. . .which, added to $2.62 price, makes your final total $4.60; payment specs have been emailed to you :)

sighted: mm-sized 1980 dc buckrogers ship w/deployable wings (http://freespace.virgin.net/james.hobson/sci.htm), $15, but seller has had this same one for Years so if anyone's interested i'll try to bag it for $10 or less :)

"Nice gets on the accessories, sweet"
-yeah, glad to hear Someone here in mm-land can appreciate what an improbable triumph it was- yay for me :classic:

"tell that to someone who doesn't have this piece"
-actually i did, namely myself- to wit: annoyed at being tricked into buying the 1st 5 3-pax before the le box 1 offered ent-a xclusively, i'd long resigned to not going after it since it'd mean buying 15 mms i already had. but as i raconteured on the galooBB years ago, one of the several miraculous suMMer '97 finds that inspired me to assist fellow mm collectors ever since was when b'jr & i came across three le 1 boxes at a discount store for $10 each. as you've no doubt gathered, his mm collecting emphasizes multiples, as opposed to my one-of-everything style. so he was happy to bag all 3 boxes- in all their redundancy- and trade me the ent-a from one in xchange for a few doubles which, despite my best efforts, galoob had tricked me into acquiring the previous 4 years :D the lesson: stand firm and everything you're meant to have will eventually be yours on Your terms :D

"referring to, the Kenner/Hasbro full-size one"
-yep, that one; found in thrift store for $1 :) b4 that found 2 of same's vintage version for similar prices, which i subsequently gave to b'jr upon baggin the mid-90s upgrade (in fact, early-90s price tag's still visible (http://r2toyforce.net/IMAGES/aut_4209bjcollectionupstairs_7fcrop.jpg) :greedy: ). of course all had some part strippage, but whatta i care about dat :)

-inaccurate? you mean the x-wingy side guns? as your ds9techman will make clear, sarat Did have such guns even tho the mm omits them :Ponder:

I dunno VT, the Kenner/Hasbro Falcon is pretty badly misshapen IIRC (it's been a while since I seen one, I refused to get one my whole life). But, at a buck, I suppose who can complain?

"-a qualifier which illustrates exactly why scifi mms were such a landmark, one which demarcates collecting eras into Before and After MMs, to wit: After, the bar for acceptable ease, detail, value & fun was irrevocably raised "
- except not many have picked up the gauntlet now that it's 'after', except for the rare heres and theres, it's become 'before' and 'never again' for the toy industry. Maybe the Japanese pieces and the upcoming Playing Mantis pieces will change the way the industry does this, but I'm not holding my proverbial breath on that one. I still submit that Art Asylum (now owned by Jakks Pacific, which bodes very poorly for all involved) is sitting on a gold mine that they refuse to tap by not producing small-size Trek ships.

"inaccurate? you mean the x-wingy side guns? as your ds9techman will make clear, sarat Did have such guns even tho the mm omits them :Ponder:"
- Despite what the book says, the Toga was seen on film and had no such guns. The EU can suggest there's a second saucer section on the Defiant for all I care, it's the images we see on screen that produce the scale by which we judge accuracy here. I can't imagine why this book would say that, I can't wait to see it. I thumbed through it when it first came out and found its details on the Defiant sorely lacking, but that could have been from not really digging in.

"yep, that makes ent-e instead- or maybe them hippo-like deltaquad "hierarchy" aliens holodoc encountered"
- Like Voyager, Ent-E has no neck at all. Have I mentioned recently how nice the pewter keychain Ent-E is? This sucker just screams "Micro Machine", it's far more accurate than the official MM version. Don't remember those aliens.

at the risk of getting you started, I totally agree about the entire issue of tax $ for sports stadiums. I also agree there is an insanely overblown amount of attention to sports in our culture. While I do enjoy watching the RedWings, and will keep a NASCAR race on the boobtube if I find it while surfing, that is about the extent of my interest in pro sports. I cannot name a single Wings player by their jersey number (but can pick them by their face or pattern of movement on the ice), and only know a few stock car drivers by sight or car number, so I'm hardly a fanatic even about those two sports. This is going to be a rant, so I'll spare the SSG MM/AF crowd from the ramblings to come, and move the remainder of this post to e-mail (that is, of course, if your !*#$%^&*?~"{/*-+`><} ((darn! ran out of curse-word-substitute characters!!!!)) Oh you mean this?:

lbc: also lmk how important packaging is to you, i.e. mind if i bend any/all cards to ship in smallest possible box?

I've been thinkin about it and I'd kinda prefer for them to be left as they are right now so I can compare'em to the ones I have carded now, should be able to put all four in one box though and it'll probably be $4.95. There's a basic rectangle box the post office has that fits 4 figures (stacked bubble to bubble in an *ahem* 69 posistion.. :nervous: ) perfectly. I'd guess no matter how you packed'em the figs would still cost around $4 to ship anyways. That ok?

Yes, I too have been recently wondering where our errant MM forums moderator has disappeared to. He's left me a mod short and it's only by the relatively-good behavior of the MM crowd that I'm not freaking out over it.

VT, if waitstaff controlled the MM-style Sci Fi market, your efforts would surely have gotten us a treasure of spaceship riches.

Yes, I loves me POTJ & beyond Imp blasters, they's my preciouses... However, I don't know what color of saber blade you speak, I have enough little blue saberless-blades to choke a horse, but none seem to have any purple in 'em. Got a specific figure in mind that came with one of this hue of which you describe?

Nice job with the Futura ships, I'll probably want in on that. Keep me posted please.

HOLY FUDGE! Those STMM 3pack prices are heartstoppers! Please give the scalper in question a purple nurple from me next time you see him... or just shoot him dirty looks, whichever doesn't get you charged with a crime.

Hi VT, I've never gotten around to getting the Furuta Trek ships, mainy since they aren't Galoob. Anyways, if you're getting a bunch of them I'd love to get a set (I don't even know how many there are, bu would like them all). Oh and I've noticed Trek MM sets XV and XVI seling for around 75.00 lately on ebay, so if you can;t talk that guy down to much you'd probably be better off just checking out ebay for them, 75.00 for set XIII seems really high as well. Oh and if anyone is looking for Trek MM set XI, I think there are about 3 of them up on ebay now, so maybe it would be a good time to get it for a decent price.

-apparently they're analogous to trading cards you buy in a vending machine in that they're uniformly packaged so the contents can't be ascertained til after you buy & open them. which makes our going in on an arrangement like this (all buying a bunch together) the best option to maximize our chances for complete sets. of course it neccessitates i or tokjoe open every one, so lmk if that's acceptable :)

I'd hate to see those end up in the hands of scalper scum. But on the other hand, the Trek packs have 3 ships each while the Ep 1 sets are:

Also, I have finally brought up to London Baal's miniheads and Rancors (I had forgotten about the Rancors) so I can send them and settle some of my debt with VT. Nice to be missed

Also, [getting ready to dodge the ire] I have just got back from a long trip to Atlanta which left me with a lot of catching up to do....

