hey everyone go vote. I just got a notice from hasbro.

I'm not impressed with the selections this time around, personally, but go to it.

Captain Antilles will go great with Bespin Vader's hand around his neck. A great diorama. :crazed: :crazed: :crazed:

I had to vote for Jan Dodonna myself.

Senator Yarua - if I remember correctly...we were suposted to get him or rumored to get him shortly into Ep 1? Wasn't he on the flasback photo with Chewie? Chewie's grandpa or something?Kinda a snoozer, personally.

Ben Quadinaros - what this was his 2nd or 3rd time on the list? Can't he take a hint? Either that or hasbro already made him and is looking for popular vote to release him and say to the retailers "HA, they wanted him, now order a bunch from us!"

Rabé - That's the last thing I want is another lame-o handmaiden.

General Jan Dodonna - Important old codger in the Star Wars world. Slightly lame, but livable.

Captain Colton Antilles - nothing more than a rebel trooper with a differnt paint job and face. Use the new one that's comming out in a couple of months for a custom...or just change his name.

I was hoping for more aliens: a cantina patron, one of Jabba's goons, or maybe even a taste of some expanded universe figure...

The site won't let me in for whatever reason. :( Sounds like a great line-up. (cough, sarcasm, cough, cough)

Hopefully Dodonna will win. He and Yarua are the only viable choices. And hopefully if Dodonna wins, Crix Madine and Carlist Riekkan won't be too far behind.

Yeah, the Wookie Senator and the handmaiden are pretty much yawners, IMO, and I really don't want anymore pod racers unless they make more of the pods! That pretty much leaves it to Dodonna and Capt. Antilles. I voted for Antilles, but would really like to vote for both of these guys, we need them BOTH!!
Oh well...

jjreason
12-23-2002, 06:59 PM
Yep, Capt. Antilles. My poor POTJ rebel fleet trooper has been choked out by Bespin Vader too many times, it's time the proper victim received his due. Antilles it is, but Im sure we'll wind up with a "concept Lando in bespin loungewear" or some such crap. (Yes, I know it's not on the list, but Im still mad about the last vote.)

another handmaiden??? they haven't made any!!!:crazed:

what's the point of these polls? why don't they just make them all?:greedy:

Exactly. I voted for Antilles. The pic of yarua shows him/her with a sash or some such nonsense and if they make another wookiee i want it to be naked for customisation possibilities. I don't want another wookiee with a bandolier type strap acros it permanently. Dodonna was going to get my vote but i just know they'd screw him up a la Uncle owen. Ben Quadinaros is cute but what's the point of podracers if they have no pods to race? handmaidens don't interest me anymore since I ditched ninety percent of my episode one stuff. They'd just be a big salt shaker of orange plastic with a teeny tiny face hidden in the folds of the hood. more boring than the original POTF royal guard.

I'm building up my rebel forces and i reckon a commander for the rebel fleet trooper would be more useful to me, But if i had the choice I'd say make them all anyway too. Stop all the messing about and frustrations of yet another rigged poll and just throwm them all into the production mill along with all the other fan's choice options not yet made. If the choices are baed on peoples want lists on various websites then obviously people want them anyway. Demand is there, go with the flow, better the variety of all the fan's choice characters than more boring jango fett and Obi-Wan figures.

I voted Antilles, but it doesn't look good for him at 23%. ALTHOUGH! Dodonna is at 28% and the leader... maybe we will get a good figure.......

Old Fossil

I voted for Dodonna. He at least has several lines in ANH, and survives the Battle of Yavin. The most Capt. Antilles manages in his brief screen time is to get his throat crushed.

Then again, the one I was hoping to see listed on the poll -- R5-D4 -- blew a gasket with his brief screen time.

Dodonna will make a decent figure. Hasbro's been improving on their old men figures since Uncle Owen, such as the various old Obi-Wan's, Sio Bibble, Count Dooku, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. I am actually excited about this poll, and it looks like Dodonna stands a good chance of winning it. I think the choices are at least as good as the last poll's, probably better.

I wonder what accessories Dodonna will come with, if he wins?

ENOUGH BLOODY HUMANS. That is all I have to say. I wan't big ol' Ephant Mon sized aliens/Jedi that have so many robes and/or so much plastic that the scent knocks you out when you take it out of the package! Not some...guy with a centimeter-long blaster as an accessory.

Tough choices but I voted for Ben Quadinaros simply because I want more pod racer vehicles. If he wins (doubt he will), a vehicle should follow. :)

My second choice would be Captain Antilles.

Why would a vehicle follow ben Quadinaros when we haven't yet got pods for gasgano or Ody Mandrell or Teemto pagalies? What makes Ben Quadinaros more special? Frankly I think they all deserve pods so we can get a good race going.

