View Full Version : 2003 rehash figures

I have heard that in the new assortments figures like eeth koth and others will be showing up on the saga cards. Are they going to be "numbered" like the other figures (ie) anakin outland peasant disguise#1 or just extra figures in the cases in saga packaging. just wondering is all...

They should assumingly be numbered, though they will likely be added to the end of the 2002 numbers. Since we already have #1-#22 announced for the 2003 figures. And they weren't included. We won't know until carded samples start popping up. But I'm going to bet they are figures #54-#57 of 2002. :)

BTW, they are re-issues of previously released figures. A rehash would be to use old parts to make a totally new figure. That's not the case in these, as they are recardings of the POTJ figures. Atleast in the case of Eeth and Teebo. The IO and RFT with varient heads would be considered variations. :D

I'm hoping that they put in some sort of assessories with Eeth & Teebo. I'm kind of excited for the Imperial Officer and Rebel Fleet Trooper, I know we all can use of few more of those two.

Will they have different sub-names, like Eeth Koth (Jedi Master), because they didn't when they where on POTJ cards?

I would think so, it would only seem fitting for them to have it. I dunno though, I would actually want a new eeth koth, with a nobel pose, insted of the action pose, unless your makin him in the jedi battle scene, for diaramoa purposes.

i think thats an excellent idea on hasbro's part, as long as they make it to canada this time around.

They should recard some of the harder to find E1 and POTF2 figures as well. I'm sure most people would appreciate another shot at Sio Bibble, TC-14, R2-B1, etc. I don't see it happening, but it's nice that Hasbro is trying to help collector's. :)

Hasbro trying to help collectors (cough cough)
Hasbro trying to make money.
They've just twigged that if people will pay scalpers and specialists up to 9 for eeth koth then they will certainly go out and buy the same figure three pounds cheeper from Hasbro.
It's just a way for Hasbro to make more money without the effort of producing new figures.
The fact it helps collectors is just a happy coincidence for us.

No, actually that wave of figures was short produced but proved to be very popular. Demand exceeded production so hasbro are meeting the demand a little later than anticipated. Of course they stand to make money, they wouldn't make anything if they didn't. I personally found all of that wave in plenty, but the repackeage army builders are udseful. I don't need a Teebo or Eeth but there are plenty of folks who do. Take a look in the POTJ section to see the cries of foul when they were short stocked in stores.
Hopefully more stuff like the Zuckuss and Piett wave from POTF and the TC-14 wave from EP1 will make it out on SAGA cards too so more people can finally get those items without paying ludicrous sums for them.

I do think that Hasbro is maybe trying to help us collectors. If there wasn't a demand for a certain figure in the first place, would there be a supply for them? I do not think that Hasbro would blindly produce toys that won't sell. A major company like Hasbro would have done their market surveys properly.

Besides Hasbro is a commercial firm. Profit maximisation is kind of what every company tries to do. If you don't like it, then don't buy it.

I think it would be nice to have some of the harder SAGA figures in their, I mean, I was out of the collecting StarWars figures for a while, I had no money   but now that Im back in, and I have been getting many new ones online (brianstoys.com) I have become very active again.I am extremly excited about the jedi Luke, and I cannot wait!!

Here's another vote for a Saga R2B1....toss in an Ascension Gun Amidala while you're at it and they could finish off my epI collection! And since we're on topic, how 'bout some of them old Expanded Universe duds that never made it to Canadian retail? Grand Admiral Thrawn on Saga card anyone?

Yeah point taken.
A re-carded R2-B1 and Amidala Ascension would really make my year.
They're the last two EP1 figures I need as well, they go for like 35-40 pound. I haven't spent that much since the heady days of the darktrooper and I don't intend to start now.