Finally, there are some massive changes going on with the company I work for and these will impact my situation here in London. I will update the board of my movements and in the meantime, my email addresses have been changed slightly... my work one is still valid (aspectworld) and VT has 2 others for me as I no longer use jeddah@paradigm-shift etc due to 400 odd emails offering me all sorts of vulgar offers.

Sorry VT, no Saga Plo Koon or Sassy Tin either.

Blue saber blades come with a lot of Jedi figures, nearly every Anakin figure for example. I dunno really. When I looked at my main saber pile, I see 2 different shades of blue, but neither seem even remotely purpley to me.

. . .that transforms into future "all good things" version, $25; lmk :)

ltb: you didn't answer my $40 le 2 set quextion, and scalper didn't bring by $110 kaztorp/array 3-pack so couldn't verify or move on either of those; but did have opened-but-complete LE box 3 for $50, and i talked him down to $40 :D proof-of-purchase has been cut off box but otherwise in great shape. i recall you still seek ent-e and miradorn so how's this sound: your get those two ships (and the box if you want it), b'jr gets the remaining 14 ships, and you guys split the cost ($20 each) deal? and if you want to trade its unbent voyager for your warped one we can do that too, esp. if you have any xtras you can lay on b'jr :) lmk if any of this sounds good, otherwise i know bjr'll be happy to take all 16 ships for $40 :greedy:
quextion answers: 1- idunno, i thought there was a that-colored blade detachable from the handle, 2- don't recall any spikes, just a nice smooth rod and 3- since you ask i spose i'm Not sure :Ponder: but yes, excellent, thanx for pic referral ltb, that's Exackly the shade of blade i meant; so cough one up horsey jt :silly: meanwhile jt, i bagged apr '00 issue of st mag for $1, will enclose that after reading & rippin out stuff i wanna keep from it

let's cross fingers that scalper don't remember to charge me tax, as he didn't for le3 set (but Did for prev-bagged #11 & 12 3-pax and dctb) :) but if he does i'll be sure to insist on a receipt, a la worf to sisko: "at the first sign of treachery i Will kill garak- but, i promise to bring the body back" (ds9's "in purgatory's shadow" ) ;)

-alas, i'm afraid i'm not offering you that option  so plz lmk if you desire ent-e and miradorn (and le3 box, if you want) for $20. also lmk what you decide about offered straightened-voyager help :)

"don't wanna sound greedy"
-no worries, i don't concern myself w/how a person "sounds"- and for that matter feel free to ask Why i'm not offering you the whole le3 set, cuz i also don't mind if you "sound" nosy ;)
on related trivia note, in acquiring this latest box i noticed a slight packaging variant: lower-numbered le3 boxes (~the 1st ten thousand?) sport the yellow lettering (for "introducing ent-e" and "special display stands inside" captions, as well as edging the Trek logo) as seen in '97 trek fanclub catalogs. but later boxes changed the yellow to the silver used elsewhere on the box, while shifting the color of the trek logo itself from an orangey to a more rosey red. dunno the why for this vagary, but personally i prefer the earlier version, it's more punchy :D

Sorry VT, I don't have an extra POTJ Sassy Tin saber and I ain't giving up the one I do have. Sassy had his own color of saber, I don't think it came with any other figures, but perhaps the Saga Sassy had this same color of saber (cheap Hasbro bastages) and he was one of the "we can't give these f'ers away" clearance figures IIRC.

Sneak. :p Don't suppose you could throw in the Jem'Hadar ship in there, or would that contradict as to why you're not offerin that? :D

'Spose sounds like a great deal, considering cheapest I've seen the Miradorn usually go for alone is around $8. So $12+/- is frickin awesome for the Ent-E. It's not bent or anything right? :)

As for Voyager, I would just I really take a sentimental attachment to things like that. That make me a fool? :([/

Nah the AOTC/CW Saes came with green sabers. However he did have his POTJ lightsaber with the POTJ sculpt in the TRU Jedi 4-pack. Those aren't going anywhere, so I'm sure eventually they'll mark'em down for dirt cheap. And you could probably get some interesting stuff outta it VT. -hear that, jt? there are always possibilities, so you keep eyes peeled for any such Opportune Opportunities, & i'll enclose potj impblaster :)

"It's not bent or anything right?"
-uh, that's what She asked last nite ;) in my experience they're all bent, but not uncorrectably so; boil & bend should easily remedy, i'll even do it myself if you want :)

"Don't suppose you could throw in the Jem'Hadar ship in"
-oh it's one of your faves too eh? me & b'jr also; anyone else?

"would that contradict as to why you're not offerin"
-only partly; see, since my bountyhuntin skills have allowed me to exercise discretion re who gets what, i generally pursue a "spread the luv, then serve the amazing" metier:
my first priority is to assist fellow collectors in getting at least one of everything they seek. (several of you boast more complete sets thanx to my having talked b'jr into collaborating with me re this policy, which is why he's graciously letting ltb have this ent-e and miradorn :) ) this serves to maximize appreciation for scifi mms as a whole while minimizing needless discouragement of mm desire by scalpers as much as possible, which serves to preserve cohesiveness in the mm community thru these times of drought. which is why i asked lbc (post 730 above) if he already had a dctb when he asked for the one i recently found (we'll disregard for the moment that he's thus far failed to answer said quextion :ermm: ).
and "serve the amazing" means my next priority is a conscious choice to continue augmenting the already-stunning mm fleet numbers of baal and especially b'jr (http://r2toyforce.net/sabretooth.htm) since, to our knowledge, no other sfmm collections in the world come close- baal's thanx to sheer cash expenditure, and b'jr's thanx to having the benefit of my personal touch for years ;) it's analogous to choosing to add to the size & grandeur of the giza & cheops pyramids rather than the also-rans up & down the nile which none of us could likely name. by virtue of their pre-existing exceptionalism i've decided these two collections simply Deserve preferential treatment, and make no apologies for that. cuz these exceptions attract awe and attention (and, at times, envy and resentment) to sfmm collecting as a whole, which raises interest and, in the long run, also benefits all sfmm collectors. as you can see, i'm playing a deep, long-term game here- and given the prevailing conditions, what other choice do i currently have? :smoker:
but as indicated on previous occasions, rather than contradicting each other these two priorities end up serving each other more than might be expected: since b'jr has so damn many, he's been more predisposed to defer the xtra siskosailors, hms k-bops and ent-es i've bagged over the years so the rest of you may more easily complete your collection :)
as always, lmk if any quextions :)

Indeed I do, but like B'jr if I part with them, it's gonna be for a clean deal. ;)

But yeah, sounds good to me on the Set 3 deal. $20 for two ships plus the box (it has the plastic trays and stuff right? Cause then it'll be good for storage if ever required.) As for Voyager, nah thinks. I mean I want a more mint one, but it's such a literal representation of how Voyager tended to be crooked, and quite topsy-turvy. :D

Wow... even $40? Now that's stubborn....I like! :p I don't blame him, it's just really not worth it when you get into those ridiculous prices that end up promoting scalping.

Oh yeah, does the scalper dude have any cheap box set 1's (like $5-10 each? :D) cause I'm lookin for that as well. Though actually I just need a mint one boxed then a loose Ent-A, Excelsior, Klingon D-7, Reliant, Green K-BoP aaannd hopefully after that all I would need is the Kaz Torp and Array.