Nice, real nice.... Just yesterday I was admiring my 3 great fans choice figures thinking "Cool! Since I'm not buying most of the crappy figures Hasbro's producing nowadays, at least I can count on the fans choice polls".

What a load.... I wouldn't buy any of these figures, so there's no point in me voting. I'm with Darth Sidious here, more cantina aliens or Jabbas henchmen. Or even a fans choice EU lineup would be nice.

But this ? Just lame...... Where did they come up with this list anyways?

Bonsoir ŕ vous!

Can someone tell me how hasbro make their selection for the fan's choice? Can someone tell me the choice we had in the past? Can someone tell me the% of each?

I was deceive in the fan's choice 4. I thought I realy had only 3 choices and my 3 choices lost. This time... I don't know... I vote for Rabé... it is strange for me it is padmé in another suit...

I thik I lost the track...
The fan's choice is not supposed to be figure that we want?
There is a list of figures wanted in the Dear Hasbro section... Yarna... Hermie... and some other...

Finally, i thought we were suppose to have a choice for each movie!

Do we realy count for hasbro?

Hope my english is good!

Allez hasbros... faites un petit effort... vos choix sont horribles.

I kinda hope the wookie doesn't win because we already technically have 3 Chewbacca, Snoova (Yes it's cheating but hey!), and Rowwort(sp?) thus I've already made a somewhat diorama even though it looks weird with a senetor covered with ammo I would rather have other things completed 1st

Hmm, a tough one. The Handmaiden (Rabe), General Jan Dodonna, and Captain Antillies have been on my "Most Wanted" list for a while. I don't mind the fact there are no aliens on the list. Hasbro knows that aliens will sell, so there is no reason to poll for them. Same with droids. Now secondary humans and weird minor aliens are better choices.

Guess out of the three, I'm going to go with General Jan Dodonna. I was flip-flopping between Antillies and Dodonna. Why did they have to include them both on the same poll. It's going to split the vote again, just like Riekeen and the Imperial Dignitary did. Which will leave a chance for one of the others to win. :(

By the way, I saw that Turbowars was having trouble voting. So before I voted I snagged the link to the voting page. Just incase anyone else is having similar problems with the Hasbro page. Here's the voting results as of 11:11 EST.

General Jan Dodonna : 31 %
Captain Antilles : 23 %
Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 22 %
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 12 %
Rabé : 12 %

Voting results as of my post:

Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 22 %
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 12 %
Rabé : 13 %
Gen. Jan Dodonna : 31 %
Captain Antilles : 23 %

Gen Jan Dodonna. C'mon, some old white guy is leading?

Captain Antilles second, when he looks just like two other trooper figures made or in the works?

Sen Yarua. Now there's a cool looking pic/figure. A Wookie would look great with collection of other senators.

Rabe. A handmaiden . . . now that's a real yawn!

Ben Quadinaros. Would be my second choice, not because I want pod racers (I don't), but just because I think he's next best-looking character (better than the trio of boring humans).

So there you go, let the Wookie win!

Whats all the complaing about Captain Antillies? I keep seeing how people say he looks the same as the RFT's. When other then the helmet being the same, he's dressed in a totally different uniform then the Rebel Fleet Trooper. He has tan trousers with a black stripe up the leg, a blue shirt, and a tan coat with rank bars. :p Teebo, here is the last four Fan Choice polls. I don't have the percentage breakdown, unfortunatly. :)

No imperials on the list!! Oh well, I voted for Jan Dodonna. What is all this fuss about the R5-D4 ?? Wasn't there one already made for Power of the Force back in 96 or so? Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 21 %
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 12 %
Rabé : 12 %
Gen. Jan Dodonna : 30 %
Captain Antilles : 24 %

I can't believe the Wookie is doing so well, and I smell antother Sketch trooper... I wonder if Hasbro has the voting counted by the Florida election workers?

I voted Captain Antilles, here's the Stats after my vote

Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 21 %
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 12 %
Rabé : 12 %
Gen. Jan Dodonna : 31 %
Captain Antilles : 24 %

The only two I'm interested in are: Antilles, and Dodonna. The rest I could care less about. There are many more Imperials and Rebel officers that need much more attention for building the proper armies we need and what not.

Respect authority young man! A General outranks a mere ship's captain!

I went to this much trouble to build a Blockade Runner for my action figures, (http://www.figures.com/databases/action.cgi?setup_file=sscollections2.setup&category=starwars&topic=32&post_num=1&search_and_display_db_button=yes) but I can only use Captain Antilles in my ship. And oh you better believe I've wanted to for a long, long time!

But I can use 2 Dadonna figures, one in my Yavin Base in command of all the Rebels fighting in 'A New Hope' and one at the Ceremony Scene. Plus I think the people that are labeling him 'a boring, old man figure' are essentially correct - which is why it's up to us collectors that want to complete our dioramas to bring Dadonna to victory!

