View Full Version : Which Galactic Senate Figure Do You Want To See Hasbro Make Next?

BEFORE YOU VOTE: Please see this picture of all the Senators with their names! (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=4566)

There are certainly a lot of background characters available as choices for action figures from the Star Wars films' rich and diverse settings. Without a doubt, the Galactic Senate is one of them.

Originally this poll had more than 14 great choices. But to simplify things, the Separatists decided they didn't want to be included at this time, and there are strong rumors that point towards Bail Organa seeing production in 2003.

With that said, here are some of the most interesting choices for key figures from the Old Republic.

Which one do you want as an action figure the most?

Going to have to go with the lovely, Sly Moore. Sure she's going to end up being little more then a statue, due to her feathered cloak thing. But she's an intresting looking charecter, and Star Wars suffers from a lack of female figures. :)

If I had a second vote though, it would probably be for Senator Yarua. Frankly he should have gotten a figure by now anyway. He was featured on the POTF2 Flashback cards, and all those figures were made into figures. So where is Yarua? :)

Edit: Wanted to stick up a decent picture of the lovely Sly Moore. After seeing what a nice job they did on the feathered look of Padme's Black Travel Gown, I would love to see Sly Moore made. :)

Weeeell, I don't know JJB. Sly and the Family Moore doesn't count much as a female figure in my book. As I said in another forum, she's exactly like Sinead O'Connor with a Vitamin D deficiency and we know too well how the wailing one seems to qualify more for androgeny. :)

I voted for the gentlewookie from Kashyyyk. I believe he has a bigger potential at being a better looking senatorial figure than all the potential 'saltshaker' choices. Plus this will be a good chance for Hasbro/WOTC to redeem themselves from the Wrrrorrr (however you spell his name) gaffe.

I dunno about Sinead O' Conner, she looks more like the female Centobite without her neck cut open. Same pale blueish white skin with dark around the eyes. Plus the official site lists Moore as a female. :)

I would like to see them all made. I would to see them in 3 packs and also at a reasonable price. I don't want more cinema scenes. Also ot about a box of droid parts where you could make 5 or ten droids from r2 and r5 units to imperial units. Also don't for get the ET Senate figures with spark-o-matic action to make their fingers glow ( reeses pieces optional ).

Yarua gets my vote. Hands down. We need more Wookies. And the next time they have this poll, ET better be there! I would love to see an ET on a Star Wars card.

At least Yarua WOULD get my vote if I COULD vote. But I am STILL getting the "invalid session" error message.

LUCASFILM DOES NOT OWN THE COPYRIGHT FOR E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial!

It will not happen folks. It was allowed because Steven Spielberg is George Lucas' best friend, and it was an appreciative sort of inside joke between them. Spielberg isn't going to make any money off it, so there will not be E.T. figures in anything LFL authorized.

In the meantime, use the key chains with the chains removed or go to Universal Studio theme parks and buy yourself the E.T.'s at the appropriate size.

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese did some kind of E.T. that size also.

I don't have any, want them myself, but will eventually go to Universal Studios to get them.

If anyone can order them through some Universal Studio website, please post the link in here.

Otherwise, forget about it. E.T. would be great, but it's never happening!

After much deliberation between da wook, Sly, & Seria, I went for Yarua.

Incidentally - <shameless plug>Skin'ead O'Connor has currently got a new album out, which for some reason has been listed in the "world music" sections of most record stores</shameless plug>.

Yeah, there is more chance that we would get the Tonnika Sisters, then Hasbro being allowed to do a E.T. Senator figure. Like Tycho stated, there are alternatives to waiting for somthing that is never going to happen. Besides, the E.T. toy line is currently being done by TRU, so I don't see them letting Hasbro snag E.T. for this. :)

I voted for Sly. Of all the character's listed, this one has the most screen time, and is neccessary for diorama purposes, as we already have Palpy and Amedda.