Saw a couple solar sailers at kaybee today. I know they're the redheaded stepchildren of the AF line, but if anyone wants one, lemme know.

Also saw a couple sets of Lego Bionicle for $3.99. They're the older ones in the cylindrical containers, rather than the newer 3-sided containers. Only reason I mention them is that the white one sort of looks like a cross between a snowtrooper and a battle-droid.

Spotted an interesting marketing idea to try to move two different SW lines of shelf-warmers: a combo-pack of a lightsaber (full-size kid's version) and three 3-3/4" SW figures. Not a great sign for initial store orders for toys from the upcoming SW movie.

They had a pack of what look like brand new MMs, unfortunately not sci-fi. Just bright colored (blue?) trucks, I think. The much cooler things on the peg right next to the MMs were the anniversary edition 007 collector sets, I think these were by Johnny Lightning. Very tempting. Also tempting were the $4.99 Matrix action figures and $14.99 (about 1/2 original price, I believe) Sentinel. Wish they had the APU for that price.

As long as I'm chewing up thread space with OT comments, Suncoast had the best action figure I've seen in a long time. It's one of the Crazy 88's from Kill Bill Vol. 1. One of the guys with the Kato mask. The action feature is a small tube connected to a squeeze bottle (sort of like the thing you squeeze to make water come out of a gag lapel flower). The squirt bottle contains red liquid that sprays out of the severed arm, and is advertised on the box as something like "Blood Spraying Action!" (http://www.necaonline.com/88stream.avi). Not too many years ago, you would only see something like this in a parody kid's toy TV commercial on SNL. You gotta love it!

Swafman, they do have APU's for the 14.95 at KB, you just have to find them. Last week I walked into the KB toyworks store in Springfield, MA and they must've had about 30 of them. They also had that amount of Sentinels and the first playset of the castle from Reloaded.

But, better yet, I picked my APU up at GameStop for $10.00 (they were half price from $19.99)

Now the downside, The APU falls apart by just looking at it. Make sure U pick up a tube of glue too, as the thing is made from dried spaghetti instead of plastic! Mine broke at the middle and an arm broke of at the shoulder (and trust me, I was really very carefull with it as I read about this issue on the inet before I took it out of the box) Still a very cool item though.

And now for something completely different: Micro Machines...

which is why i asked lbc (post 730 above) if he already had a dctb when he asked for the one i recently found (we'll disregard for the moment that he's thus far failed to answer said quextion :ermm: ).

Sorry VT, I had a lingering feeling that you were waiting for an answer from me, on some particular question.

No, I don't own a diecast Tie Bomber, and I apperciate the fact that you snagged one (for only 5 bones, no less :D ) and I will be forever indebted if you can send it to me. I own very few of the tail ender MM and AF ships and vehicles, and know that that particular ship was hard to find. However, if my neglect to answer promptly has blown my chance at obtaining it, I understand (My mom once said, "You'll never get anywhere in life. You procrastinate too much." Know what I told her? "Just wait."(Judy T. ))
I have a bad habit.

I do admire your philosophy VT when it comes to 'sharing the wealth.' What I am flummoxed by is your ability to continually find MM/AF stuff at criminally low prices. Case in point, I went to the popular 'Silver Snail' comic shop in Toronto over the weekend and snagged some Star Wars merchandise. Nothing spectacular, but they have a great selection. I picked up a Predators Transforming Playset for $20 in funny money (roughly $16 U.S. plus GST) and I saw a Jango Fett Slave I AF for that same price. I passed up on the latter since money is limited but I will be in Toronto soon (sometime this Summer) and who knows, it might still be there. Any takers? VT? Let me know, and thanks again for your infectious unselfishness.

Currently US$1.00=JPY110 approx. so, US$5.45 each for JPY600 and US$3.70 each for JPY400.
If OK, I will collect them 1 each for you first. Your budget will be US$34.55 + Tax 5%.
As number of each figure is limited, I will collect them as many as possible if your friends agree to buy at above prices. One of easy ways should be pay-off entirely.
I also will try to find unpacked new one at normal retail shop. So, I may combine them for the balance so that I can reach the amount that you are supposed to invoice me.
-<end transmission>-Hmm, I think those prices might be a little out of my reach once I factor in shipping (which we haven't discussed at all, as far as I know). At nearly $6 each, I am afraid I may have to back out (and I wouldn't want the 400 Yen ships without the others). LMK if that will be a problem since I already said yes and I will definitely work something out with you, I will honor my claim if needed.

Hi, VT. If the Ent e isn't included in the other 9 ships (I know pretty much nothing about the Furutas at all other than I want them, lol) I'd like one of them as well. If 12.00 is reasonable it wil be fine with me, if it's not possible to get one for 12.00 I'd also be willing to pay more, I'd rather get them all at once and not worry about looking for any later. If he can get the series 1 ships as well I have none of them and would really like all 10? of them as well if possible. Whatever is reasonable for them will also be fine.

Thanks,
S43

more like my penpals are, some of which i don't hear from for years and would likely forget to notify of any new address i took :ermm: - So? Keep 1 hotmail account and 1 yahoo account, check them both, or just don't log out of Yahoo and make it easy to jump back in (after a few hours, you might need to re-enter your PW).

in fact i've maintained yahoos in the past (and may still but haven't checked in); only superiority i noticed was storage space, but a big deficit was they didn't have hotmail's "find message" function which let you search the Body of your entire archive via keyword. but now that i think of it it's been a while since i've been able to find that feature on hotmail either, so feel free to educate me on other yahdvantages :) Yahoo mail does indeed have a Search feature that can search messages in any or all folders. They also have expanded spam-destruction powers now, trash and bulk email no longer count against your storage total, they're not Microsoft-owned, you can use older browsers with it, newer browsers can view customized Yahoo Mail colorschemes, Yahoo doesn't spam you every 3 days like Hotmail does, and the main mail page LOOKS like a mail page unlike Hotmail's main page. I dunno, maybe Hotmail has some of that stuff, but I can't find it because Hotmail is such an eyesore and mess to me - I loathe it.

glad you're keepin that in mind; from him to me & from me to you could indeed add up unacceptably :ermm: Any idea on what those costs might be?

jt: "check them both. . . might need to re-enter your PW"
-you think i'm Made out of memory? how complicated a life do you think i Want anyway? ;) sigh, i'll look into it

"Any idea on what those costs might be"
-here's what i know: he & i always ship to each other via cheepest ground (~2 month trip), but that's still more costly than one might xpect for any given weight. anyhoo that cost would be divided by however many's participating in this (4 presently), while i'd guess individual shipping from me to each of you would be ~$2-4 for sets of this weight. & for what it's worth i've seen ent-e in person (at trekcon, for $40) and it looked purty sharp imo (http://freespace.virgin.net/james.hobson/furuta.htm) :)

s43: "If the Ent e isn't included in the other 9 ships"
-nope, it's a 1-in-100 chase ship (see post 764 above); wave2 comprises 10 ships (9 in this case since tj's already indicated 1701 is unavailable) + the 1 chaser.