It is true that Hasbro is up to date on a lot of what aliens we want to see made. SirStevesGuide.com already did 3 polls, one was for Galactic Senate figures (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16131) in which Yarua the Wookiee Senator was defeated by Chancellor Palpatine's aide Sly Moore by more than 23% of the vote. Another poll done on SSG was for Cantina Aliens (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11347) which when ignoring the unproduceable Tonnika Sisters (see that thread for an explanation), Hem Dazon the Arcona totally cornered all the votes.Yarna de Gargan (Jabba's fat dancer) won the Jabba's aliens poll. (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15355) These results were all forwarded to Hasbro and each of SSG's polls include good pictures.

While all it means is that they have been e-mailed our results and probably saw it online here themselves, they know. Meanwhile, in last week's poll enthusiasm for more pod racer vehicles was only about 60% and that's a majority, but not a strong enough one for Hasbro to look at producing the pods, last I heard. I should do another poll and simply ask what percentage of you buy vehicles, so we have something to compare the results with - and see if the 40% who don't want podracers, just don't collect the vehicles to begin with. But anyway, while Quadrinaros might have the most interesting podracer, he's hardly the best looking of the bunch to make a pilot out of (and pass up Dud Bolt???)

Meanwhile, Rabe would be highly useful to my scenes. I don't care if it's Padme, Rabe, or Sabe in the orange handmaiden outfit - I'll be buying about 10-11 of these figures to complete scenes and crew the Royal Starship, however one of them HAS TO BE Padme, and if the figure looks significantly different from her, or they are also going to do her in the orange robes, I'd rather only have Padme. Sure, the figure's more useful to me than General Dadonna, but I think they know that Padme would be more popular, and she's on their list for some point.

But I would very much like all of these figures. I think that Dadonna is just the best choice - and stands the least likelihood of seeing production should he lose this poll.

This is Captain Tycho Celchu of Rogue Squadron and SirStevesGuide.com - also President of the Mouse Droid Sniffer's Association (which points out that Dadonna will have that flexi-plastic cloak they'll make him in which will be great for new-plastic snorting), and amongst other things as a founding member of the Satanists' Club here, I point out that Lucipher is older than anyone else, so respect Seniority like his and Dadonna's - and finally as a Democrat, I note that Dadonna could be as boring as Al Gore - and most of this country obviously DID want him to win the popular vote - so go and Vote Dadonna!

Let's make him popular!

I am really shocked at the selection. Last pole I would have probably bought all of them if they had made them all, but this time around I could not decide on which one I actually cared less for than any other one.

Then where is Bom Vimdim in our cantina?

Yarael Poof doesn't count so much, as to complete the Jedi Council, you know they HAVE to do him - maybe in that Jedi Masters' 3-pack for this coming new year???

Ozzel I could care less about, until they make Jerjerrod and Veers.

Derlin I kind of want, but not over Reikeen and Torynn Farr.

For Even Piel, see my comments about Yarael Poof (probably going to see the Lannik Jedi Master anyway)

R1-G4 has GOT to be made! Far cooler than even the astro-droid repaints I want!

The Twilek girls are awfully tempting, though too closely resembling the Jedi Aayla Secura to see them come out the same year. However, customizers: I'd wait and not make Sebulba's massage twins. Hasbro likes doing Twi'lek girls...

Rieeken and the Dignitary nearly tied, and that Sketchtrooper had to have been hacked and rigged to win. Votes for it broke over both faction's leading gentlemen totally overnight. To not make Rieeken and the Dignitary would be ludicrous.

Nym might have been interesting. I liked that comic, but he's hardly the choice EU next to Quinlan, Villie, Kir Kanos, or one of Han Solo's kids.

The Rebel Soldier in Bikerscout Disguise would have been an oddity I wouldn't be thrilled about - but if you could put his helmet on and have him stand in as a regular scout, he would have been purchased like an army-builder.

Looking back over what I just wrote, I think they use these polls to test the most obscure stuff they WANT TO MAKE myself, so Sith_Killer's point is possible.

But if I do get my General Rieeken figure at long last, I am still not going to be pleased that I had to wait while the Sketchtrooper saw production first.

I just voted for the Dignit, er Wookie figure!

Denial is a tough thing to live with:D

Though Dadonna will probably win, I'd dig a Wookie figure that is different than Chewie. Since Hasbro usually tries with the Fan Choice ones, this could potentially offer us a Wookie body that could be customized.

After Ephant Mon, it is hard to get too excited about some old fart being made into a figure, but that's just me.

Tycho
12-24-2002, 04:08 PM
What about the Wookiee Jedi that's in 2003's Jedi 3-or-4-pack.

I think it was confirmed (at another reliable site) that there would be a:

Human Jedi
Twi'lek (male) Jedi (in addition to Aayla being carded)
Rodian Jedi
Wookiee Jedi

The Wookiee Jedi might not wear Jedi robes.

