Some folks in another forum at Rebelscum have found the new AF wave in Houston, as well as in Austin. It also appears to have hit L.A. since one showed up on e-Bay from that area. Happy Hunting!

Thanks, S4AST. Good luck in your search, too! Will you be buying them if you find them?

I'm anxious to see how the Dooku sailer displays next to the gold-plated Galoob SW sets.

Buy them? You Bet! It's been way too long since I have had the pleasure of finding NEW AF at retail. Repaints just didn't cut it for me. This I am excited about!

BC3, have you seen any AFs in your area? I can't be bothered to trek out to Poole (rough area) to TRU if they haven't got anything but was tyoing with the idea of travelling to The Entertainer as they usually have lots of SW that ain't on the WWW.

Hey Jeddah

Funnily enough I was in the Entertainer in Ellesmere Port today - they have all 3 1st wave AF's @ £14.99 (& they are on the site too).

Both TRU's that I frequent - Liverpool & Preston - have both sold out of AF's.

Haven't seen any 2nd wave yet - check the www.hasbro.co.uk regularly - they are currently selling 1st wave AF for £9.99 - the cheapest price that I've seen them in the UK.

Koolcollectables have the 2nd wave to pre-order @ £14.99 each.

By the way, went into TRU last week only to be horrifed to see the STAR WARS wall GONE and replaced with bloody Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets - it ain't even out until XMAS !!

Doh! and Doh! again.

Cheers BC3, will prolly have a runaround this weekend perhaps. I'll LYK if Entertainer has anything new.

Have you been to the aquarium at Ellesmere?

Certainly have -it's superb.

.....especially the shark tunnel.

The 2 shark species ain't particularly scary (Sand Tigers & Nurse sharks), but some of them look pretty damn big when they swim over your head.

If you ever find yourself "up North", its well worth a visit.

I have also been to the Sealife centres @ Blackpool & Birmingham, but EP is by far the best.

Cheers

Sand tigers on TV tonight on that Steve Leonard programme on BEEB1.

Funnily enough my sister lives in Chorlton and her beau in Cheadle Hulme. They went across country on a jolly last year and nevet stopped telling me about the pike. I can't wait to go.

I see Steve Leonard quite regularly (well 4 or 5 times) when I go shopping in Lancaster on Saturdays - it's where his vets practice was and I presume that he still has ties/friends up here.

My old office was in Cheadle Hulme - now in delightful Preston tho'.

this morning i had to go to a job site in boca raton, and on the way back to the office i stopped into a super target in deerfield beach.

not really expecting to find anything, i was knocked off my feet, when lo and behold were one of each of the wave II action fleet.

(i asked a store clerk if by chance there happened to be anymore available in the stock room, she actually went out of her way to check:eek: , but unfortunately there were no more to be had:( . if they had more, i would have bought them out so as to make sure that everyone here who wanted one, woulda got......oh well)

the boxes of the solar sailor, and the naboo fighter looked as though someone had a hootenanny on em:sur: . they were badly damaged, but since i open and play with everything, it didn't bother me at all.

the at-te is a fine looking addition to the action fleet line. unfortunately, the way they packed it into the package with all the different twist ties and such, it's nearly impossible to extract, and keep the box pristine. (word to the wise, try and get two if you wanna open it up, and keep the box for future display purposes)

the biggest drag, is that it was not scaled to action fleet figures (sheesh, it ain't even in scale to the mm figures). the cockpit does open up, (tilting to the front to do so). and inside there is a tiny (i'm tawkin small here)molded plastic drivers seat which will never fit anything, let alone a seated figure:frus: . there is also another ridiculously small gunners seat for the main gun on top.

this is a damned if they do and damned if they don't situation. if they had made the gun the appropriate size to accommodate an action fleet figure to sit in the gunners seat, we'd be trashing this thing along the lines of either the skyhoppers gun, the gian speeders double whammy's, and the flash speeders ridiculous appendage. but now that they've made the gun and the seat to scale with the vehicle, i'm upset that i can’t put a figure there in which to man the darn thang. sheeeesh (maybe i'm just like my mother, she's never satisfied.........:o )

the body of the at-te does not open up anywhere, so as to place troops withinside the beast. oh well.

all the guns rotate within their turrets, (and boy are there a lot of em, 6 in all) and the main gun swivels a full 360 degrees. it however does not move vertically up and down. (take off a few brownie points for that gaffe)

each of the legs do move about at the top joint, so that they can be positioned up and down. what is the most stand out feature is that the foot pads are all connected to the legs by means of a ball joint, so that they can also move freely allowing full positioning of the feet.

the front and back sections are fully articulated which allows the vehicle to slither, another way cool design feature.

