08-18-2002, 06:21 PM
i'll make my own unless it gets stupidly cheap.
08-18-2002, 11:49 PM
i get one after the little follows hit cleanrces.
08-18-2002, 11:52 PM
If it goes on sale for under $20 I might consider it, but short of that forget it!
08-19-2002, 12:07 AM
I might get it, dunno, depends if I decide to spend the money on extra gunships instead. It wouldn't really be that hard to make I think.
Yep, I'm going to try to do it on my own. Some of the stuff would be nice to have though. :)
08-19-2002, 12:51 AM
No sir, I don't like it!
08-19-2002, 01:06 AM
ER...? Kick it to the curb!
08-19-2002, 06:48 AM
I'm with you P, I'll be getting one. Here starts the support the Arena campaign!!!!
08-19-2002, 08:46 AM
Well if they'd left these two cool pieces in the set maybe I might have been tempted to spend an inordinate amount of cash just to get the accessories but seeing as they ddn't leave these pieces in the set and there's a good chance we'll see them with carded figures instead I'll pass. The gunship is a better prospect for spending cash on. LT, save your money for the gunship. You made the right choice.
08-19-2002, 10:43 AM
ah.....i'll put both of them(the gunship and arena playset) in layaway. i'll have them out by january!!!
08-19-2002, 11:19 AM
Yeah... the cannon and the detention device would make the set better. The thing is... the detention device really SHOULD be a part of the set!!!
08-19-2002, 01:09 PM
I'm looking forward to it.
08-19-2002, 02:36 PM
i thought the cannon was still going to be in the arena?????
Why the heck did hasbro take them out??
08-19-2002, 02:55 PM
I might get it, but I'd sooner get the gunship. It'll probably be way more expensive here anyway :( .
08-19-2002, 02:57 PM
Any exclusive figures come with it?
08-19-2002, 04:28 PM
No exclusive figures. Fewer pack-in parts than initially intended. Overall- I'd say... MARKDOWN!!!!!!!
If the binders come with it, I'd heavily consider it. If not, I probably won't get it.
08-20-2002, 12:05 PM
I think i will pass then.

I saw this set at Comic Con and I'm getting 2!
It's solid plastic, molded on both sides, nice design.
I'm also supporting Hasbro doing playsets as I open my figures and use them.
Finally, if Hasbro forgot to bring the Detention Device with them to Comic Con, that could be the only reason it's rumored not included. I don't recall if the cannon was there or not.
But if the Detention Device is being shipped seperately with a figure, it'd have to be Obi-Wan. Dooku wouldn't make much sense as he wasn't in the thing.
If they do another Obi-Wan in just his tunic, w.o. robes that is,
then this is the only one I'd want to see - Hanger Duel wounded with the blood streaks! (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/forums/attachment.php?s=&postid=66470) That would rock!
However, that's not how Obi-Wan looks in the movie while he's hanging in the Detention Device.

Tycho, check out the pictures of the box from the San Diego toy show. There is not one picture showing the two accessories. I think they took them out of the set because the rear focuses on the droid foundry and the secret hangar not the cell. The cannon is quite large so it would be cooler to pack it as a deluxe piece or large accessory with a new droid figure. The cell force binders array piece would be better with a new Obi figure as a collection 2 piece. Nice and neutral, fine details that make it look like Ewan not Jesus. ;)
Either way I'm fifty percent sure the two accessories aren't in the set. I guess the only way to find out is to ask Hasbro or someone who's got an early release of the thing.
