CR@P!!!!People.....you complain when a store does not have a lot of figures, you complain when a store has too many figures , when you find the figures you want you complain about the paint job (we all see the paint job's on the figures ..so your not telling us something we don't know) or the bent package or the high price you HAD to pay(don't buy from scalpers) to get them

When I look back (started collecting in late 96-97) I have got almost all the figures I wanted(not always when I wanted them)...over 300 carded and maybe 400 loose figures (not including Vintage collection)......and with all the sales and price breakes over all I did not pay too much for any!
If a store sucks dont go to it, If its the only store around,I'm sorry. ......but dont tell us about it, We all have stores that suck near us also. I have gone to 6 or 8 store a day for a week and found nothing!! .....Why tell you?? ("things are tough all over" at times)You will find it!! You found that other stuff right??..........I'm not mad at anyone this is just a reminder we all strike out sometimes but letting us know just makes it seem glum all over. Just tell us "The good news!!"...... AMEN.