on a scale of 5 i give it a four, i'm forced to take off a full point due to it not being sized to accommodate af figures. (i don't mind so much about the gunners seat, but the cockpit drives me crazy)

the solar sailor is bizarre. it's really the size of a die-cast. the whole sail attachment assembly is silly. it really is a strange choice for the re-introduction of new action fleet. it doesn't even display properly so that it's nice to look at. the hole for connecting it to the stand is located within the sails plastic mast assembly. when it sits on the stand, the vehicle portion is behind the vertical post, with it's open wings straddling it. if they had made the hole in the body of the vehicle, it would have allowed the whole ship and sail assembly to be displayed in a forward thrust away from the stand, it would have looked much better that way imho.

the vehicle section is really way to small. the detail is horrible, nothing stands out as being attractive or interesting at all. i get more of a thrill from my cloud car than i do this thing.

most annoying is the joint which wraps around the side of the vehicle separating the top portion from the bottom. it's freakin huge when compared to the overall scale of the vehicle as a whole. it really gives this thing a shoddy, terribly built appearance. not at all well thought out and executed. (back to the drawing board boyz..........please!)

when the sails attached it can swivel from side to side (which is probably the best thing that i can find to say about this toy). when the sail assembly is disconnected, the flaps on the vehicle can then close. (when in the closed position, the thing looks like some kind of cheap lighter)

on a scale of 5, this thing gets a one, only cause the sail can swivel, other than that, blech.

another annoying issue, are the vehicle flaps (wings), they don't snap into the open position, they just kinda stay there loosely. i can already tell, that after only a few days of playing with this thing, the top flaps will prolly not stay in the open position convincingly. really a cheap toy all around. this thing truly feels like it was meant as a design prototype for the development of a really cool toy down the road. oy

the naboo fighter is a rehash in every way of the original version. this one has been spruced up with tons of scorching and battle marks.

the droid pops up and down, just like on the 1st release. the landing gear feels chintzier than the original release.

the only reason why i'm happy to have this guy, as it will make a nice variation with which to place into the naboo hanger/final conflict playset. just for that alone, it's well worth getting.

the clerk did tell me that they're scheduled to receive a new hasbro shipment next tuesday, and that i should check back on wednesday morning to see if they got any more wave II.

i'll keep you guys posted.

Scored wave 2 today as well. I may end up returning the Naboo Fighter after I snap a 'boxed' photo for my site. Not sure yet. It's kinda cool, but I was never a big Naboo Fighter fan. The AT-TE is very cool though. Nice to see a new SWAF.

I think that pretty much says it all, GSJ.

Ouch...

Thanks for the excellent post/review on wave2.

The re-deco Naboo Fighter looks as though it was used to clean the grill at Denny's.

Very sad.

LOL! I couldn't agree more with that assessment, I spent a few moments giving it the once-over at Target this weekend and felt it wasn't really something I could put $10 into since I already have 2.5 of 'em; it just didn't have a fantastic new deco.

Well how the heck are you supposed to display it in "flight" mode if it's got no frickin pilot behind the wheel?

good shot jansen

before i get into that, with regards to the new naboo fighter.

i tried to stick (shove, mash, wedge, etc.) both the ric ollie figure, and the naboo pilot which came with the series alpha naboo fighter into the cockpit of the new fighter. no luck there. these boys are just to big to fit (actually, it's the dayum molding of their flight dusters which make it impossible to put these guys behind the wheel). i then took the alpha series b-wing pilot, and was able to get him wedged in there preety good (not sure if he's ever coming out though:eek: ), and am satisfied with how he looks behind the controls. until this new assignment to brave squadron, the alpha series b-wing pilot was manning the quad cannons inside the falcon, as i didin't have any other place to put him. so yes, you can squeeze a pilot other than the diminutive anakin into the naboo fighter.

as fer my re-assesment of the sailer. i still think the ship is a lousy action fleet, cause quite frankly, it doesn't give the palyability that the action fleet was originally intended to give.

but last night i was looking closely at it, and then compared it to the die-cast size vehicles, as well as some micro machines. when considered as a part of either of those lines in lieu of action fleet, it's really quite a nice vehicle.

i was swooshing it around the room in my left hand, while in the right i escorted it around with the sisko sailor, and was quite content with how the two interacted with each other.

the gossamer effect of the sail with it's dusky hue ringed in gold is actually well executed.

and then when i chased it around the sky's of masons room with the jc penny x-wing, the proportions felt right.

if hasbro had released the sailer as part of the die-cast line of ships, we'd all be loving this thing big time, as it certainly offers more movable parts and play configurations than the toys released in that line. it's size fits that line of toys so well.

the problem with the sailer is that it is not now, nor will it ever be an action fleet toy, it never should have been released as one. if hasbro does decide to come out with either a diecast line or even new micro machines, then the sailor becomes a must have, as it fits those line so well.

if you collect and or appreciate the smaller than action fleet lines, i recommend you pick up the sailer, and enjoy it for what it is, not for what it's supposed to be.

a note to vt, as we just had a harvest moon two nights ago, the sailer would be a wonderful ship to display on those magical autumnal nights or as a centerpiece to a late afternoon thanxgivin' feast!

