Nice. You ought to look for the techno remix of this song. It's pretty good.

JT, you have to believe me when I say DMC's Walk this Way started playing on this disc moments after I read your post!
Anyway, yes it's awesome - but wow does Tyler look coked up in there! Not quite off the sauce yet at that point. :(

Nexu, your SoaD nominations remind me of a long ago discussion about the band (on the Grammy's). Anyway, while I absolutely HATE Chop Suey, I have to admit that Toxicity and Aerials have been growin' on me. ;)

LBC - question about EJ's Candle '87 - is that from his performance for Ryan White? I always loved that.

anyway, Coffee and TV is good, Everlong by the Foo Fighters is good too. I like Nirvana's In Bloom video (the one with half dresses and half suits, I've seen a version where they were in suits the entire time), and almost anything by Tool.

Korn: Falling Away From Me
No Doubt: Ex-Girlfriend
Public Enemy: 911 Is a Joke
Beastie Boys: Sabotage
A Tribe Called Qwest: I Left My Wallet In El Segundo
Tool: the two videos from the album before Aenema, Sober and the other one that looked the same but dealt with what looked like a child being tormented by some evil dark grown-up. Horrifying, but I can't remember what it was called....
FatBoy Slim: Praise You
Blink 182: whichever video shows them blowing the funds to make that video. Done seemingly on handicam - I love the bit where they let all the pet store animals go, and then hug and cry! Damn, that's funny...
Britney Spears: Im a Slave for You. Don't I wish!

08-04-2002, 02:29 AM
#1 Beastie Boys - Sabotage
#2 The Replacement Killers (watch it and tell me it's NOT a two hour music video) - Chow Yun-fat plugging a bunch of thugs to The Crystal Method's Keep Hope Alive... Bliss!

I haven't watched many videos since MTV started SUCKING and my musical tastes changed from metal to just about anything BUT metal (or rap), but Sabotage is a classic. It makes me want to put on a wig, fake mustache and sunglasses and slide across the hood of a car. In fact, I think I will!

08-04-2002, 12:05 PM
What's the deal with Praise you? I don't get it.

Actually "Candle 87'" is from a concert performance done in Austrailia in late 86'. He dressed up as Mozart complete with a powdered wig.

At the Ryan White funeral he sang "Skyline Pigeon" and did have real white hair (no wig) that he has since dyed.

Enjoy reading and remembering all of those great videos.
