View Full Version : AOTC Inserts

Greetings. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the story is with inserts in some AOTC figures.

Are figures with inserts more or less desirable than those without? Why are they in there in the first place? Did all the early figures come with them or just certain ones?

Thanks for your help.

I would think they are more desirable to only those who collect carded variations and the first wave of figs all had them in the back.

the story I hear as to why they were there was that they were left overs from the NY Toy Fair. Whether that is trur, I'm not sure.

And if I remember correctly it was only the first 14 Figs, up to the Geonosian Warrior that had the inserts.

I think it was the first 16 figures..? up to Dex.?

It was the first 16 figures (thru Dexter), and Jorg Sacul that had the backgrounds. All of the first 16 can be found with and without backgrounds. As far as I know, no Jorg Sacul's were packaged without the background. There of course may be error versions that do not have them. :)

Well I think they look better with them and I think Hasbro got rid of them because of the old mighty $

Actually, according to Hasbro it had more to do with packaging then cost. The cardboard insert was causing the packaging to get damaged easier, because how they were inserted into the bubble. But even if cost was a factor, your paying $4.99 a figure. You should be glad for that, not complaining about the fact that they ditched some cheesy carboard inserts. :p :)

I thought they were kind of lame. I threw them away.

Well if you are a carded colletor they weren't lame. It gives the card an added touch of class.

I was lukcy yesterday I stumbled into a K-mart that was well stocked on the insert cards, and picked up the Obi Wan, leaving only Dexter for me to complete the variation set.
Nothing too special, although being a carded collector, they display much nicer IMO

At C2 Hasbro said that there was not enouh continuity (or something) between the inserts, so they dropped the idea.

Now that sound more like it.

Well I'm happy, today I found my Dexter thus completing my backgound insert collection.