"If he can get the series 1 ships as well"
-he's indicated they're long gone but i have asked him to keep eyes peeled, as a local contact still needs chase warbird, and i've yet to see furuta's ds9 or ent-a for myself in person (i also ain't seen the vorcha, but judging from pix it looks like a graceless rendition a la their cardie galor so i don't care about that) :p note to all: if bc3's pix are any indication there's a good chance i won't want my ent-d and possibly future ent-d, ent-b or farragut so if anyone can get me an ent-a i might trade any/all those :)

ltb: got back to $40 le2 scalper yesterday but he'd already sold it; ah well, i didn't feel great about that price anyway :p

The Warrior would be for an opener. I suppose if I got one on ebay even for $10, it'd be $15 after shipping. Do you think we should wait & see if his price comes down any more, or go for it now?

I lived in that area for about 6 or 7 years. A family friend was a traffic 'copter pilot, and took me up once for a shift over the city with the radio station traffic reporter. They were one of very few aircraft with permission to overfly much of DC. I took a few pics from the chopper. Was surprised how many of the buildings, which look so huge from the street level, are really built as rings around a large inner court yard. Gives the a larger image of grandeur from the street, but is nearly a Hollywood back lot building facade.

The "moron" comment was because I thought, after already committing to the sale, that it was just the tiny ship from the alpha package, without the larger ship. Thanks to JT's follow-up, I now realize it's the other way around. I'm getting the AF-scale Alpha version of the RSS, less the smaller scale rendition of the original movie version production piece. That's not as bad! Still need to get a complete set with stands to make it a "legal" display, though (plus an opener of the regular RSS).

Paypal has been sending a lot of E-mails lately with policy changes, new fee structures and what not. Seemed an excellent venue for payments in the beginning, but getting a bit too eager to extract $ $ $ from every use. If I was an E-bay seller, I would not accept it, simply because you aren't getting 100% of the auction total. Checks and money orders work just as well, albeit they are slower to arrive.

Speaking of which vt, which do you prefer, a money order or cash in a birthday card? (my money's in the birthday card :crazed: get it?) And I think I need your addy PMed or E-mailed to me, although I think I can piece it together from memory.

Thanks again, my collection would not be as fulfilling without your generosity. :)

As always, I'm ready to send funds immediately. If you still want me to return funds with VTapes, I will, but I don't want to let the repayment wait too long.

Got another couple of the original set of VTapes viewed last week.

Thanks again for everything in the latest shipment!

VT, I got the package you sent, late last week. Everything was accounted for. Loved the artwork on the side of the package. The McQuarrie seemed like a mere rumor in these parts and yet you pick him up on clearance!

Payment was mailed out on Friday via snail mail. Should arrive in Denver towards the end of the week.

Recently, it is becoming more difficult to find those figs at shops such as super market, Seven Eleven etc. So, I have to go find them at 2nd hand shop or comic store. (1) SW figures (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=7823): the dropship, at-te, jedi starfighter, jango slave 1 & anakin bike (http://freespace.virgin.net/james.hobson/tomymicros.jpg): Can I try to find followings at 2nd hand shop if price is within U$6 - U$9?
-only as a last resort o kudasai; i was hoping they would only cost me $2-3 each, like regular micro machines ;)

(2) ST figures: Unfortunately I have not seen followings. nx01 and enterprise-a (http://www.1stopdiecast.com/johnnylightning/StarTrek.htm)
-no problem, maybe they aren't out yet, thanx for continuing to look :)

(3) ST figures ex-Furuta collection #3 (http://freespace.virgin.net/james.hobson/trekfphs.jpg): I have not seen these (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=8462) yet maybe soon? But I already bought ST collection #2 at 2nd hand shop and still am continuing to buy some more.

The sculpture stamp next to the aircraft wing part stamp was very neat, I liked how they both looked industrial yet not.

Was I surprised to find the HMS Bounty in there, had totally forgotten it was coming. Very cool MM, nice paint job. Mine has a few small probs, the wings don't fold down evenly and the sections aren't glued together (which could be related) but it's still a great item. The little mini-wings on the back are a great touch. I also appreciate salvaging its part of the packaging, nice to have.

The imp blaster taped to the bottom was a cool find, almost missed it at first. It's the one from the Saga Chewie w/ 3PO, I can tell because the handle is a little wider. :D

The Mead HW limo in police colors was great, I am glad to have this one out of the packaging, the design is even better than on the card, I love how the body hugs the ground leading to it jutting down to cover the back wheels and then lifting dramatically up for the trunk. Dunno what they made it into a cop car for, and then on the doors and roof it says "Unofficial Police Business", whatever that is supposed to mean (are they dishing out secret beatings in this thing?).

The various mags were quite cool, I thumbed through them all, although the older ones from '86 were a bit delicate. I love seeing all the cool old Trek merchandise. I went through the DS9 book, that'll be going up on my shelf as soon as the cat pee smell starts to go away. I thought you bookmarked some pages but they didn't seem to have any relevance and both were related to the store where it came from.

All in all, a cool package that I wish I had checked out earlier. Hopefully I'll find some time to read the reading material within soon.

did i not also enclose an ep1 repcruiser mm, or is that ltb's pkg i'm thinkin of? i can't recall since it's been so Long :p Me me me, I I I - "I enclosed this", "I can't recall"... :D Seriously though, I meant to reflect on that as well and it simply slipped my mind. This is the last Ep 1 MM that I was missing (I think/hope) and it is very nice. It is clearly from the Die Cast's school of design rather than the Action Fleet's, in that it is slightly more sleek and tapered, especially at the front end. It is too bad they couldn't have done some friggin' Ep 2 MMs, with this quality they would have been awesome.

do mail-order baggins count as huntswag? oh sure, why not. though i invariably adhere to AcquiRule 141 ("only fools pay retail" ), every rule has exceptions: since prev-unreleased john barry scores to White Buffalo, Masquerade (http://www.buysoundtrax.com/masquerade.html) and Appointment (https://secure.filmscoremonthly.com/store/detailCD.asp?ID=272) are each limited to 3000 copies i'd be unlikely to score them 2nd-hand. but recently got all 3 for $59- including postage- via an old nemesis (http://moviemusic.com/) no less, after over a year of diligent followup on both our parts :D to paraphrase grilka to quark (ds9's "house of quark" ep), he may not've been much of a moderator (and of course he prolly didn't think much of My forumming), but he's a Helluva businessman :D like me he clearly heeds rule #177: "know your enemies, but do business with them always" :greedy:
note to all: thanx to hotmail's recent 100x capacity increase you can safely assume anything sent to either of my primary hotmail addresses Will Not Bounce, so slough off any gunshyness borne of past incidents, and send away :) (yep, got your email bc3, thanx :) )

ltb: "didn't get the email I last sent?"
-i got the brief one axin about your total, but what i'm Really awaiting is your remarx on the pkg :D

jt: "The manual, I'm afraid"
-hmm, maybe That xplains the $6 price :p on other hand, iirc the shop in which i bagged it (http://www.blackandread.com/) may've have a resident roaming cat (why must so (http://www.jerrysrecordexchange.com/jerstore.htm) many (http://www.twistandshout.com/Category.cfm?CategoryID=216) otherwise Classic shops indulge in this :p ) so price may or may not've preceded catpee :Ponder:

"football-linebacker"
-that rings a bell; was it Trek3's dvd xtras that they detailed how the kbop's design was thusly influenced (shoulderpad-y baffles, faceguard-y frontbar etc)?