The figure is all EU anyway, and EU has established before that Wookiee Jedi do not wear the robes.

Jedi robes are used to disguise what species a Jedi is, so they can better go about an investigation incognito.

Everyone is going to be able to tell something 7 feet tall is likely not native to many particularly homogenous populations (Whipids, Eloms, and natives of Alzoc III some notable exceptions). Therefore, it is less common that a Wookiee Jedi needs Jedi robes.

Wookiee Jedi were not seen in any SW movie. Wookiee Jedi in the Expanded Universe include 2:

Lowbacca in the New Jedi Order (Chewie's nephew, trained by Luke)

Plo Koon's Jedi Master (killed during the Stark Hyperspace Wars)

It's possible that Plo's master wore the robes - I can't recall. However, if Hasbro's multi-pack Jedi does not have molded Jedi robes, or if he wears soft-goods that are removeable, customizers should have their wish.

The bandolier strap Chewie wears is a custom job in their universe. Chewie made it himself as far as I've learned. Another Wookiee that uses a bowcaster (the species' signature weapon) might have a similar strap - or a belt, or a trench coat with pockets, a vest, whatever... All Wookiees do not wear straps like Chewie's.

However, the Senator Yarua appears from official pictures to be shorter than most Wookiees. He will not be great to customize - save for possibly making customs of Lumparawoo (Chewie's son) or Lowbacca (if the multi-pack isn't Lowie in all but name anyway). And furthermore, by NJO's time, Lowie and Lumpy are full grown and as tall as their heroic relative anyway. Lumpy wears an ammo belt not a bandolier like his father's, I believe. Lowie has a plant-vine (Syreen fiber) belt that's woven and artistic, and it holds a translator droid and his lightsaber. Lowie does not wear Jedi robes.

Veers

I was hopin for a bit more expanded universe figs, maybe a madine or reiken, but if expanded, like a new clone palpitne or some others, and jabbas goones would be cool too, if hasbro got off their butts and made a skiff veichele/playset thingy. That would make for a neat diaorama.

I thought this was a total no-brainer in the favor of the Wookmeister, but after seeing that Rabe was in formal handmaiden dress and not like the Sabe and OG Amidala, I plopped down my vote for her.

Here's my reasons:

Gen. Dodonna - Yeah, he's got that pseudo Saruman look going, but come on, he is an old dude after all. *cough*rieekan*cough*Imp. Dig.*cough*
Plus if you really want one, just dump liquid paper on Uncle Owen's hair and get on with it.

Cap'n Antilles - Can you say RTF in different pants.? Can you also say Malibu Stacey with NEW HAT!?

Quadrinaros - Now that GNT's left the SSG forums who among us thought Gasgano and Ody were great figures to make? What's Benny Boy going to bang on without a podracer instrument panel? Pilot Ani's joystick?

Senator Bushybritches - OK, he's not human and we've only ever had one other Wookie character (and I'm not including Rrowrrw-or however you spell it), but we've never had a handmaiden sculpt like Rabe so why not pick that one.

BTW, Tycho, tone down that font size in your tagline. It's taking me hours to load up this thread. ;)

MC, as I posted earlier in the thread, the uniforms for the basic RFT and Captain Antilles are totally different. His boots are brown. The pants are tan with a black stripe. He's wearing a brown shirt. And he's also wearing a tan officer's jacket with rank insignia. Seems in my earlier post, I had the colors messed up a bit. But regardless, other then the helmet being the same, the uniform is not alike at all. :)

Maybe it was the holida wine...but ya know I wonder if it would be better if Hasbro set up a poll like this.

Give us 4 brackets or topics, with 4 options in each bracket. We vote for one of the four brackets or topics, then we select the figure from there.

For example: The 1st poll would be choose A, B, C, or D.

A) Expanded Universe
1- Clone Emperor
2- Jacen Solo
3- Mara Jade Skywalker
4- Jan Ors

B) Phantom Menace
1- Handmaiden
2- 5 pack of pit droids
3- Naboo Female Pilot
4- Nemoidian Control Ship Pilot

C) Jabba's crew
1- Jabba
2- Destroyed old entreperter
3- Elom figure
4- Hermie

D) A New Hope
1- Biggs
2- Chared remains of Uncle and Aunt
3- Fried Jawas
4- C-3P0 w/ Sand and removable arm

Votes are counted, and lets say D won, then we choose one of the 4. Give us a week or so for the 1st section then a week for the second...

It would give us a larger selection to choose from and maybe get rid of these iffy polls. It doesn't sound like a lot of folks are happy with the current options. I know I wasn't overly excited about this one. It was like choose one the lesser evils. No matter who wins, I don't think they will sell as well as the Duros or Mon, or the demand won't be as high.