Hmmmmm, I would have voted for Onaconda Farr the Rodian senator instead of the other one. Or even an Ister Paddie and Ronet Coorr 2-pack. Lexi Dio is pretty hot as senators go. Then there's the issue of you having Po Nudo listed when Po Nudo is actually a seperatist according to the official publications surrounding the release of AOTC. I'd like to see Sei Taria and Sly Moore and a new Mas Amedda with tongue action. Senator Amidala would be cool as long she was accompanied by Dorme in that purple cloak. Aks Aak or Aks Moe would be pretty cool The pic of Eidley Teem is what used to be known as Aks Moe I believe. Horox Ryyder would be my final choice though. Watto's box seats cinema scene gave us the hard to find Graxol Kelvyyn who was impossibly tall and way overscaled. Using the arms and head of that figure and making a new body that was about a third shorter would give us a correct scale Horox Ryyder carded. The head and the hands of the Graxol figure are really nice and it's a shame that so many people had a hard time finding him. So my vote goes to a rescaled resculpt of Graxol as Horox instead.

Good suggestions Jargo.

Any pictures you care to post to this thread of these other characters could help.

Honestly, I have a whole "other" huge list of figures I want made before any of the politicians :) but I voted for the Wookie...let the wookie win!

Whoever wants a Sly Moore fig, just pick up the blue bald chick figure from Far Scrape :crazed:

Beast
11-25-2002, 08:05 PM
I thought of that. The scale is totally off, since the Farscape figures are 6" tall. Besides, she's a weird looking hot chick. How could anyone not want her. :)

ISE has come home...and he is angry! Your vote has been added by hand. As for the "invalid session" thing, I still think it's a cookie problem on your end since people who aren't logged in users can vote but you can't. Anyway, should be addressed in the upcoming software update.

As for my own vote, I didn't bother because I wouldn't buy any of 'em.

I Like Sly.

Jargo's right, right? About Po Nudo being a Separatist and all?

Tycho
11-26-2002, 12:16 AM
I don't know.

Here's the bigger question:

Did the Separatists continue to send their Senate delegations to Coruscant after declaring themselves 'out of the Republic?'

It would be a good way to maintain a voice in the Republic's policy without paying the taxes: so long as the Senate said they could not seceede (did the Senate ever say this?), then they should have a representative there.

So that begs another question about the Separatist leadership:

Did the Trade Federation still have Lott Dodd on Coruscant in E2?

Did Mon Calamari still have Senator Tikkes (the Quarren) there?

Did the Banking Clan still have a representative?

Did Shu Mai have a delegate from the Commerce Guild there?

Did Passal Argente have someone representing his system's interests?

That would explain Po Nudo's appearance in the Senate IF he was a Separatist. Ando would still want him there to monitor the situation in the Republic. But Nudo did seem to want to speak and vote. If the Aqualish seceeded, they wouldn't get a vote, right?

We're talking about Palpatine manipulating the rules here, too. So a lot of things are possible.

Po Nudo was not on Geonosis though. That is for sure.

I voted Yarua also. Mostly because of the same Wookie fetish as most others here ... though I'll say that the whole idea of senator figures is pretty attractive to me. Such an odd idea for a toy if you think about it ... alien senators. Imagine a bunch of six year olds sitting around roll playing with these toys ... how creepy.

I voted Edcel Bar Gan because we haven't seen a figure like that before. Some figures can be customized to make other senatorial figures.

I voted for the Umbaran Sly Moore.

I'd like to add some remarks. The Rodian Senator in Episode I does not have a name. This name is not official. It has been given bij 'red6 encyclopedia'. He is named Onoconda Farr in Episode II, but we don't know if he was already a Senator in Episode II.

Pu Nudo is not present in the Senate either. De Andoan Free Colonies decided to contineu their support to the Republic while Ando itself seceded. The Andoan Senator is Gorothin Vagger (source Eps II DVD Depth Commentary).

I don't think the corporations did still have a representative in the Senate. About Calamari, you could say that Tikkes was just a corrupt Senator and that he was replaced by Tundra Dowmeia. I don't think Castell, Muun and Kooriva still had a representative since their planet was too closely allied with the CIS Fractions (Commerce Guild - Banking Clan - Corporate Alliance).

At least these are my thoughts :)

I'd love an ET, but being a realist (and having joined the discussion late) I know it's never going to happen. But as for out choices I voted for Sly Moore. She had more screen time, you use a diagrams, and I think she would a cool figure.
Yarua is a very close second and I would like to see him done.

Jabba's Hit Man
11-26-2002, 12:26 PM
Well, I would vote for Sly Moore...but it's still not letting me vote. I like the Gran Senator though, he would have been a close second. Sly looks cool, and they could do something meat with the face. Have it a little tilted, giving somewhat of an odd look to someone else. Hm, maybe that's why she has the name "Sly." I dunno, just sounds good to me. I just feel sorry for her looking like O'Conner.

