View Full Version : Jedi Cloak

I managed to get the Jedi cloak from the arena set on my tatooine attack anakin. He looks pretty good. It took a while but one it's on, it makes a goods figure better (only because he had a cloak in the movie).

Too bad we have to put cloaks on our figures (no thanks to Hasbro). Thats a good idea Bosskman, I was going to put that cloak on HD or TA Anakin.

(BTW, love your avatar Darth Vellner)

Yea, Is it so hard to make a good cloak for the Jedi/Sith?

Thanks, If you live in the mid-west you'll know that the phone number is for ("EMPIRE"Carpet) - 588-2300-EMPIRE

hmmm jedi with cloaks...what a concept!

jajajaja--------Nice Concept

But why not someone release loose Cloaks made out of a rubber material, and attachable arms robe parts....
I know it sounds strange, but if you take the mold from older figures like Naboo Obi & Quigon, maybe you'll get nice castign molds..

Just an idea

But Anakin's cloak is black, and sleeveless...just use the one from the Sith Speeder Maul, or the Sith accessory set, and cut the sleeves off!

Um...what? Are you sure? Someone said in another thread earlier that it was.

It's definitely not black, very dark brown maybe, but not black.

Anakin
09-07-2002, 11:55 PM
anakin's robe IS sleeveless, it's a cloak w/two tabbards down the front, and it's black, black cape, hmm, where else have we seen that before? oh wait, DARTH VADER and ANAKIN BECOMES DARTH VADER AND IT'S AN EARLY SIGN like so many others

No, your wrong.

DeadEye
09-08-2002, 08:05 AM
It's been said in multiple threads before this that it was black and sleeveless. For some reason people often get very dark brown and black confused. I often see people with hair that is clearly black and on papers it says it is brown.

i used a spare obi-wan JSP cloak on TA ani and it looks great! a little tough getting it on, but it is worth it.

Anakin's outer cloak is dark brown. Very, very brown. And most definitely not black.

DeadEye, just because someone's hair looks black to you upon first glance doesn't mean it is so. My hair appears black in photos and in low light, but the highlights are always brownish red. It's the highlights that determine the color. Highlights on black are NEVER brown or blue, they are always grey, silver or white. If the highlights appear brownish then the color is dark brown, if the highlights appear blue then the color is dark blue. Your eyes will fool you if you don't pay attention to detail.

DeadEye
09-08-2002, 12:19 PM
Ok, so it does have sleeves. But it still looks black to me. At the very least it is darker than Obi-Wan's.

bigbarada
09-08-2002, 12:34 PM
How can that look black to you?? Are you colorblind?

It is brown, that is a fact as much as the fact that Artoo is white with blue details and a silver dome. I cannot understand how you can look at that as black.

Unless you just playing one of your stupid "you won't prove me wrong" childish games.

I give up trying to reason with the hopeless.

Well, just for the record, never on these forums have I ever been proven wrong! On occasion I've been incorrect, but never wrong.
Anyway, this isn't one of those "games," none of which I play anyway. I have 20/20 vision and can distinguish colors quite well for the most part...however the robe still looks black to me.
Hey BigB, you know the button-down shirt you wear as the shirt for a Class B uniform? Everyone calls it a green shirt but it looks blue to me.

Mr. JabbaJohnL
09-08-2002, 12:55 PM
He does NOT have sleeves! Look at that pic again, or go see the movie at a dollar theatre and you will see he does NOT have sleeves!!!!!!!!!

DeadEye
09-08-2002, 12:57 PM
Dude, look at the pic. His robe does have sleeves!

bigbarada
09-08-2002, 01:03 PM
It doesn't have sleeves, he just has his hands under the robe.

If that dress shirt looks blue to you, then I think you really are colorblind, DeadEye. Compare it to the Air Force dress uniform and you will see the difference.

Thus,

..wait for it...

.....wait for it....

YOU ARE WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!

ok...to settle this, it's the color of my hair right now! very very very dark brown! "this biqering(sp?) is pointless!"
h

bigbarada
09-08-2002, 01:09 PM
"bickering"

And you're right it is pointless, some people just won't accept the truth when it is right in front of their faces.:frus:

DeadEye, in all seriousness, I would recommend you take some art classes and learn about colors. It would do you some good.

DeadEye
09-08-2002, 01:17 PM
I'm an exceptional artist. And I'm not wrong.
The way you speak, BigB, is as if you think I'm talking about the green outer blouse on the Class A that holds ribbons and awards and whatnot. I'm talking about the button-down T-shirt beneath it, whose collar holds the tie.

bigbarada
09-08-2002, 01:26 PM
Whatever you are, you're sure not modest.

Anyways, the class-B shirt is a very unique shade of light green, but green nonetheless. The class-A overcoat, I had mentioned in my last post but edited it to the shirt when I realized that I had misunderstood what you said originally. However, that doesn't change the fact that the shirt you speak of is green, that's why the entire uniform is called a "pickle suit.":D Or course that will change soon as the Army gets ready to adopt the new brown class-A uniform. Then this whole argument will be pretty moot.