Depending on how we vote, it might open Hasbro's eyes as to what we really want...and might open more avenues.

Just a thought...

I agree that fans should pick semi-finalists before having a final vote.

There are really only two obvious candidates out of the five: Ben & Dodanna. Here is my reasoning, and after this my final vote:

Wookie Senator: Sure, a plain ol no name Wookie is cool, but it had little real screen time. It's also next to impossible to put it in any diorama because there arent that many senators (none that I know of)

Rabe: How many decoys can you make?? Give us Padme in all her outfits first, then make the decoys.....

Captain Antilles: This would be a cool figure, but I know how Hasbro thinks, & they would mold it just like you see in the picture posted by JJB. Instead of a neutral pose, they would mold him with his arms up near his neck, with the head tossed back. It would be absolutely horrid.... You know, like Admiral Motti & his choke face & hand..... Cool figure, but pretty useless....

Ben Quadinaros: This would be a cool figure. But, being as there is no sign of any pods for any of the pod racers, why make another pod racer?? I would love to have a whole set of pod racers, but with no pods, its pretty pointless.

Jan Dodanna: We don't have any Rebel commanders at all. We need at least one (Mon Mothma doesnt really count). Being as how we got robbed on the last poll with Riekkan we should get this one.

So my vote went towards Jan Dodanna. Here are the poll results so far:

Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 20 %
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 12 %
Rabé : 13 %
Gen. Jan Dodonna : 32 %
Captain Antilles : 23 %

I have to thank Hasbro for this poll. All real secondary charecters and no bad EU choices or concept stuff. No cool weird aliens like Ephant, who should just be made anyway. Just 5 often requested but never recieved charecters that only collector's would really care about. That's who should show up in fan polls. I would even go even more obscure, if I were running it. :)

Yes, the sketchtrooper: Ralph McQuarrie's (original SW trilogy production artist) first proto-look for the stormtroopers when he thought all of them would be carrying lightsabers.

Tjovonovich had a good idea: let us pick from 6 categories, then have a final round. It'll make Hasbro's site even more exciting, and put something at stake in it for almost everybody - even non-EU fans, since they at least voted for a character from each category: though I'd go 1 for each movie, and 1 EU:

ANH:

Antilles
Dadonna
R1-G4
Biggs Academy Uniform
Hem Dazon

ESB:

Veers
Rieeken
Farr
Leia (medical frigate)
Lando (smuggler's outfit)

ROTJ:

Madine
Imperial Dignitary
Yarna dal Gargan
J'Quille
Chief Chirpa

TPM:

Tey How (Niemoidian pilot)
Padme (handmaiden)
Dud Bolt (pod racer)
SwokesSwokes (Chubba Seller)
Yarua (Wookiee Senator)

AOTC:

Elan Sleezebagano (death stick salesman)
CloneTrooper (red training suit)
Jango Fett (Kamino Apartment)
Corde (Senator's Decoy)
Passal Argente (Separatist Senator)

Expanded Universe:

Jaina Solo
Quinlan Vos
Yuuzhan Vong Warrior
Vilmah Grahrk (Villie)
Kir Kanos (Crimson Guard)

Then you have a run-off between the 6 - all chosen because they were desired by us. And since I'd have a tough time choosing between my lists (LOL), any character that got like say over 15% of the vote (even if they lost) could return for the next Fan Choice Poll. That is: Say Lando Smuggler's Gear won ESB, but Torryn Farr got 15% of the vote, the next ESB selection would look either exactly the same, or if Lando won the whole mountain, would replace him with a new ESB offering like Luke in the medical robes. If Leia Medical Frigate only got 8% of the vote - she would not return to another ESB list if there were other characters available (not that this whole thing wouldn't be a furious battle for each category! - I want ALL these figures listed and am not sure how I'd vote! Dang I made it hard....!!!!)

OK... - Biggs, Veers, J'Quille, Padme, Corde, Yuuzhan Vong....

Then I'd pick the Yuuzhan Vong because I dream of making a scene with Luke fighting off like 7-10 of these guys by himself - finally a true Jedi Master! - plus EU is the toughest to get produced.

I picked Biggs because he's so obscure from a Deleted Scene and the others stand better chances.

I picked Veers, because he's less potent than a major character, but I want to make him with all the snowtroopers lined up in a mission briefing scene in what would be the inside of an Imperial Walker.

J'Quille because I want him in my Jabba's Palace more than anything now that I have Ephont Mon!

Padme - because I need about 11 handmaiden figures and I'll just reuse her for 5 scenes, each time with 2 handmaidens flanking the Queen, 1 time with Anakin as Padme, herself.

Corde - because she blew up 3 seconds into AOTC and had no speaking lines - thus she's the lest likeliest to be produced. Elan Sleezebagano is coming in 2003, but unconfirmed at this point.
And AOTC is the most popular SW movie right now, with the largest figures-yet-unproduced selection.