"the only way I'm likely to get you funds"

I suspected the cat pee affected the price, but when I thought about it, it's not like this sort of thing is highly in demand and it never garnered the big bucks to begin with. I dunno why so many used bookstores have cats wandering their aisles, but as my mom is a big book aficionado, I too have seen this many times before.

Trek 3 DVD, yes, that's the one where the linebacker reference was shown. I never saw it till he pointed it out, now I can't NOT see it. ;)

After digging through my email archives, I figured out what was going on with the "label", I meant the PO's $0.00 price label. That's what you get when you ask questions 20 days later. :D (I should talk, I still haven't opened some emails I have from July)

I forgot. :o :o :o :nerv: :stupid: :speech:

I'll comment now! Hows that? Yeah...don't hurt me please. :nerv:

Figures- All the Clonies came in great condition, I figured they would have been worn or something from being marked down but they're pretty crisp. I haven't opened them yet due to lack of display space (it's seriously cutting into alot of my figures wanting to be opened..).

Enterprise-E & Miradorn- VT...I will love you to the end of the Earth and beyond. They both look very awesome next to my ships, but really...I never thought I'd have the Ent-E. I figured I was SOL from the fame of it, I mean it's one thing to find the HMS for a decent price because people might not think of it much just cause it's a Kling BoP, but the Ent-E is hardly just "I have these ships" material...

Collector's Set III Box- Even without the ships, it looks impressive. I don't know why, maybe it's the size and having all the ship shapes there...like a cloaked fleet. :D The UPC being removed isn't too bad, I didn't know it would be on the very bottom side so it doesn't get in the way for a display. Though I need to find a place to display it...

Klingon Electronic communicator- Odd piece, though I may try to search out the Federation versions because this is pretty cool. I haven't taken the white bar out to hear the sounds or taken it out of the package, but it's surprisingly got some nice detail to it.

I'm sorry it took me so long to comment, we've really had some stuff going on here with financial situations but they seem to be straightening out as of now. Thanks tons again VT. :) Let me know again what the final price was and if you can get an exchange of some of those commons I needed plus maybe an Ent-A from B'jr in trade for extras.

JediTricks

Is that the Klingon Electronic Communicator that is a detailed plastic badge with a small electronic box that holds onto the back magnetically? If so, it's really awesome, has a tone and a quick Klingon response. Mine needs new batteries, so I don't remember exactly what the voice is like (I remember it was pretty loud and believably Klingon), but it was well-detailed. The other 3 in the series are just as nice, I got 'em all at once and their batteries are all wearing down at different amounts of time even though they all have the same amount of use. The TNG badge has a great, accurate sound but the voice is a little on the generic side, "Enterprise here, how many to beam aboard?". The Bajoran badge has an even louder, yet still accurate sound, and uses the same generic voice guy but with a less-uncool line "Ops here, go ahead". The VOY badge is my favorite but is the least loud, same dude again saying "Bridge here, status report".

"(le3) looks impressive"
-yeah, i've said this before but due both to its violet palette and its esoterica-skewed contents mix it's always been my all-time-fave sfmm packaging

"Let me know again"
-according to my 4/21, 5/11, and 7/6 posts above: $20 ent-e/miradorn/le3box + $2.52 x 3 sacts + $1.25 sact = $28.81 you owe me so far -that is if we reach an mm ship trade agreement; otherwise, add $5.55 shipping for a $34.36 total :greedy:

Good ol' VT, always looking out for parity among us collectors. ;) I am still looking for a Clonie, and I have an enticing offer on the table (see link in signature line) but so far, many seem to have balked. I've been seeing swapping come up a lot lately, while I don't understand why someone would risk jailtime for a ten dollar toy, it seems NONE of these employees ever notice anyway.

I just remembered you mentioning the Mayweather comm cause I meant to tell you I did a little digging around some months back and apparently the Maywatcher comm was canceled. I don't think it even got to production stage... That's one reason why the T'Pol one is also hard to find because the line was canceled while she was in production apparently.

I guess it got canceled due to Archer and Reed not selling well. Whoda thunk that people wouldn't want to plunk down $25 on such a measly section? They probably should've priced them at $20 or so and released Archer, Reed, Hoshi, T'pol and Mayweather all at once. That would probably have given people more will to get the whole set...

JediTricks
11-29-2004, 11:18 PM
Yeah, the helm station (btw, it's not "comm", it's "conn" or "con") set never got released. I think these sets bombed for three reasons: 1) it's the exact same figure as the basic; 2) the noises have you cycle through instead of having dedicated buttons; 3) "Enterprise" has not been a very strong draw. I didn't know the T'pol w/ science station ever got released, but I'm pretty sure the Silik w/ Klank on torture table set didn't get off the ground.

LTBasker
12-01-2004, 09:44 AM
Yea the T'Pol set was released in small number apparently, not small enough to warrant huge ebay prices though. One reason is probably because she seems to have the exact same piece that Reed came with. (Understandable, they look the same on the show) Dunno if the sounds are changed though.

Were these figures ever really distributed well? I never saw them at my regular TRU or KB. I only saw the Enterprise figures once at Target, and then I saw some of the ENT peg-warmers a few months ago at a different TRU. As for the TOS figures I've only seen them at Suncoast and Gamestop, but never in very good numbers. It's like one case and they're done.

JediTricks
12-02-2004, 06:43 PM
My TRU got swamped with those stupid deluxe sets, so did Target, but they had the sense to clear them out faster.

Releasing that T'pol set with the piece Reed had (it was identical in the proto) was stupid because she also has that wall behind her that she does more stuff with. They really went the wrong way here, and now there's a half-completed bridge.

LTBasker
12-02-2004, 11:05 PM
You can get the T'Pol set at Amoktime.com for $25 if you need it, but yeah. She often uses the eye-scanner that's similar to what Spock used and it's on the back wall.

On AA's trek forum theres actually a couple threads devoted to trying to get the Mayweather station made, but it seems to be a pretty dead in the water issue.

AA should've tried to get something in on that Xindi war arc with Macos, Mayweather's bridge station and some Xindi figures it probably would've done really well.

JediTricks
12-03-2004, 10:43 PM
Honestly, I don't think there's enough of a market for Enterprise items right now, the show is not doing well in the ratings and is spotty with the fan-base, but they should have gotten Mayweather's Helm station out somehow just to fill in the bridge better, even if just as an AA exclusive or something.

AA should take a note from the Exclusive Premiere company's playbook in 1 area though, they should include mini-Trek ships with their figures. :D

Since there are NO mini trek ships currently, within the parameters of the discussion, the options were either the small ships to come with figures or the current status quo which is no ships at all, you opted against the former.

