Please tell me where can you find info about the TIE defender. Where did it appear in the SW Universe? What about the E-wing? I asked a lot of people but not many good answers...:(

the e-wing, as well as the tie defender are 1st mentioned in timothy zahn's original sw trilogy. (heir to the empire, the last command, and dark force rising)(i forget which order the books are in as it's been some time since i've read them  )

the e-wing is the new succesor to the x-wign for the new republic, the tie defender was only produced in small numbers as the cost for each ship was perceived to be way too high as far as thrawn was concerened. this was why it was so important to thrawn to capture the katana fleet, as it would be a boon to the imperial's navy without costing a single credit in fabrication costs.

Wasn't the TIE Defender in the LucasArts game TIE Fighter? I was pretty sure that came out before Zahn's books.

As for the E-wing, check this link.
