What is this?

AT-TE perhaps?

Hmm...Porbably not an AT-TE. AT-TE's are made by the Republic, not the Trade Federation. I also imagined an AT-TE to cost more than that. Hold on, let me check some sources, then I'll hit the EDIT (!) button and tell you what I think it could be...

Ok, I checked, and there really aren't any ships or attack droids in the Battle of Geonosis that are made by the Federation. I'm thinking it might be from EPI, they just said it was EPII because it was in the same line. Maybe it is one of those troop transports? I guess we'll just have to see. Does anyone have any thoughts?

It;s the hailfire droid most probably. And if it's not that it's the Tank droid that was cut from the movie. The tank droid is not really that interesting so i can't see a reason for releasing it since it never did anything unless hasbro already made the sculpt before the movie came out and decided to go with a release anyway. But i would imagine it's more likely to be the hailfire wheel droid. Just named wrong. E-tailers often just cut and paste from suppliers catalogs and if EE use Diamond that would explain why the name is wrong since Diamond haven't got a clue about what it is they actually supply. It's simply about money to Diamond. they don't care much for semantics. When the release date gets closer i bet that listing gets miraculously altered to the correct title of the piece.

I'll bet you a buck it's just the trade federation tank from episode I, since they DID use that vehicle in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
I'm hoping for the AT-TE myself, or the hailfire droid. Or the Spider Droid :-D

It may be the AT-TE, note that it says that it holds 3 action figures. The Hailfire Droid and the Tank Droid that was cut from the movie don't hold figures. The AT-TE is smaller then the Republic Gunship, so $5.00 less then the price of the Gunship is possible. I would be giddy as hell if this is true. We need more information. :)

The Hailfire Droid is listed as the Clan Droid there.

May be it should be the Hasbro name for the rehashed Republic Gunship with three clones pilots pack-in (most probably).
They used to let curious names appear on the upcoming toys listing like "Clone Tank" for the AT-TE (Action Fleet) or "Troop Transport" for the Acclamator class destroyer (Action Fleet wave 3)...
Note : the pricepoint doesn't match at all with the Gunship... but we will have two Federation dro´d vehicles in the 3,3/4" line (confirmed) : The Homing spider dro´d is one of them.

With the Geonosian fighter and the "Firewall"/Hailfire wheeling dro´d, what can we expect ???

JarJarBinks is right : It's probably the AT-TE...

I remember the Hasbro commercial managers at Celebration 2 saying they will not produce an AT-TE in the near future...
But we all know the Hasbro employees used to lie to the fans...

Not really a commercial behavior...

I hope I'm right, it seems to fit on all fronts. Slightly cheaper then the Gunship, since it's slightly smaller. Then the 3 figures, that fits with what the Tank would likely be also. 2 Drivers in the cockpit, and then 1 Gunner ontop in the Gunner Seat. May want to stock up on extra CloneTrooper Pilots after all, just for the AT-TE. It's going to be weird that 2003 actually beats 2002 in cool stuff. :D

It's says 3 3/4 figures not 3 figures. :)

I hope the next Gunship will be able to carry the AT-ET, like in the film. It reminds me of those helicopters with the belly of the ship missing for cargo or what not.

Me too, there'd be not point in getting it if it wasn't. :D

Woah, ET was in AOTC too? ;)

The AT-TE only has one pilot/driver doesn't it? or at least by the time hasbro finished it would. One pilot, one gunner and space for a couple inside. in fact the AT-TE has two troop chambers linked in the middle by a small tunnel. The best thing hasbro could do is to make it two chambers with hinged lids. That way you could get at least four clonetroopers inside. But the main thing is to get the legs working and the gun working. Even if it didn't carry figures inside anything other than the cockpit and gun it's still going to be cool. EE seem to be the only people offering the Geo fighter, E2 Federation Tank Vehicle and clan droid. I'm a little worried that they're making stuff up just to entice people into buying stuff from their site. What would actually be really cool is if someone from Hasbro would actually either confirm or refute that these items are in development or production.
Why the hell do hasbro feel the need to keep us in the dark until the very last minute? What other company only tells customers about product releases after they've released the damn product? Hasbro is so screwy as a company. I just can't fathom them at all.

Doh, your right about that 3 3/4 things, Battle Droid. Oh well, it still sounds like the AT-TE from the info we have so far. I hope so, that would officially make 2003 cooler then 2002. Of course then people will start begging for a resculpt of the Gunship, without the crew section so it can be used as a drop ship for the tank. :p :)

Jargo, sorry to tell you my friend, but most toy companies are like that now. A secretive little lot, like they were dealing with national security secrets. Heck, they should have the toy companies run the security sections of the goverment. They love keeping secrets. Just look at Hasbro, we didn't know Dexter Jettster was coming til around a month before the figure was released. ;) :D

I know Jargo, I have a headache just reading what you wrote about Hasbro short commings. Hey, I think AT-ET looks and sounds better;)