I'm still searching for a good pic of Aks Aak but here's some of the other senators. I only include Dorme because she goes with Amidala so neatly it would be a bit daft not to make the two of them together. Plus she's a hottie so she deserves a figure made of her IMO :)

Onaconda Farr only appears in the gold colored outfit as far as I know and the outfit worn by that Rodian in the senate pod there is perhaps a different Rodian but the blurb that accompanied the pic said it was Onaconda farr so i put both pics in. If hasbro were to do Both outfits they could get away with calling the one in gold Dar Wac Palpatine's aide since he wore the same outfit that Onaconda Farr wore later. Lucas says that's about continuity with all Rodians wearing similar clothing.... pity he hasn't applied the continuity rule to the rest of the saga then. What's with all those aliens in the prequels having the three finger hands and then in the OT they have five finger humanoid hands? Gonna look pretty daft isn't it if he doesn't CGI those extraneous fingers out. But be that as it may here's the pics so far...

I voted for Sei Taria because I like her better than Sly and we don't need any of those others.

Man, why do I always want the Losers? Either the Walrus Man or Hammerhead would have been totally rocking in my book as I love these "classic" characters and more of their species would be wicked cool in my book. Sigh . . . I just can't win.

Yes, you are misinterpreting that post. He made the first part bold, so people would read it. Instead of having the entire thread full of "Why didn't you include the E.T. Senator?" questions. Not to mention it's been brought up and discussed many many times since 1999. :)

Yes, I posted that large not because I was shouting, but because I wanted to head off the long discussion flood that might've followed had everyone who wanted an E.T. figure on a SW card chimed in on that issue. It was nothing personal, and as I said, I'm looking at ways to add E.T.'s to the figures I'm collecting to build a Senate diorama myself.

Meanwhile, sure I could have offered the E.T.s in the poll, but in the poll asking for which Cantina Aliens you want Hasbro to make next, (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11347) I did offer the Tonnika Sisters, knowing full-well that they cannot be produced.

However, Hasbro might find the overwhelming support that Brea and Senni received to be justification for another attempt to get Lucasfilm to work things out with Christine Hewitt and Angela Staines so that they won't sue Lucas if we get action figures.

They still could make Shada D'ukal and Karoly D'ulin in "Mos Eisley Espionage Disguises" and use some EU picture of Shada and Karoly from the comic books in their Mistryal Shadow Warrior Women get-ups for the cards (so no pictures are used) but create Shada and Karoly's figures to look like they were while they were posing as the Tonnika Sisters when Luke and Ben walked into the bar. That might still not avert a lawsuit, but they might stand a better chance of winning it if they went that route.

On the other hand, Hasbro has this relationship with Lucasfilm to make money. They are able to use the license per paying Lucas' fees and so long as they stay in his favor. (Not to mention we don't want them to suddenly change the action figure size so our E3 figures won't match the rest of our modern collection, do we?) So Hasbro probably doesn't want to make any big waves to come crashing onto Skywalker Ranch.

In the meantime, the Arcona, Hem Dazon, had better see production as the next single-carded SW Cantina Alien, since he got the next highest amount of votes by an extreme margin, or Hasbro is crazy! The other high-demand Cantina aliens were the Gotal and Dannik Jerriko, the Anzati Vampire with the pipe.

The poll for the fans' most wanted Jabba the Hutt Palace Aliens (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15355) was much closer, with Yarna de Gargan (the large, errrr....multi-featured dancer) winning a good majority, but with Herme Odel making a strong showing. 4 more characters did significantly well, that they all should receive some of Hasbro's most generous attention: J'Quille the Whipid, Sgt. Doallyn the Guard, Bubo the dog, and Rappertunie the frog with the harmonica from the Max Rebo Band.

Meanwhile, in case anyone wondered, I supported Yarua the Wookiee Senator in this poll. I could use more figures of Sly Moore, and to be honest, Eidley Teem the Gran Senator as well, plus Sei Teria should stand with Chancellor Valorum and Mas Ameeda in E1 Senate dioramas. But I just like Wookiees! - and especially a new sculpt that does not wear Chewbacca's signature bandolier. Along with a Wookiee Jedi that's rumored, I hope we see two different and new body sculpts for Wookiees during the next 2 years, as well as fur color, eye color, etc. Rorwroor was cheating on Hasbro's part (pretty much).

