I just ordered the silver R2 from Yestertoys for $35.00 for the mint one!

Go dig on it!

Why order it? You could have just spent the $35 bucks at TRU to get it and $35 worth of toys. If your worried about it not being in mint condition from TRU, just keep harassing them (in a reasonable manner) until they give you one that is. That's what I plan on doing.

Hmmm, $35.00 plus shipping for somthing I can get free when I spend between $25.00-$30.00 (rumored) at TRU? No thanks, I'll wait. Hasbro already stated enough times that they are making huge quantities to ensure that everyone that wants one, gets one. Not to mention you get that $25-$30 purchase worth of toys to play with as well. The best of both worlds. :)

yeah, i hear that. A site i do business with has it for 50.00, which is hella steep. I'd rather pick up some figures to mess with and stick to my bookshelf at school next to disco Stu and then get R2. :D

I'm not an army builder and have all of the current figures. Why should I burn $20 - 30 on stuff I already have to get this figure? That is what makes no sense to me. There is not $20 - 30 worth of SW stuff to be had that I don't have. So, why not?

The only reason I would buy it for $35 is to be sure its mint. There's no reason to open this figure. The packaging and the silver on R2 are one and the same. That's just me though;)

I guess there are some people in this world who still can't comprehend "For promotional use only. Not for retail sale."

You mean to tell me you have the gunship, the arena, the 15" R2-D2, and every figure from 1-52, as well as every deluxe figure. Wow, you shoud have entered Hasbro's contest.

I mean to tell you that I have every figure available, 1-52, except the Destroyer Droid b/c it's unreleased; the gunship; the arena; and every deluxe figure. I don't give a rat's about the $100.00 R2, so don't have it. Now, that greatly reduces what I'd burn $20 - 30 bucks on, doesn't it?

To each his own. I wonder how Yestertoys got hold of these TRU promotional exclusives.

You could have bought the $30 worth of stuff and done anything with it. Burn it, open it, sell it on eBay. ****, why don't you buy the stuff, get the R2, then return the stuff you bought but keep the R2. Hey, thats a damn good idea.....

You see, there are these overworked and underpaid peons in China who assemble your toys. Then they (the toys, not the peons) come over in a great big boat for capitalist American corporations to distribute.

Along the way, people in Singapore and Hong Kong and other Pacific Rim countries manage to smuggle some of the product. That's how they sell them on eBay months before the American street date.

Thanks J for the info... Well I will be glad to get it at US$35 as I'm staying in Singapore and the local TRU here is really crappy with no exclusives whatsoever. Does anyone know if they will ship to Singapore here?

Cheers...