JJB, I wonder if people read all the posts before replying? I wonder

So it's the cold war of toys eh? The customers and the fan sites are the reds under the beds kind of thing. There's also that little 'collect them all' tag that bothers me. How will a customer know what to collect without knowing what there is available? The poster they shoved out this year only had basic figures on it and the packaging only shows one or two other products. The collect them all thing is aimed at kids so how are kids going to know what to pester their parents for? That's not good advertising or good business. Even if you go to the main Hasbro site it's still not that easy to get a complete overview of the product. They have the listing drop down things but that still lists all the vintage figures too so it's misleading. If you went by that on your wishlist you'd have a list the size of an airport runway. And kids aren't really going to know about places like this which cater more to collectors than them. Which brings up the question of do kids collect figures. Well obviously yes if you go by sales this year.
I know I'm veering off topic and I'm sorry but i just type what i think when i think before i forget.
I just kinda feel frustrated with how the product schedule gets handled. I'd just feel happier if there was less rumour and pie in the sky reports and more solid facts floating round.

I personally would like to see hasbro do the AT-TE more to scale, which would probably make it priced around 40 to 50 dollars, depending upon the complexity.

Take a look at this picture from the official site.
http://www.starwars.com/databank/vehicle/atte/index_movie.html

I'm thinking a more to scale version, which would be about as long as the Hasbro AT-AT toy, but of course much shorter, it's about 3 or 4 action figures high. So I think they could still get that priced around 40 to 50 bucks and make a decent toy.

If they weren't willing to do a bigger scale Slave-1 they won't be willing to do a bigger scale AT-TE. You'll probably find that it'll be scaled down to the point where the belly is at shoulder height to a figure. Over all a large vehicle but in terms of scale quite small. Lord knows the AT-AT should be at least four times bigger if it was scale. Scaled down makes it more marketable to a larger consumer base because the price is lower and it costs less to produce and package.
If you go on the reports of what vehicles are being released next year it reads something like this:

NEW VEHICLES:
Geonosian speeder w/ Count Dooku
Tatooine swoop w/ Anakin
Geonosian fighter
Hailfire droid
AT-TE (possible same vehicle as reported 'hero vehicle')

RE-RELEASES:
Imperial shuttle
Green deco A-wing w/ pilot
Sandcrawler w/ Jawa & RA-7 droid
Slave-1 w/ Jango Fett
Slave-1 ESB colors
Jedi starfighter w/ hyperdrive ring
Republic gunship w/ 3 troopers
Naboo fighter w/ Padme
Snowspeeder w/ Luke & Dack
Tie Bomber w/ pilot
Tie fighter w/ figure
Twin pod cloud car (possible re-release)

Which seems an awful lot of vehicles for one year to me. Someone somewhere is just making stuff up. Either that or Hasbro have gone insane.

Say they release a few beasts:
Wampa
Tauntaun
Bantha
Orray
Aiwha
Shaak

Add to that the accessory sets and cantina sets, perhaps a couple of smaller playsets and the deluxe figures and screen scene figures and these figure four packs that are apparently showing up. Then factor in another packed year of basic figures and you end up with a year full of product where no-one but the insanely rich could 'collect them all'

I'm just not buying this at all. Someone somewhere is yanking our bells.

I wouldn't mind if it was the AAT since I wasn't able to get/find the Episode 1 one.

I guess it could be the Trade Federation tank re-issued. A bit odd that we haven't heard a lick about that ever happening though. Of course EE did post some of the other stuff thats supposedly coming next year before anyone else. I wish I knew exactly what was going on. :)

Why not make the Self Propelled Heavy Artillery - Turbolaser (SPHA-T walker), that would be really cool

Have you seen how big that thing is? It'd be cool to have one but where the hell would you keep something that big? That's be the size of a small horse!!! :crazed: seriously massive and seriously not something I'd buy based purely and simply on space available.

An AT-AT no sweat but one of those? uh-uh.

IF they made the Self Propelled Heavy Artillery - Turbolaser (SPHA-T walker), it be scaled down. the AT-AT, Millenium falcon, and the tyderium shuttle were all big vehicles but would the SPHA-T walker sell? The SPHA-T walker doesn't have the same popularity or memorable movie moments as the latter three star wars vehicles i mentioned. i honestly did not even remeber the SPHA-T walker until it was brought up here in the forums. can anyone honsetly say the SPHA-T walker was something they remebered watching the movie? maybe watching it a few times but not on a first viewing. maybe it will be made under the action fleet collection.

i do remeber the republican gunship. it's cool looking and the movie focused alot on it in the battle. that is something you could/would remeber in the movie, seeing all those gunships landing and flying around attacking/defending.

I mainly remember it from Yoda commanding those Clone Troopers to commit suicide by shooting down the Trade Fed stations which created a huge cloud that seemed to destroy the stuff in it's path including the SPHA-T's.

I noticed that too. That little guy sure seems to have a craving for death and destruction.