GSJ, I've been able to get the Ric Olie/Naboo pilot figures into the E1 AF Naboo Fighter, it just won't allow the canopy to slide so I had to remove it and then clip the canopy back into closed once the figure was in place. The arms almost didn't fit but they finally did. Is it like this with the Saga version?

JT: I never tried putting any figure other than Anakin into the Naboo Fighter before but I dod remember it wasn't as easy as it should be to put him in and remove him and he's a bit smaller than the regular sized AF figures.

yep, that's zackly what it's like, if ric's the captain, the naboo's a rag top fer sure.

at least with the alpha b pilot, the canopy slides back.

A rag top? What's a rag top. That's a dredded person in my parlance. (Oh, I remember the days that I was called rag-head when I had me braids :D The amount of times people shouted; "Oi, Beyoncé!" at me I can't count ;)

JK of course, her legs are bigger :D

As a customiser/scratch builder, I was toying with the idea of vacuforming a new sail for my Solar Sailer when I pick one up. Does anyone have any autre outre ideas? (I have played around with wire hangers and cling film but it looks cheap and the gold spray melted the proto.

GSJ, it seems the obvious choice for a non-kiddie-anakin AF pilot for the Naboo fighter would be.......

WEDGE Antilles :p

Have you tried him yet?

i stopped into targets, and all they had on the shelves from wave II was the naboo fighter. the boxes were in horrible shape (looked like someone had placed them on the ground, and then proceeded to jump up and down on them).

if the packages were in good condition i would have picked at least one up for ya swafman, but they were really in terrible condition, so i let them stay.

i have to go down to miami today, and there are several targets and wla-marts along the way, i'll stop in and see what i can find.

until i hear differently from ya swaf, i'll keep pluggin' til i find you at least one of each of the new waves (preferably in decent packaging). if i do find either the sailer or the at-te in bad packaging, but the toys are in good shape, i'll still pick that up fer ya, as i know that you also want openers to go with your boxed collection. i just didn't bother with the busted packaging naboo's mailny cause they're just re-hashes.

i'll post later as to whether i'm successful or not

I got you a complete set, SWAFFY, if you are still in need. I sent you an email but I remember you said you might be moving so I'm not sure if you email has changed. Th AT-TE and Naboo Fighter have price tags on them. LMK if that is a problem. Otherwise, the boxes are in good condition.

Thanks Haggie & GSJ. I've taken Haggie up on his offer for a set of the new SWAFs. They will be my boxed display set. Still looking locally (and if anyone else sees any) for another set as openers, and yet another set for JediGoofy (he'd like good boxes).

Since my next set will be openers, box condition is a non-issue as long as the ships are undamaged.

I'm still looking in this area (2 walmarts, 1 target & a kaybee), and still no joy. But, if anyone else is still looking for themselves, please post or PM or e-mail me, and I'll keep a lookout for your needs along with my own.

:)

SWAFFY, if you do find an opener set you may want to refrain from opening them until my set to you arrives. You never know with the post office. I've received some really crunched boxes before. I'll do my best to pack it well but once it's outta my hands, who knows what could happen.

This sucks, I've been to every Wal-Mart, Target and TRU within roughly 50 miles of where I live and the only AF I see is the first wave. And thats only at Target. Wal-Mart and TRU around Pittsburgh doesn't seem to carry AF.

Hope you will see more stuff on the shelves for Christmas...

(two Hasbro commercial managers talking together).
- What ?
- I've just reveived a fax from my boss and I'm fired !
- Ooooooh God ! Why ?
- Well, it says the big boss received a letter from a furious guy calling himself "SUPERCOLLECTOR, the dispenser of justice". He wrote he cannot find the latest AF waves in any store...
- In one hand, he's right. We don't really care about our customers but in the other hand we're selling merchandises and people buy them all... Then : What's wrong ???
- I can't understand that... Who's that guy ; another teenager in sort of ridiculous outfits... They aren't able to understand the real business !
- Sure they can't.

HEADLINES : "SUPERCOLLECTOR" IS BACK IN TOWN.