I also think Po Nudo and Mot-Nat Rab would make cool figures! I liked their unique look - and Po Nudo is from the other Aqualish race from Ando - as he has 4 eyes compared to Ponda Baba's only 2. This would make a unique Aqualish character in our collection and it would be a nice new take on a Classic Star Wars alien like somebody suggested.

I couldn't have put it better than Darth Cruel. Sly Moore would have been my second choice, but there seems to be enough "statue" figures out there already (Chancellor Palpatine, Lott Dod, Mon Mothma, Emperor Palpatine) and I don't think Wookies would just stand around doing nothing in senatorial debates. Plus, it's been a while since any Wookies have been involved in the SW universe onscreen on in figures.

To be honest, i WOULD choose all of them, and I'm sure Sly Moore will undoubtedly be made one of these days if Mas Amedda and Orn Free Taa have already been made. Plus, differnet "Hammerhead" "Greedo" and "Walrus Man" figures are aways welcome in my book, as I'm a sucker for the original line of figs, but the poll asked for one, so I gotta go with the Wookie :)

Thought I'd recycle this thread in light of the current poll.

I was going to follow up this poll actually with a vote on which Separatists we wanted made, but I think with the exceptions of Tonbuck Toora and Senator Tiikes, they pretty much have have now made all the improtant leaders! -Oh, wait, we need Nute Gunray's new Niemodian co-hort. So they could still do another 3-pack!

That's just too cool. When I made this poll of the loyal Senators I had no idea we'd be THIS lucky with getting most of the Separatists.

Sly Moore and Yarua recently did very well in our Scene-By-Scene Figures Never Made Before thread, basically re-enforcing their demand amongst collectors.

Rumor has it, they are being produced for late 2004 or as they appear in Episode 3.

The next two closest contenders, Mot Not Rob and Sei Teria (Valorum's aide) did not really place too highly in the Scene-By-Scene Thread, but they did get some votes if I recall correctly. After we have Sly Moore and Yarua, we can debate their merits. I also really like Po Nudo, the 4-eyed Aqualish senator from Ando.

Tycho
08-07-2006, 10:19 PM
I think Po Nudo should be made ASAP - as he (or she) became a Separatist and would make a great figure.

I like Neetche Kaa, the Rodian as well.

Sly Moore was produced, as she very convincingly demonstrated she "owned" this poll.

Yarua was clearly next, and coincindentally was included in the same POTC as Sly.

Mot Not Rab benefitted by appearing similar to the comics look for a Bothan, (he wasn't a Bothan though), but he's been forgotten about by collectors lately. You can't really see him anywhere in the movie, but it's conventional wisdom that the TPM taxi cab driver was the same species.

Sei Teria also seems to be forgotten. We have no SW figures of Asian women that I can recall, although the Jedi Baltar Swan seems to be more popular than Sei Teria these days.

Edcel Bar Gan would make an interesting figure and was more-wanted than Eidley Teem, who I think we can count as made since he's pretty close to Ask Aak anyway. (You've seen a Gran, then you've seen a Gran. Mawhonic's more of a Gran in Demand now.)

It's funny, after that super resculpt of Momaw Nadon, that Tendau Bendon was the least favored from this bunch, but we have had a few Hammerheads over the years and something different is always welcome.

Well, with a liberal view of the Gran senator and enjoying Momaw's latest Ithorian resculpt a little too much - we could almost say that 4/9 or nearly half of our list, has been now produced.

I will have to see if I ever polled for Podracers this way. Niche subcategories for figures are pretty cool.

Tycho
06-07-2010, 02:57 PM
We have most of these left to go:

It's easier to list the ones that have been made:

Po Nudo
Yarua
Eidley Teem (Ask Aak was the Gran Senator actually made)
Sly Moore

Neetche Ka seemed to have been replaced by Senator Aconda Far for representation of Rodia - though I'm not sure if both might have been serving at the same time. But wasn't Far just killed in Clone Wars? Maybe Ka replaces him for ROTS? Either way, he's become prominent in Clone Wars but I'd like both the animated and realistic versions of his character made.
