Toy Fair mag states a Oppo Ransis fig in the works!

:) Well in the new Toy Fair magazine I just got. They had an interview with the dude that played Rune Hakko,and Oppo Ransis he then said that Hasbro has plans for a Oppo Ransis fig! he then said he wants them to put wheels on HIM?

If anything he should get a bendy bottom half (like the Nexu's tail); since, according to what we saw in Ep2, he is somewhat serpentine in appearance.

When I first read that, I thought he said that he wanted Hasbro to make one, and then I thought he was offering what Hasbro should do with it: make the wheels (he has a "wheely Jesus figure). But I just re-read it:


I believe Hasbro has plans to make Oppo Rancisis, the Jedi councillor, and given that he doesn't have legs, only a tail, it would seem the most perfect time for Hasbro to do a wheely action figure.

So, that doesn't mean that Hasbro's going to put wheels on him, it's just what Jerome Blake thinks Hasbro should do with it :crazed:

This is typical of actors, The guy who played Admiral Ozzel was told by a fan that hasbro planned to make a figure of his character and he went round telling everyone it ewas a fact then got terribly disappointed when the figure wasn't made. Actors should learn not to listen to rumour from excitable fans. :) You could say that Hasbro has plans for a ggreat many figures but whether those plans will ever see the light of day is something else entirely.
hasbro may be considering the rest of the episode one Jedi council members for some sort of return to cinema scenes but as they've just showcased their current screen scenes idea with the trash compactor sets it's fair to assume that this is how all future cinema scene type sets will be presented. That being the case then the Jedi council sets would possibly be more 2-packs.
This hypothetically would mean that Oppo rancisis, Yareal Poof, yaddle and Depa Billaba could be made as two sets that would link together. Yareal and Oppo are technically quite large jedi characters and Yaddle and Depa are smaller so split them equally across two sets and shove in the base and chairs and that would make a saleable, sizeable piece.
However that's not to say i think they'll be created at all. Just a speculative assumption. It would be a nice way to round out the council though.
I personally have no desire for an Oppo figure since I think he's a bad design, but I do have a yen for a Yaddle figure and a Yareal Poof figure. Depa is another I'll take or leave, not very interesting either visually or in backstory. But it would be nice to see more ethnicity in action figures and having an Indian/Hindi jedi would be very cool. I know that the guy who played Eeth Koth is Indian/Hindi or thereabouts but Depa would be the first of her ilk to be truly represented. It would be a nice change from all the Western white faces on figures. Panaka and Typho alone do not answer the requirements of black and Indian asian children who like to see their own races depicted in action figure toys as something to relate to.
That's a lot of waffle but my point is pretty clear I hope.

Oppo 'goatboy' Rancisis is the Jedi council member to the right of Even Piell the pink Yoda-a-like. He has a hairy face and big topnot 'do' with green skin. His hands have long fingers with talons and he has a snake tail as the lower half of his body. In the phantom menace we see him sitting on the coils of his tail and this was re-used for the council scenes of 'clones'. I can't remember if we see him in the arena or not but he's a pretty crap design for a jedi but a little different in terms of not being a bipedal Jedi.

Mybe if he is kinda snake, he'll need somekind of wheelchair to move around, I know it's silly because if Yoda has his own floatign chair why not Oppo ?

Maybe to add some variety to Sw universe, but to include Yoda's flying chair would be cool also