Glad they arrived, sorry I forgot the rechargable batteries, until I clicked that link I didn't even know what "the batts" meant so obviously they were nowhere near on my mind. BTW, I compared my JL delorean on my desk to the one I had in storage that I sent you, they were identical except that the one from my desk is filthy with dust. :D As a toy, I can see why the JL one's dimensions are more appealing, but the HW one is much closer to the real car's dimensions. I will definitely give it to you on the DMC grill logo though and even add that the undercarriage is superior as well. Heck, now I wish I hadn't sent off the clean one. ;) I am kidding on that... slightly.

As for the checks, I'm really not kidding, I haven't got a check to send you, even post-dated (which never occurred to me to send you before when I did have checks, I'm a sickeningly honest person about such things). I have almost $60 in my Paypal, but you don't want paypal and I still don't have checks unfortunately, so it'll have to wait a little longer.

(in all that time i did however get around to cutting the gullwing doors from model's body so that they can be opened, which, unbelievably, model's original design didn't allow )I'm not surprised, that's how so many models have been in my lifetime, I think it's partly why pre-built 1/18th and 1/24th scale metal cars are so popular right now while model building is nearly dead.

-i thought the opposite, and i've had, shall we say, 1st-hand experience with a dmc12 but what do you make of hole atop hw dmc engine that looks almost like a refueling plug to some playset? I've seen the actual prop at Universal Studios back in the day, it's very close to the SunStar 1/18th car which I got for xmas '03 (total surprise, my dad had no idea how great a gift that was) and that SunStar piece is very close to the HW version.

That half-hole on top of the engine looks like a molding point or something, the box it's part of on the real prop is solid on top.

-what a pile o Crap eh? pinched face like an insect and a pelvis that looks like a pair of Diapers Yeah, an insulting dismal piece of garbage, I felt dirty and stupid buying it.

As for Target clearance figs, I'm looking for OTC IG-88 and OTC (or Saga) Bossk for $3.50 or less; VOTC R2 and Stormtrooper for $5; and Post-OTC Rabe, Yarua, Sly Moore, Feltipern Trevagg, Myo, and Dannik Jerriko for $4 each.

"makes you wonder how it ended up on MTV"

by this time last year my hunt season was well underway, but it's been slower warmin this year & it's no fun makin them rounds til the highs are at least 65-70f. even so:
report: baggins
cassettes 4me: $.50 bowie's Low (so now i'll be familiar w/glass' source material (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000040US/qid%3D1109913969/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/002-7895773-3068813)) and harold budd's White Arcades, $1 :)
cds 4me: $1 bruce brubaker's Inner Cities (john adams piano music), a $1 decon comp (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000002X0G/qid=1109912293/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/002-7895773-3068813), cece peniston's Finally, $1 bryan ferry's Boys And Girls and $2 sade's Love Deluxe (so no longer need my cassette of last 2) :)
for libradonate/VTape club: $1 almodovar's Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down, $1 Happy Accidents (d'onofrio, tomei; not yet Humped) and $1.50 Free Enterprise (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/showpost.php?p=259455&postcount=214) :D also sighted jaglom's Babyfever for $1, lmk if interested swaffy; according to my '00 hump i found it "better than his Last Summer In The Hamptons but not as good as V/V" :) v-tapes for b'jr (tho i spose we Could include them in vtape club if you wish, swaffy): DS9 "crossover" & "the wire" eps, $1.50 each :)
also for b'jr: 1 each of the 6 jl trek ships, all srp: 1701 (w/numerous surface markings not included on the mm of this), reliant (nice colors but the same-size furuta model of this has way superior detail), d7, galil & rombop (feh, feh & Feh :p ) and nx01 which i got 2 of (1 for me; its metallics are out of season so i'll keep unopened for 3 months in case price drops) :) also found me r4g9 for $5.88, a buck less than prev. paid- of course, my Goal price for this is under $3, so one dollah down, 3 to go :greedy:
for tokyo joe: kmart cantina 3-pax w/xclusive kitik & tallbluesnag, $13 each (down from $21) :) also $.50 loose alpha atat (just the mini, not the af) and was able to xchange the prev-reported $3 votc han & ben i bagged at wm for votc stormy & fett at tru, so will now hear here any appeals for the turnover to y'all of these aMa-a-zing bargains :D

MTV - used to be smart, but after they got flush with cash from Beavis & But-ted ;) they got really stupid, changed the whole focus of the network and stopped putting on anything smart. Daria was a total surprise since it was out of step with their new "moron-themed programming".

WHY? :pNo, I meant their programming in general, it was more biting, less insulting, edgier, more clever, took more risks, integrated music and music videos better. I would watch music vids all day if they actually played any (occasionally, they play a half hour of prefab pop, conformist hip-hop, and soulless R&B but they never mix it up like they used to, and it's hard to find).

Oh, I misunderstood the situation on the $5 and $3 figs.

As for boil-n-pop, I kinda do mind as I don't want a figure that's been taken apart or had its plastic quality altered - especially as I just noticed that some of my CTC stormies are yellowing severely already, and the Vstormy's injection-molded shoulders are sorta fragile to begin with. Maybe I'm misunderstanding you though, so if you could explain it differently... ? I just examined the limbs of the Cstormy and Vstormy, they use similar joints at the shoulders and hips, but the ones on the Vstormy are significantly smaller than the Cstormy, to the point where I suspect they'd rattle around loose or just fall right out - also, the Vstormy is a smaller scale, so it might look very strange to have tiny limbs on a Cstormy.

-who dem? Frank & Son collectors show, it's semi-weekly, every Wed & Sat, I'm sure I've told you about it before, it's a big warehouse that is home to over 100 different dealer booths, some legit but many pure scalping.

by this time last year i'd all but finished (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/showpost.php?p=319014&postcount=724) my metro-area spring hunt, while this year i've yet to start it, and likely will forgo it for the first time in years, for several reasons: the earlier-than usual release of ep3 toys and planning the dispersal of r2's collection (her gradual decline continues, alas) has filled both my time and my annual appetite for New Acquisitions. also the weather's been much slower to warm this year, and wrapping up some old personal biz has also consumed the impetus usually channeled into the hunt. but i will do my usual dealer-room sweep at the end-of-april starcon (http://starland.com/sf-sc/sf05/index.html), meanwhile:
tho i never got targ's $1 coupon, got walm to match so paid $4.24 for e3 clone :) also returned my r4g9 to targ, then bought it back for new $1.74 price  in other news, yardsale-bagged me $2 Life For Rent dido cd, a $1 Matrix essay comp (http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/1932100024/ref=sib_dp_pt/103-0986893-7267858#reader-link) and sighted $2.88 otc scanning crew techs at a k-b in case anyone seeks :)

swaf: "Thanx muchly, though"

jt: "if you could explain it differently"
-basically, if i can get a second one i'll swap your opened one for an unopened one- i was just splainin Why :) meanwhile, the rabes i was waiting to get you under $4 seem to be all gone :(

"Vstormy is a smaller scale"
-bah, he's only 1/8 inch shorter, a negligible diff imo :)

"sure I've told you about it"
-yeah, but not sure you called it by name, as that didn't ring a bell

"sure those are wave 2?"
-ho yeah :)

"talking about hundreds, possibly thousands. . . don't have that kind of scratch""

bagged me $5.24 e3 blue guard (why'd they give him same # & packaging as red guard? weird); prefer this one's darker blues & blacked-out visor but prefer e1 version's crest plumage & non-softgoods design (haven't decided whose body aspects i prefer since, as per my usual, am waiting on opening); will likely custom-combine aspects from both :)
located a whole wall of titaniums (oddly, at the same time there were only a few figures present) & picked me up atrt, jedisf, gunsh & tri-fi for $5 each just in case i can't find cheaper or mms aren't made of them. The red starfighter is indeed a repaint of Anakin's yellow starfighter, just like Hasbro did with the figure scale versions.

