I've seen it 3 times in the theaters, but then I turned to the dark side and downloaded the second half off of grokster but the quality is bad. The first half I downloaded ended up being Corky Ramano. You can get the VCD and DVD on Ebay, but 99% of them are pirated and dont come with the deleted scenes so it's best to wait till Nov.

I saw The Phantom Menace 15 times at the cinema, but have only been to see AOTC 7 times. I've watched it about 100 times on pirate video though but I'd rather go the cinema any day!

I saw AOTC a total of 3 times which includes one digital viewing. I can now say that a SW film was the first digital movie I ever saw.

08-20-2002, 01:51 AM
Ep 1 - 11 times, 2 of which were DLP digital projection, 1 of which was Cinecomm digital projection (you can read my reviews of each digital projection experience in the old SSG features ( I went to "see it all" even though I didn't love the film. I liked the theater experience for the film and enjoyed going with friends and family members who were excited to see it with a "real SW fan".

Ep 2 - 2 times, I wanted to go 1 more, but never got around to it. 1st viewing was DLP Digital at the Chinese theater on opening day, 2nd was exact 25th anniversary of Star Wars. I didn't go more because this film really just didn't grab me, I didn't like it much at all. Nobody I knew was excited about it after opening weekend. It felt like it had a lot of interesting ingredients, but came out flavorless mush served in a pretty bowl.

I seen it 3 times. Twice in digital. November 12th, I will be seeing it a few more times. :)

WOW! I'm Suprised at how little WE as a whole have seen the movies! I thought "Attack of the Clones" was way better then "The Phantom Menace" But, most people saw it LESS.

I would have thought alot of us would say 20-30-or something...

In my first post I also asked ...Why?---- for me...

I want to pay tribute to the O.T. by seeing the movies by there corusponding numbers.......

ep1-saw-4 times
ep2-saw-5 times
ep3-saw-6 times-(I will)
ep4-saw-1 time-(Re-Re-Release I will)
ep5-saw-2 times(Re-Re-Release Iwill)
ep5-saw-3 times-(Re-Re-Release I will)

Only one time for me. Rough family stuff kept me away from the theater until the very end of the run. And I saw Episode 1 more times than I care to admit ;)

08-20-2002, 03:17 PM
I've seen it 3 times on the theater. Tried to get to the digital theater to see it only to find out that Lilo & Stitch started in the digital theater the night before.

Vellner, it's just my opinion, but I think WE as the SW fan base simply didn't like AOTC much as a movie which is why we didn't see it much. I have seen the OT in theaters countless times, both original and SE releases, but AOTC didn't do much for me or most folks I know. The other reason is that the home market has ruined the cinema experience for many, it's not like when SW came out and the only way you were guaranteed you would see it is if you saw it in a theater.

I guess your right, It's just that TPM was a dissapointment(I like it some) so it made AOTC seem that much better (to me). But, compared to OT it's not that great....;(

Unfortunately my first viewing was a rotten PC downloaded version, and only because our theatre wasn't getting it on opening day (yes, you read that correctly). I drove 2 hours to see it in the theatre the first Saturday it was out, then watched it 4 more times when it finally arrived here in beautful Prince Rupert - a month after it's official release. I will never see it in a digital theatre, and I resent where Im living because of that. Oh well.
I really like AOTC and can't wait to see it on DVD. Im proud that it was my daughter's first theatre experience, we took her twice. She remembers so much of it and still asks questions, SHE can't wait for Nov. either (she's 3!!!!). She didn't have to go to the bathroom either time!

ROTJ -- once (I have repeated a couple of times that viewing the movie, is my earliest known memory)

ANH SE -- once

ESB SE -- once

ROTJ -- once

TPM -- twice (the most I have ever seen a movie at a theatre. I ain't a millionaire)

AOTC -- twice (the opening week I went and ran into my brother and his girlfriend. Strange since we both went to a cinema 20 miles away from our house and we had no idea we were going to see it that night. The other time was in mid June when I took my other brother from Denver to see the flick for his Birthday. I just noticed that my VHS trilogy is missing, and I haven't seen it since about the time he left. Methinks I will give him a call soon . . .)