Dang! I do want all of these figures to be made, and so many more! But my strategy is always to vote for the least likely to be produced (if I want it to be made in the first place! - I did not vote for the sketchtrooper!!!)

In fact, in the past I voted: #4 -Rieeken, #3 - Ephont Mon, # 2 - Amanaman, # 1 Duros - so winning 3/4 is not bad...

But I think "real EU" comes from comics and novels that are part of the continuity - not discarded sketchbooks or unused concept designs.

My rank in the poll from best to worst:
1. Captain Antilles - I voted for Antilles because I love everything to do with the Tantive IV. (As a side note, I think that Hasbro should have made the head sculpt of the older Rebel Fleet Trooper with the gray hair instead of the newly sculpted head that I've seen online recently.) Also, a lot of people on these forums ask for Antilles all the time. It would let us move on to something new to lust after.
2. Gen. Jan Dodanna - The battle of Yavin is (maybe I should say 'was' since I've seen the movies a hundred times) one of the most suspenseful scenes in all of Star Wars. However, Dodanna is not why I love this scene. Sure, he trained the Rebels and then guided them while in battle, but it was the pilots in the trenches of the Death Star that made that scene great, in particular guys like Gold Leader and Red Leader.
3. Rabe - It would help to have a generic handmaiden that looks like Padme to fill the niche in our Episode I collectoins.
4. Ben Quadinaros - I thought that Teemto was a very attractive carded figure so if that gives any indication as to how well future pod racers will look carded then I wouldn't mind getting them. I don't have much reason to open them though with no pods.
5. Senator Yarua - I have a feeling that if I spent a couple hours carving a piece of wood and then staining it that I could get the same result as I would get from this figure. I like senator figures generally but I wouldn't want a fan's choice figure sculpt wasted on something like this which I'm sure, at a quick glance, will just look like another bad Chewbacca resculpt.

Since Dodonna and Captain Antillies wears the same outfit, if they make Dodonna all we have to do is remove the head and swap it with a re-painted RFT head. 2 figures in one. All that would need to be done is repaint the pips on his rank badge. I think you would need to paint the black stripe up the side of the legs also. :)

Hi everybody, I just wanted to say a few words about the vote.
I want to remind everybody that some of these characters are more likely to be made into figures than others, even if they don't come in first place this time! I voted for Sabe, I'm sure she has the least chance of making it to production without this type of vote. Sure there's other characters I would rather see,( where the heck are the Cloud Cars, and pilots? ). But when it really comes down to it, I'd love to see all the characters made. Or as many as possible.

Here, I found a picture of Dodonna without his coat on. If you'll compare it to the picture I posted earlier of Antilles the uniform is exactly the same other then the rank badge being red instead of blue and I don't think Dodonna's trousers have a black stripe down the sides. :)

So I hope Dodonna does win, won't be hard at all if they make his coat removable so that we can do a headswap and a minor repaint to get Antilles also. Should just release it as a Rebel Officer builders kit with an Antilles head and a Dodonna head. :)

Jargo

Amanaman is too short. There's a pic somewhere showing that Amanaman and Ephant are nearly the same height and that Amanaman is taler than a gamorrean guard. hasbro made Amanaman shorter than a gamorrean guard and therefoe he's wrongo. Or they made Ephant too tall. but judging by a group shot i have of the whole of jabba's court posing in and around jabba, Ephant is a massive costume and hasbro got him right scale wise but since a lot of the other figures are wrong scale Ephant by dint of perfection is wrong. I like them all though so i'm not complaining just observing with my little eye. My big eye just sees cool toys to play with.

I've been looking at the choices again and i reckon my big eye would look at any of the choices with avarice while my little eye would scorn the puny Rabe and her Orange sorbet outfit, heap bile on Ben Quadinaros and utterly dismiss Yarua for being a stretched walnut in kak colored plastic. My big eye would be urging me to go out and spend lots of money getting a small coven of orange clad wenches and one more pod pilot and a cool new senator and a couple of rebel commanders. My big eye wants to see all the choices on a card hanging from pegs in the stores. My little eye wants only Antilles or Dodonna. My big eye will be sorely disappointed when the winner is announced and there's just one. A draw would be a much better conclusion according to my big eye.

Who is winning BTW?

I can't understand the lack of enthusiasm for a General Dodonna figure. I mean, who wouldn't think it cool to have his figure, surrounded by Biggs, Luke, Wedge, Porkins, and POTF2 FF Leia? Throw in R2, Threepio, a RFT, maybe some other droids, and you've got one cool diorama.

We need a Rebel General, other than Leia and Han and Lando. Right now, Dodonna is our best hope. I actually think he'd make a more striking figure than either Rieekan or Madine, unless Hasbro musses it up, which is quite conceivable.