And the T-shirt is white.:)

DeadEye
09-08-2002, 01:28 PM
Yes, the T-shirt is white.
However, the "middle" shirt, in a summerweight version is short sleeve, and therefore can be considered a T-shirt as well. :)

Ok...here's a real big question. Just what color is the BDU T-shirt? I've always thought it was brown but everyone else says it's green. :stupid:

bigbarada
09-08-2002, 01:35 PM
The Army BDU T-shirt is brown, the Marine BDU T-shirt is olive drab. That could be were your friends are getting confused.

T-shirts don't have buttons or collars, short sleeves mean nothing. That's like the people who call any pair of shorts "boxers" when boxers are actually a nickname for a specific kind of underwear. Same with T-shirts, that is also a nickname for a type of underwear.

Geez, I can't believe I am here arguing clothing articles with you.

DeadEye
09-08-2002, 01:43 PM
Well, geez, I'm sorry!
I actually never knew the qualifications for being a T-shirt.
This is another instance where I'm incorrect. :)

hango fett
09-08-2002, 01:58 PM
i always thought a t-shirt was in the shape of a T, hence the mane t-shirt...
'???
h

DeadEye
09-08-2002, 02:03 PM
Exactly! That's what I'm saying!
Technicalities...*sigh*
:D

bigbarada
09-08-2002, 02:05 PM
That was the origin of the name, but there are also sleeveless T-shirts. Of course, T-shirts have been spruced up quite a bit in the last couple of decades, so it is understandable where the confusion comes from.

Anyways, getting back on topic: Anakin's BROWN robe. I can produce some more pictures but if that last one didn't convince you, these won't help much. Sunlight is the key, as it brings out every color. Like I said, look at the highlights.

DeadEye
09-08-2002, 02:20 PM
Upon closer inspection, I see that it is indeed dark brown.
However, we need more pics because I can't tell from the one you posted whether it's sleeved or not.

Mr. JabbaJohnL
09-08-2002, 04:35 PM
Here's a pic where he's crossing his un-cloaked arms, with his much darker, sleeveless cloak on (which, by the way, has no sleeves):

Mr. JabbaJohnL
09-08-2002, 04:39 PM
Cause God knows that last pic didn't do it for you . . .

bigbarada
09-08-2002, 04:40 PM
Yes, it is very brown, and sleeveless. I don't think Mr. JabbaJohnL mentioned that it was sleeveless, which it is. Meaning that it has no sleeves.;):p

DeadEye, being incorrect and being wrong is the same thing. Don't argue semantics, you have been proven wrong on many occassions so quit acting like your the all knowing and all seeing perfect forumite that never makes mistakes and knows everything. You dropped the attitude from your sig, but it's still very visible from your defensive posts whenever someone proves you wrong.

Want another picture of Anakin's Brown sleeveless cloak? Here, try this one on for size. Sorry the picture quality isn't the greatest, but it was one of the images of the charecters that were found and thrown on the net long before the movie opened. Now for once stop arguing and look at the facts. :)

What the hell are you people *****ing about? BigB's first pic had no way of showing whether Ani wore sleeves or not, but all the subsequential ones did. There was no need to put the labels on the one where he's talking to Palpy.
Christ, this belongs in a Preschool forum.

Mr. JabbaJohnL

Thank you for posting that picture! I've been trying to find it for ages!

By the way . . . did you know that Anakin's robe has no sleeves? :p

Beast
09-08-2002, 05:04 PM
DeadEye, if you would open your good eye and look at the very first damn picture that BigB posted, you can see the openings for his arms in the sleeveless robe. Do I have to get out a paint program and circle the areas for you, because I gladly will. By the way....did you know that you were wrong, the robe is brown and has no sleeves. ;) :D

For a real-life example of the differences, go to the store, buy a Hershey's candy bar (almonds or no almonds, it makes no difference) and a Hershey's Special dark chocolate bar. Then open them up and place them side-by-side. Then you will understand, oh foolish padawan.:)

Here's the Anakin/Palpy scene from a different angle. You can't get much clearer than this, or much browner.

Mr. JabbaJohnL
09-08-2002, 05:04 PM
Just saw your post.

Sure, of course there needed to be labels! You wouldn't have been satisfied otherwise.

Jesus Herbert Christ, Deadeye needs to get banned. :p

I've been banned twice, for Christ's sake. You need to be banned.
BigB, in your last pic of a "different" angle it is clear that it's brown but I can't see whether he has sleeves or not in that pic.

You have been banned twice, and learned nothing either time. So it obviously didn't work as was intended. So please, drop the ego and the better then everyone else attitude and more people could stand you. You were doing pretty well until today and your latest babbling.

Not once in the entire movie does Anakin wear a robe with sleeves. Just get it thru your skull, the facts point to that conclusion. Arguing that you can't see them in a certain shot is just petty and pointles. Accept the facts, or go off into your own little happy world, ignorent of reality. :frus: :(

Does anyone remember what the first post was about, because I sure as Hell don't. This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever had the displeasure of reading. This isn't a thread, this is a completely ludicrous flame fest. WHO CARES ABOUT HIS SLEEVES??? Back to the ORIGINAL topic, they should make decent robes. Someone should close this. The fact that it is still open is sickening.
