As we are on at the time we need to be to break the record of "most members" on SSG. Simply post "HERE" "PRESENT" "AQUI" etc. to break the record for fastest growning thread.
I thought it was decided to break the record on a different day.

For some reason...I was thinking we were supposed to be here at 9:11pm PACIFIC standard time. Sorry, I was not able to make it. I was here in spirit, however.
I was at work and couldn't get online. :(
I wonder how many of the 377 users on 3-10 we registered users? If most of them were guests, I don't see how you can plan to break the record - the Clone War trailer premiered on TV that day, so I think a bunch of people went online to check things out . . . but I'd be curious to know how many were guests and how many were registered users on 3-10.

Well, I was not able to get on the computer at the time. But, as you can see, the record was not broken.

I wasn't here, I didn't know it was still on . I was probably fast asleep. I thought SirSteve closed to forum for a bit instead. Anyway, I'll be here next time you all decide to break it.

I appreciate the desire for a memorial but didn't think that breaking an attendance record was what I wanted to do, so I decided to stay off until midnight.

I wasn't able to make it either. Had a previous engagement. However I did want to get in the thread and contribute, since we are all remembering 9-11.

I'm sorry I couldn't make it either. I completly forgot.
I was busy soaking up the images on TV of the rememberences of 9/11 yesterday. I logged on about 10ish.
I feel sorry for those who organized it and for those who passionately tried to break the record because this thing was planned many months ago if I recall correctly.
If you try for another date, the only thing that I recommend is that the roll call would start a few weeks or months before instead of a couple of days. Still, many gave it a vailiant effort.

Howzabout we give it another shot? I know it's much less profound than a 9-11 tribute, but how about we go for the record on the day AOTC is released on DVD? I'm sure we'd all have plenty to talk about on that day anyway!

9/11 was not a day that I wanted to be online, much more important to me to be with my family and watching all the memorial services on TV.
Many people were upset that the memorial services were even broadcast, but how could they not be? What kind of backlash would the press have gotten if they ignored the anniversary entirely as many seemed to want them to do?
Anyways, I am glad I got to see the memorial services and all the specials, especially the moment by moment recounts of what happened. Broadcasting all of that wasn't disrespectful in the slightest, ignoring it would have been.

Agreed. Also, the main reason why I was not able to be here at the predetermined time.

And why should anyone be offended by that? This was a tragedy that affected all of us in some form or another. The families of the victims have all had their time to memorialize the event on their own, I'm sure. This day should've, and was, something for us all to share in. Even if we only witnessed the attacks on television. If I had anyway to be there in person to pay my respects to all those who lost their lives that day, I surely would have. Televising the memorials made it possible for me to share in the remembrance.