That is true. However, human characters are useful in completing the cast of characters in Star War dioramas. In this poll, we were offered

3 humans:

Rabe
Dodonna
Antiles

and 2 aliens:

Yarua
Quadrinaros

I've really wanted all these figures, and long for a new Wookiee character. I totally must have Yarua at some point - and some more Pod Racers, too.

That being said, and me agreeing that Human figures are more boring, I think with a Fans' Choice Poll we need to ensure that the least desired figure that we still DO WANT, gets made for sure. Dodonna may never again have a chance. Hasbro always knows it can sell aliens, and past Fans' Choice winners have all been aliens: Duro, Amanaman, Ephant Mon - or in the case of the sketchtrooper, a masked warrior.

Who knows if we'll ever get Derlin or Ozzel (I don't actually care THAT much, - so long as we get the Dignitary (or 2) and Rieeken)

So I don't want to lose out on my chance at getting the General from the Battle of Yavin now.

With Yarua on the poll and a Wookiee Jedi rumored for the 4-pack, Hasbro has finally seemed to realize that they can do Wookiees and they need not be the ump-teenth resculpt of Chewie to sell them.

Overall, I think this poll is more than a little :o , but there are some interesting possibilities.

If I could remember my username and password over at Hasbro's site, I would probably vote for Antilles. Dodonna is a possibility, but only if Hasbro guarantees that he is NOT made with that long, wrinkled coat. I've seen too many POTF2 Endor Hans costumized into Dodonna's, and I have never liked those giant plastic coats.

The wookie would be nice, but only if he is "naked" (no sashes, or bandoliers or accessories of any kind molded onto him).

I have no interest in the handmaiden or the podracer.

However, if all five of those figures were actually made and sitting on the pegs in front of me, I don't think I would buy any of them.

I'm very disappointed that Hermi Odle or Yarna didn't appear on this poll. It seems that if Hasbro is skittish about making the multi-breasted dancer, the safest thing to do would be to put her on the fan choice poll. And Hermi just needs to be made no matter what.

BespinLobot, this is probably the best example of charecters that should appear in "Fan Choice" pollls. Because pretty much only fans would care about them. Hasbro in the past have put choices would be new versions of vintage figures, cool aliens, and jedi charecters in the poll. Those should be made anyway.

Hasbro's stated time and again that aliens, droids, and such sell well. And they know that Jedi charecters sell well. But that boring old men and women don't. So those should be naturals for showing up in the polls. Because if they don't sell all that well, then obviously it's just the true fans that want most of them.

Charecters like Amanaman or Imperial Dignitary should never show up on the polls. Because they are figures that are remakes of ones that apperaed in the vintage line. Ephant Mon and such also shouldn't appear on the polls, cause he would have sold like hot cakes regardless of the poll. :)

Who knows? Hasbro Star Wars has come a long way since the POTF2 days, in some respects. Look at Ephant Mon, the CommTech Stormtrooper, FX-7, Bespin Chewie, Dagobah Vader. They do a good job when they really try.

Beast

Agreed. Heck, they even made the arms of the Endor Rebel Soldier removable so you can take the coat off easier. Hasbro does put some thought into the figures. Of course it's a moot point until he actually wins, and then we actually see the figure. :)

Well this make sense, Dodonna and Tarkin were the leaders in A new Hope, so a figure of them were needed, but we got Tarkin after 20 years !

I mean the aliens and Rabe are lousy choices, if they would've included Hermi Oddle, the story would've been other........

And speaking of leaders, nobody dreams of Mon Mothma-Crix Madine two-pack (new sculpt) with maybe the DSII holoprojector?, maybe thay can include half holo-projector in each figure ???

I myself voted for Rabe. It is the coolest looking figure there. Gen. Dodonna is second. The pod-racer looked stupid and if you are gonna make a wookie, make it different than Chewie with a bad hair day. Antilles was in the movie long enough to blink and miss him. I know Rabe will lose but it looked like the coolest figure there

Well that might be one of the reasons that the crappy Stormtrooper won in the last poll. I think the poll might check to see if a vote is comimg from the same IP #. If it is, that might be the reason the #'s never change. Who knows? So far I haven't voted for a winner, so what ever. I would have voted for Mon, but I was out of collecting at that time.

Man, please, for Chrissakes, DON'T DO THAT!!! (Even if you voted for Dodonna:) .) Multiple votes like that mess up the poll. It's a wonder H. hasn't just decided to scrap the Fan's Choice Polls because of all the problems they've had with people voting more than once.

Besides, it is most inconsiderate to those of us who abide by the rules and vote only once.

