I'm a huge baseball fan and I wondered who you guys thought would be heading to the series??? Were big Hotlanta fans so I'm hoping the Braves vs. anyone but the Yanks (would like to see the Twins go or the Angels) If anyone goes other then the Braves I hope its the Cards since they lost DK this year...what do you think???

Wait......They're still playing baseball???

Ok, then. Well it won't be the Yankees. hallelujah!

Nor should it be the Braves. They've had their time in the sun. They have been dominating their division for ten years now. Time to give someone else a chance.

I would love to see the Angels and the Cardinals. Anaheim would get my nod since I always root for the underdog (living in Buffalo). But I wouldn't be upset if the Twins or the Giants won it all.

Braves baby! They finish off the little Giants tomorrow.
I have been going to Braves games since I was a toddler. I suffered through 15 losing seasons, no reason why I shouldn't get 15 winning ones in return!

I agree. Thank the maker it not going to be the yankees. I would like to see the A's vs the Braves. I would not mind seeing the Card's or anyone else in the world series.

who cares if they had their time in the sun in their division, i want the braves to win at least another world series. Besides, did you ever hear anything about them in the 80's? NO they sucked hard. be happy for the braves!! :)

Pretty much every team in every sport have endured prolonged streaks of losing that have lasted years. I live in Yankee country and every time I bring up my opinion regarding how it's time for some other team to be given a chance at winning (like the Red Sox ;) ) someone has to mention the "dark days" of the Yankees history of the 1950's (I think it is that decade) or the 1980's when they failed to make the playoffs some years--they talk about it as if no other franchise had suffered as they did and how each of the 10 or so WS they've won in the last 40 years, was some sort of small attonement.

Take a look at the Angels. They have been in the league since 1961. They last were in the playoffs in 1986. They hadn't won a playoff series at all during the franchise's 40 years of existence. They are deserving of a World Series if ever a team was. The Braves have had many shots over the years and I was glad to see that they won one. Now it's time for the Angels or the Giants or the Cards to get a taste of making the finals and winning.

Ya i know, every team has had a crappy streak (some are constantly on this), but i wasn't around anytime before the 80's, plus I live in Atlanta so i don't care about the other teams. :) :crazed:

I'm from Minnesota, and with the Twins win today, I would love to see them in the world series.

Even if they did loose, it would still be justice and somthing to throw back into Bud S. face after that whole contraction talk.

I have to cheer for the small market, dark horse, underdogs for this year.

Ranked in order of preference:

1) Angels
2) Giants
3) Cardinals
4) Braves
5) Twins

I will never forgive those Twins for my 87 heartbreak. Totally sour, and we still can't beat them for stink even now, 15 seasons later.

Since my Yankees fell to Anaheim, I have to pull for the Twins because it will make Selig look like a boob. Contraction? Only if your wife delivers, Selig!!!!

Down with Bud Selig. Go Twinkies

I'm with you there Jon9000.

But, if I had a 2nd choice, I'd pull for the Cardinals. I'm not really a Cards fan, I just think they deserve it.

Atlanta has lost their fair share of World Series, let someone else have a chance.

I was listening to the sports radio here in DC. They were talking about how everyone is working to get the Expos here for next season. They ended up dogging Selig for about 20 min. They said the only good thing he has done as commissioner was to bring in the Wild Card in the playoffs. Can you imagine how boring the end of the season would have been without that?

Wait a tick - 87 that was Twins vs. Tigers for the West Championship, then it was Twins vs. Cards for the series...I'm assuming you're a cards fan?

If you are a cards fan and you're so heart broken about the Twinkies beating the Cards why do have your team ranked 3rd? Or aren't you a cards fan anymore?

Boy you crazy canucks:)...Go Twins, and Go Wild!

It was Twins vs. Tigers for AL Pennant. Since then the Tigers have SUCKED ROYALLY!!!!

Anyway GO TWINS!! GO GIANTS!!

I don't like B Bonds, but I like the Giants.

I'm glad the Yankees are out. I'm sick of seeing Ugly A** Don Zimmer, Dork Jeter, and all the other Yankees.

GO TWINS-prove Bud (worst thing in baseball) Selig wrong!!!!

I think Detroit and St. Louis'll go in 2006.

You may laugh at the Detroit prediction but they have some hot young pitching (Bonderman, Zamaya, Robertson) and also a veteran to hold 'em together (Rogers).

Mark my word. Detroit in the 2006 World Series.

Don't forget about Jim Leyland at the helm. That's a pretty bold prediction, Slick, but I wouldn't be surprised!

that would 2007 Pirates. play will the Royals KC.

Since then the Tigers have SUCKED ROYALLY!!!!

I think that's kind of arrogant, Arse, because even though the Tigers lost the WS this year I think they still had a good year to be very proud of. :)

I think dumping Denny Green would be a good first step.

Ha, Belicheck would take the money and retire after one day. He does that kind of stuff.

Except he doesn't buy them cutoff, he does that part on his own...he's the real deal, not a poser.