(so is 5-pak red jedfi just a repaint of the yellow's sculpt?)Correct, just like in the film.

I'll look for that Trek mag, don't think I've read it yet though and cover story doesn't ring any bells.

Nice price-swap on the VLeia, are you going to do that custom on your CTC to Vstormy now? If so, keep us in the loop.

ROTS Blue guard is the original, red guard is a "chase" figure, a variant, one which I'm currently looking for since I have 2 blues and no reds. The only differences are color and head, the heads are ball-jointed so you can pull them off and remove the cloth elements, underneath is a thin but well-sculpted and -articulated figure.

can't Believe how obvious assembly screws are often placed, No effort was made to hide em Yeah, Hasbro is sloppy as hell with that sort of thing, even on the figure-line's Republic Gunship and ARC-170 they just slap 'em wherever is ugliest.

Six for a buck? That's pretty good, I haven't seen anything better than four for a buck in quite a while on those, but I stopped eating them when I noticed how much fat and salt they had.

I have the same problem of Bc3 with Target micro vehicles wave 2.

No chances to see them in Italy and they are not even available on eBay. :(

I know I have no hopes but I would still like to collect the "new" micro vehicles because if the line remained alive there could be something good in the future, and, vt, just because they are "lame" (I already have wave 1 and agree with you :ermm: ) I am afraid they will not be well distributed. But if it is understandable to pay a lot for a rare and beautiful vehicle (like the ZAAP, or the Epic MM collections), it would be too weird to pay a lot for these if they became "rare".

So if any of you can help me with wave 2 and/or the Playsets ( :crazed: these looks awesome in the CIII pictures!) I will be very very happy. :D
(of course I will pay the cost, shipping, handling, gasoline, time spent and everything ;) )

I can't think of a more deserving and able-to-appreciate recipient. I'll be getting it too, eventually, as this is not a kind of book that could properly be appreciated by checking it out from the library. It will need to be read at times when the mood (external and internal) is right.

As for the back cover - ack! - as long as he doesn't become as ubiquitous as PSHoffman!

oh my bad, that would be this one!

I went through the boxes that my office was kind enough to store for me during my sabatical, and amongst the parcels and such, i found the package that vt had sent me containing my, (as mason has forsaken star wars toys for this pubescent state of his life, so i am correct in saying my :p ) at-te af's!

this waht i owe you payment on. well to my delight, included within the box was also a couple of un-announced items, a superdupercool symead police car, and a japan 2 figure af pack.

and a really nice official collectors edition magazine on the release of rotj

thanx vt!

i can't believe that box with it's bounty of loot has been sitting in my office store room for almost a year!

oh and one last thing, to my delight i discovered that at times i am more organized than i give myself credit for, it turns out that i had backed up my entire e-mail into a backup file, i was able to restore, and now have my entire ssg/buzz board history restored, so no need to bother the party who i refered to in my e-mail to you vt :) i once again have it all. and just for historical sakes, the 1st e-mail betwixt you and mesa was 8/9/99 ahhhhhh the naive and carefree days of the buzz :crazed:

It's called "work" sonny. :p

You might wanna try a Hollywood blvd spot for your patio-enjoyment, the Pig & Whistle which is next to the Egyptian Theater (one block east of the Grauman's Chinese Theater, and on the opposite side of the street). There's also a few really decent patios on the Sunset Strip proper, you shouldn't have a hard time picking them out. Depending on how far away you are interested in going, the Redondo Beach Pier is like 1 big nifty patio, it's a little off the beaten tourist path but lots of flavor there - moreso than the tourist-favored Santa Monica pier (though Santa Monica has lots of great stuff too, not just the pier but on Ocean Ave (the street in front of the pier) and even the 3rd Street Promanade (it's an outdoor mall). Oh, and Olvera Street (http://www.olvera-street.com/) has a few good patio restaurants, that's downtown LA.

Sorry I couldn't steer you towards more interesting patio fare, I don't actually care for this side of town that I live in. :erm:

I am familiar with Meltdown, they're on the block with my mailbox place, they used to be cooler when they were across the street in a smaller locale but they're slicker now I suppose. Their collectibles are overpriced even for comic shops in the area so I haven't been stopping by there in the past few months, had no idea you'd find anything there (where did you find the DVD and those Moebius books? -what about it don't you like? or do you prefer to say via email No, I'll speak my mind here. I grew up on the west side of LA, there's more variety of fun stuff to do, here in Hollywood it's all about clubbing and theater- & concert-going, none of which is that interesting to me. The concerts they have don't do it for me usually, and I am not a happy camper in nightclubs, and I don't go to the movies enough to enjoy it that way. There aren't many parks except for Griffith Park which I burn out on since I see it nearly every day, and most of my friends and family are on the west side which is difficult to get to from here since the freeways around here go in the wrong direction from it (they all are east or north). It's too much about being seen than actually doing.

Thanks for the info on the DVDs and books, I'll have to pay attention there more often. I'm not into Moebius myself, I was actually curious for you as I thought you had asked me a while back to look for one, I hate knowing I missed something.

I wonder why that Chris Elliot event got canned.

I am not obsessed with die-cast, it's a nice toy medium but I don't obsess about where it goes to eat in Hollywood or anything.

I hate the Hot Wheels Batman Begins Tumbler Batmobile, that thing totally ruined the car's most stunning aspect, its front suspension. Luckily Mattel made up for it with the action figure line's Tumbler Batmobile which is awesome, and apparently they're releasing a Hot Wheels 1/18th Tumbler Batmobile which looks very nice (and is DIE CAST).

The batmobile's "camo version" is actually how the car was painted before Batman got his hands on it, when it was just The Tumbler.

Actually, it seemed like there were two prototypes (which would make sense, I think they mentioned needing two for the bridge thing?). The first one we see is in the big messy prototype storage that looks black and doesn't seem like it would be easy to get out. Then theres the camo Tumbler that might've been stored more near the testing hangar?

But, either way, I'm glad they're releasing the camo version in 1:18 scale, bad thing is it'll be even harder to get because it's in a special packaging.

JediTricks

You sure about that Basker? I thought there was just the 1 Tumbler, and that the lighting and being partially covered made it seem different. I don't have the DVD though, stupid backorder bullcrap, so I can't be totally sure.

LTBasker
11-06-2005, 11:19 AM
Checked it today and I was mistaken, sorry. I zoomed in on the Tumbler in storage and I thought it was black due to the tarp over the top over it taking on alot of edge details and going down to the blackness of the axis mount in the middle.

However, one of the side-guards protecting the wheels is visible (but when not concentrated on it blends in with some stuff next to it) and it shows the desert camo.

