Jedi Luke Confirmed for next year

Just got a report from RTM about a confirmed Jedi Luke for 2003...

Will he be a completely resculpted standard carded figure? I hope so.

We have had plenty of Luke Jedis as pack-in figures, most of them pretty crappy. I'm hoping for one that is as detailed as the Saga Bespin Luke or POTJ Luke X-Wing. That would be awesome!:)

Very cool, if it turns out to be true. It was on Hasbro's early retailer lists for 2003. It showed up on Galactic Hunter's list for 2003 a while ago also. That list has been showing up pretty accuratly. So it's pretty much a shoe-in to being made.

But I'll believe it when I see it. Was it in their forums, or actually on their site. Their forums are one of the biggest breeding ground of false rumors on the net. They spread around a fake "Clawful" MOTU figure photo a while back. :p :)

Here's more conformation of the Luke Skywalker: Jedi Knight figure, and it's direct from Hasbro from their recent UK chat. :)

Jedi Gary wants to know: "Are there going to be new versions of older figures. As it would be great to see a new saga collection Jedi Luke"

I sure hope that the detail on this Luke is the same as the Bespin Luke (The best Luke to date).

I think the Robe should be plastic and not cloth, and the hood should be down. What do you think?

I would rather have the cloth cape. The plastic capes are more of a shell and take away from the artuculation.

I agree that it takes away from the articulation, but I would be willing to make that sacrifice because I think cloth capes look stupid, like the one for JSP Obi-Won.

That depends on if he comes with a cape. We already have tons of Luke's from early in ROTJ when he's wearing the vest and the cloak. Only the Final Jedi Duel, Speederbike, and Millenium Minted Coin versions are his outfit from later in the film.

Since there is supposed to be a new Vader w/ Removable Helmet, I'm going to bet that the Luke will be from the Death Star. Hopefully with lightsaber, binders, and a few other nice accessories. Maybe a soft goods Endor poncho and helmet. :)

That figure would have to come with two right hands then- gloved and non-gloved.

I will be fine with either Jabba Luke, or FD Luke for next year , then perhaps the year after that, or even later, post Ep 3 (yikes!) they could release the other.

I just would like a nice Jedi Luke... not an overpumped physique, not a goofy face. No crap gimmicks. If they DO make it an "E.W." version... he'll look all messed up. :(

Luke could look opaque until you push a button on his back that makes his skeleton glow with a lightining effect. :D

About time! They better do it right. The original from 83 is the best of the classic line. I hope they do the same this time around. Don't mess this up Hasbro! Make Jabbas palace with brown plastic cloak. keep it simple. No goofy face or crazy pose.

They won't stop with the gimmicks until Hell freezes over, and even then I would be hard pressed to believe they would.

Wow, great news! I think that we should get a Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker like the way they did Luke Skywalker Bespin Duel.

- Good articulation
- Great sculpt
- Metal lightsaber
- great accessories (binders, Jedi cloak, removable endor helmet, removable endor poncho)

I think that Jedi Knight Luke is the best Luke Skywalker outfit & I searched far and wide to get the POTF2 figure & I think it's awesome
But I think that we're in dire need of a resculpt, I just hope that Hasbro does this figure justice because it's one of the most anticipated yet.
I wonder how they'll do the cloak... then again, will we get a cloak? (we haven't had one with Anakin Skywalker Episode II)
I think the cloak looks cool on the POTJ one but could they make a soft goods cloak that wouldn't look "too big", I'm not too keen on the Obi Wan Kenobi Jedi Starfighter Pilot cloak.
I think maybe Jar Jar Binks can answer that question? how can they do a great cloak for this figure.

Ideally, I hope that we get a Luke Skywalker that could be used in Diorama's in Jabba's Palace, Endor and the Death Star II.
I really hope Hasbro will go all out on this figure and make it the best Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight yet.. it may be the last time we ever get a Jedi Knight Luke :(

I wonder if they'll make a Return of the Jedi Darth Vader to go with Jedi Knight Luke because Darth Vader Bespin Duel is made to go with Bespin Duel Luke.
They did a really great job with the POTF2 Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight, (I don't own POTF2 Luke Bespin but from what I've seen the pictures look cool).
And they made a HUGE improvement with Bespin Luke so I'm hoping they'll use that experience... then again, I don't know how Hasbro works! :confused:

there should be a cloak but not a stiff fabric like the sith accessories one(which is on my jedi luke as we write) and not as thick as jedi acessories either but it should be a polyester fabric that flows loosly so it can drape over his head just as he walked into jabba's palace. a calm relaxed facial expression of a jedi with articulation which allows poses like Bespin lukes put also allows the mysterious-jedi pose like when he walked into jabba's or like when obi and qui walked in the trade federation ship at the start of eps. 1. oh and a metal lightsaber with removeable blade! wow that was long

I doubt that we are going to get a cloak for him, since he never wears one outside his first apperance in Jabba's Palace. Tieing that in with the fact that we haven't had a good version of Luke without his vest since those three versions I mentioned above, I'm betting it's going to be one from the Death Star scenes. Then in a few years we'll probably get a Jabba's Palace version with vest and cloak. And then a year or two later, a new Endor version. :)

wow, I never noticed the Jedi Knight Luke wears 2 different outfits but now I think about it.. when he's in the death star, part of his top kinda "unbuttons"
I still hope we get a cloak, endor hat, endor poncho, metal lightsaber and binders.
I'll still be happy if we just get Luke from the final duel that's as good as Luke Bespin :)
I wonder if we'll get a good Hoth Luke with maybe a soft goods "scarf" that goes over his face.
I honestly don't mind resculpts as long as they're a big improvement over the original.
There are some figures that really need a resculpt though... such as Emperor Palpatine :) I would hope they'd do him they way they did Episode I Darth Sidious
