View Full Version : JangoFart's "Name That Movie"

JangoFart

"Yes, I remember that movie. Very bloody." "Bloody aweful if you ask me!"

Name if, if you can :) (Kinda obscure nowadays, but in the 80's it was more recognizable)

Dr. Strangelove.

JangoFart

Nope.

This quote is from a horror movie.

No more hints :)

J

JangoFart

OK. Nobody got that one.

It was "An American Werewolf in London."

I'll think of another in a day or two :)

Name the flick from the line below:

"I missed the part where that became my problem...."

Spiderman, I think...

JangoFart
11-19-2002, 01:58 PM
Ding, ding, ding!

You are correct, sir! :)

Spiderman: after the wrestling match, the owner refuses to pay Peter the $3,000.00. There's a guy who steals the money and Peter lets him by. The owner fusses at Peter for letting him by and that's what Peter tells him. (The owner had earlier told the same thing to Peter.)

Good one, Maul.

"Do they blow up into funny shapes and all?" "Well, no. Unless round is funny."

"Yes... I KNOW you will...."

"Let her go!"

Name the flick. I need some faith restored by my fellow SW geeks. You folks BETTER know that one. (And, it's not a Star Wars movie.)

J

JangoFart

Are you guys stumped or just not wanting to play along? I hope most of you know this quote. Heck, if not, just take a stab at it :)

I would post if I knew the answer, but I have no idea...
maybe I know the movie but if it comes to movie quotes (besides star wars) I can't remember them very good (if they're not some key scene lines I mean)

JangoFart

A line a couple of minutes later is:

"Shoot zem. Shoot zem both."

JangoFart

Good one, MrM!

A crush on Cuzak? That's the first time I've picked a movie w/ him in it (I think). But, he does rock - One Crazy Summer, Better Off Dead, Say Anything, Grosse Point Blank - all great flicks.

I've been giving easy ones. Here's a semi-hard one:

(huh-huh...huh-huh...huh-huh...hey Beavis...he said "semi-hard one"!.....huh-huh...huh-huh...huh-huh...)

"Gum? Are you sure it isn't mainlining or habit forming?"

" As long as you don't swallow it."

JangoFart

You got me, Howdy.

I can hear it in my head, but just can't place it. Gimme a hint...

Easy, The Beatles in Help!

Here's another somewhat easy one. From my favorite movie of all time (sorry, SW is a close second)

"Screws just fall out all the time, the world's an imperfect place"

"Everything's bigger... Yet, smaller...

Emperor Howdy

Bantha: Breakfast Club

Jango: Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

"Put them in the Iron Maiden!" "Iron Maiden?.....dedoloo-dedoloo- dedoloo- dedoloo- dedoloo- dedoloo!"......classic Bill and Ted.

:p

Ok....great movie....great line:

"......the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom."

JangoFart
12-19-2002, 01:28 PM
Right, Howdy! But, the "dedoloo-dedoloo" is from "Wayne's World". :)

I'm thinkin' about yours.... I know it, but can't spit it out. Gimme a day or two :)

"Oh, your Majesty. You give such good, such HUHHHH, Royal advice..."

"Well, there it is."

What was your quote, Howdy?

J

PoggleTheGreater
01-09-2003, 11:32 PM
Monty Python and the Holy Grail?

Emperor Howdy's is Saving Private Ryan

JangoFart
01-09-2003, 11:55 PM
Nope. The movie I quoted is not a comedy. This is a tough one, although the "there it is" part should give it away fairly easily to anyone who's seen the flick.

J

PoggleTheGreater
01-10-2003, 12:00 AM
Are those two quotes in the same scene or are they far apart?

JangoFart
01-10-2003, 12:05 AM
Same scene. With maybe a 3 second pause between the two.

Monday has come and gone, and I still don't know what movie that's from.

JangoFart
01-17-2003, 09:58 AM
Hey. Sorry about that.

The movie is "Amadeus" and the line occurs when his mother-in-law-to-be is speaking to the Emperor after an opera. Great movie and sweet scene.

Good one, Poggle!

This really isn't the place to admit this, but I've never seen THX-1138. I know, I know.....

But, I've never seen it available on video or DVD. I do plan on getting it, though. I'll slip a quote from it your way after I get it :)

The Princess Bride

JangoFart
04-14-2003, 02:40 AM

Good choice, Poggle.

J

PoggleTheGreater

Yeah, it's one of my favorites. If you or anyone's still up for it, here's a quote:

"Yeah, we all got it coming."

Tonysmo
04-14-2003, 02:53 AM
heres an older movie line you can try to guess..

" You're sorry? What about me? I've gotta put this butt hole back together. "

butt is being used in the correct forum fashion.. so use the other word when spouting that line outloud.. and much luck.. great flick..

PoggleTheGreater
04-20-2003, 12:13 AM
It sounds very familiar, but I can't quite place it. Mine was from Unforgiven.

JangoFart
04-20-2003, 03:52 AM
"Unforgiven"

That would explain why I didn't know it. I liked the movie, but thought it was way over-rated. "Pale Rider" or "Tombstone" it ain't.

Here's a gimme:

"And besides, you know what a cautious fellow I am."

J

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade :)

I'm votin' for your's truly.

I'm votin' for your's truly too.

Okay, I'm with you fellas.

JangoFart
04-20-2003, 05:28 AM
"O Brother Where Art Thou?"

And, CLOSE!! Not Last Crusade, but the original Raiders of the Lost Ark. That's when he's off to Cairo and Marcus starts whining about how dangerous the ark might be. Indy says that as he's stuffing his revolver into his suitcase.

Have you seen "The Transporter" yet? I just rented it tonight and I'll be buying to tomorrow. I really dug it! Great action and fight scenes. I would have never thought that the main british dude from "Snatch" would be such an *** kicker!

J

PoggleTheGreater
04-20-2003, 07:49 AM
Yeah, I saw that one in the theater a while back. It was pretty good, I think I liked it better than XXX.

You're right, I got the ark confused with the holy grail when I was thinking of Marcus's speech about how powerful the ark is.

"Put that thing back where it came from or so help me--"