Though, Lucious does say that the bridging plan required two Tumblers but they never got the actual bridge to work. The one in storage might have still been a second Tumbler because with the way stuff was cluttered around it, it didn't seem like they would be able to get it out very easily.

bagged troop evol repaint for $8 cuz it wasn't yet entered in store database, so when cashier axed me "know how much this is?" she musta thot i sed $8 instead of $18 :greedy: also bagged a few utashadows (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/printthread.php?t=30207&page=3&pp=30) and while i was waitin for em to be brought out, spotted mm-like ornaments (http://starwars.kurtadler.com/starwars_catalog/product_cat.php/subid=2497/index.html) (can't find pix of them on that website tho)- at least they looked that way at first, being similar-sized. but if you turn pkg around (contains slave 1, falcon, xwing & dv tie w/dstar) you see they don't have rear ends :p
the real news: i was able to deploy my coupon plan (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/printthread.php?t=30150&page=2&pp=5), to wit: i buy the battleset, get the free mv 2-pak, then return the battleset and they don't ask about or seemingly even care about the mvpak; i guess they're just happy to be rid of them :)anyhoo, w/b'jr as my sometime wheelman, have gotten 27 free mv 2-paks so far (roughly 9 of each style) :D which means a free set of each for me, a free set of each for (since these are targ-xclusive) every foreign collector here who still seeks (for only shipping cost!), and the rest go to b'jr; i told him i estimate between one and three of you here would request a set of these which, after i get mine, would leave him between 15 and 21 sets for being such an accomodating wheelman, taking directions so obediently & all :whip:

I gotta' read this thread more often- I just bought an Utapau Shadow and a Tac Ops (65) Trooper on Ebay for $32 shipped...which I thought wasn't bad...

C'est la vie. Still, I'd like another Utapau to open, so if you wouldn't mind sparing one, VT :D

As for the Target Packs, they have a TON of them sitting on the shelves at my local Target here. I didn't realize they were even rare as they have been there for months- along with the large size sets (The Hand, Turbo Tank and Blockade Runner).

I am also after an AT-TE Tank Gunner to open, the Kohl's Exclusive AT-RT with Driver and Clone Trooper (I need a Quick Draw Clone at this point...), and the all-elusive Jedi Temple Set from K-Mart for all the Blue Clone Troopers in it...

Sadly enough, I saw this set up here in Bozeman but I didn't realize it was a K-Mart Exclusive at the time, hence I missed out on getting it because I didn't have the $20 on me and by the time I realized what it was? It was gone :(

Still- Let me know VT what you'd like to do and maybe we can trade some figs for some Target packs or else I could pay ya for the figs, too.

Hey vt,
I would not want to bother you too much, but in another thread you mentioned there are variations in the micro vehicles wave 3. If it is possible I would like to get the variant version. :D (for the barc speeder it should be the white rider version, for the Anakin's Starfighter I do not know). But in any case I will be happy just to get the wave 3. :pleased:

By the way, I am also missing the Titanium Gift set 2 (the one with the silver TIE Bomber). It is actually the last Titanium item I am missing (if KH will be able to help me with the first gift set and AW with the first wave :D ). If it happens you find tons of these in a Wal-Mart near you, I would be happy to get that too. (of course I can send you the money in advance).

Thank you in any case.

"Anakin's Starfighter I do not know"

"If it happens you find tons"

(jt Springs to mind ;) )

ws: "like another Utapau"
-in case i don't get any better offers/more compelling requests for em, i'll pencil-in reserve one for you ;)

"didn't realize they were even rare"
-oh they're not (unless you happen to live overseas, since they're targ-xclusives), which may be why targ's practically givin em away via coupon offer i've been xploiting :)

"maybe we can trade some figs for some Target packs"
-which figs? not sure i understand your proposal, but have you seen my tradethred (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/showthread.php?t=29708)? meanwhile maybe you can help ltb, s43 etc score some free mv 2-pax (http://forums.sirstevesguide.com/printthread.php?t=29155&page=2&pp=23)? :)

"need a Quick Draw Clone"

I found like 20 packs of the Raw Metal TIE Bomber 5-pack at my local Wal-Mart a few nights ago (along with Pack 1, hence my rant in the Kidhuman thread). I am already going back there tonight to check for Wave 3 ships for JT- I'll put a pack on layaway for you tonight. $19.97 plus shipping (there's no sales tax here in Montana :))

As for VT-

Thanks for the Utupau Reservation. Yeah, if someone doesn't have it and needs one get it to 'em- I got one coming from Ebay. All I care about is the paint job- looking for a MINT one so I can display it proudly...

...I got an Evolutions Gray variant Clone Trooper pack yesterday and I gotta say that my new favorite ROTS Clone Trooper is the one included in this pack! You can take off the command skirt and put on a standard belt, and then also take off the pauldron and voila! You have a standard Clone Trooper :) No poseable torso but I'll live- the figure is neat!

But I digress-

I am after:

-Kohl's AT-RT with Quickdraw Clone (#6)
-AT-TE Driver
-Clone Trooper with Jet Pack
-All 3 of the Color variations of the Clone Trooper 3-packs (Red, Blue, Green) and JUST those Clones (don't need the white ones).
-Any Blue Clone Trooper from the K-Mart Jedi Temple Assault Set (or just the set itself- I could care less about the Anakin or Clone Pilot)

I'm just looking for MINT paint jobs- all of these figures will be opened if they're not already.

To trade or purchase for others:

-I may be able to get a hold of Target MV packs. I don't know where this coupon is :( :( :( but I would be happy to exploit it!

-For any one else interested- there were a couple of 3 3/4 TIE Fighters with the new scale wings sitting on my Target's shelf last time I was there. Their packages weren't in the greatest of shape, but they'd be perfect to open. I'm willing to get them for anyone interested.

-The Hand, Clone Turbo Tank or the Blockade Runner sets from Target

-At this time, MULTIPLE Titaniums (Wave 3, both 5-packs, and both Wal-Mart Ultras)

Montana...I'm tellin' ya- UNtapped resource for cool stuff :)

"not only I am going to get the mv wave 3, but also variants"
-well uh actually i was presenting you w/the info & opinion so you could choose from which One you'd want Among the variants. but o well, i spose we Could let you have one of each, so long as i can send the variant loose & not tethered to its 2-pak partner; you mean to open these as you open most things anyway, right? lmk if that's ok :)

No, sorry, I did not explain correctly myself (again "also" was meant to be "even", sorry :( ). I was meaning only one each of the wave 3 sets (3 sets in total), including the set with the white BARC speeder driver (instead of the set with the green driver) and the set with the unweathered Anakin's Jedi Starfighter (instead of the set with the weathered one).
I do not intend to ask you more than you kindly offered. :)

Ciao,

JediGoofy-

Check whatever e-mail account you have that is attached to SirSteves, JediGoofy. I e-mailed you my PayPal ID and the total cost with shipping (shipping to Italy is expensive, dang it!) There's a link to the USPS web site with the actual shipping cost in the e-mail, too. :)

If you need me to post the info here, let me know. If you free up some PM space, I'll re-send the e-mail message there :)

VT- Nope- the Covert trooper may be odd but I like 'em :D