AAAAAH, just scrap the polls and make all of the damn figures regardless. This just shows what a crap system they have over there. It's either rigged and the votes are meaningless because Hasbro makes up the count which is how one time the totals added up to 101% or the system is full of holes allowing one person to flood the counts by voting multiple times. Either way it sucks for the real voters. So just do away with the polls and up the ante on the figures produced. Like I said earlier, the fact that people are voting means theres a market for all choices somewhere so make them all anyway. I'd probably be tempted into buying even a dumb Rabe figure rather than an Obi-yawn or Mangled Fett any time. Increase the choices in the stores and keep people interested rather than limit the choices to resculpts agogo and risk boring the consumer base to death or complete apathy.

Beast
01-06-2003, 08:57 AM
Jargo, when they convert to a percentage the totals are rounded off. That's why you get results like 99% and 101%, it's just a result of rounding things off. But a better system is needed for these polls, especially after all the cheating that went on with the Twi'Lek Masseuse and the SketchTrooper. :)

Well, I finally remembered my login info and voted, I picked Cpt. Antilles. I know he won't win, but I think he is cool enough that I would buy him. Gen. Dodonna would be my second choice, but I would have voted for him if they hadn't used that picture with the long coat. I would much prefer if they made him in the regular Rebel jacket (the one JarJar posted a picture of earlier).

Doesn't it seem kind of strange that there are only two movies represented in this current poll (ANH and TPM)?

Never did get on very well with mathematics. Artistic temperament and all that. probably skipped class when they did the laws of percentages or something. maths' is stranger than fiction sometimes  Still say make them all though. hate to be repetitive but c'mon, even saying the top three get made is better than just one out of the five. The two lowest get eliminated temporarily and the top three go forward for production. That way there's a chance that more people are pleased and get something from this. If you backed the loser every time it'd get pretty sick making to see something you don't want made each time. Just increase the scope guys.

I agree they should scrap the poll. They made figures of some of them eventually so my guess is they will all be made at some point. I have voted for Rabe myself each time but it didn't seem to matter. We don't even know if Hasbro has even produced any of these figures as of yet. They could be doing a poll for the goof and making us think our votes mean something. Who knows, who cares, we will probably buy it anyway no matter who wins(unless it is the pod racer. In my experience with doing online polls for years now, specificaly Star Wars online polls, these things are decided around the first 100 votes.

I am also experienced with statistics, and the sample size N=100 is fairly revealing with Star Wars.

There's little variation after that, and if a radical change in the poll numbers happened now, after I'm sure thousands have already voted, and Dodonna lost his lead, I'd suspect tampering with the poll.

If one or more of you try to vote multiple times with some trick or another, you'd literally have to spend half a day or more doing nothing but voting with different e-mail addresses which will barely affect a difference in the standings and wind up giving you more spam in your e-mail than you could possibly ever think existed.

Dodonna won. Yaay! It's not official yet, but I think this race is over!

Dodonna was ahead with 29% not 27% when Steve posted a news article about it this morning. I too want a Captain Antilles figure, but if after several weeks of voting, Antilles suddenly pulls ahead of Dodonna, the poll is rigged or hacked.

I'm sorry. I do polls for SSG. That's what I do hear. I am very experienced with the way the numbers come in, and generally you can spot a final pattern within the first several hundred votes. Those of you who participated, look back to the Battle of the Machines and remember how those polls went every Friday?

It sucks that Hasbro does not also show the numbers of registered votes, or even better, exactly how many voted for each character, but if they have 1 million votes now, and Antilles beats Dodonna, (he'd need 20,000 votes to get that 2%), that means that 20,000 Star Wars fans have not voted by now?????

I can't believe that. Dodonna won this or somebody is cheating at the polls, or Hasbro is all ready with an Antilles figure and now they have to alter their poll results to pretend it's justified as a fans' choice. Heck, if they have those kind of numbers in, they might as well just make them all... IF one million people have already voted - with the current numbers, they could sell 230 Thousand units of Yarua the Wookiee Senator figures right now!

(and I want the Wookiee and Anitilles, but I think Dodonna's chances wouldn't have been that great without this poll - and still not that great if he doesn't win - as he's the "boring old man figure" that we have to support if we ever want to complete Yavin Ceremony scenes, Rebel Command, etc.)

So you decide what to believe: Dodonna went down 2 percentage points since SirSteve made his news post this morning and some 20,000 people that never knew there was a Fans' Choice poll going on until today just voted this morning - or the poll's not being hacked or rigged....

This is garbage. Complete garbage!

Go learn something about math. It increases your intelligence people!

Tycho, it's possible that there is some funny business going on. But if there is, I'm gonna go with the fact that it's the same idiots that stuffed the ballot box the last times. Atleast with the Amanaman and Twi'lek Massuse, Hasbro did a manual recount. The same should have happened with the SketchTrooper, to remove the cheated votes.

But remember that 2 points isn't a huge change, if we see another over night 8 point change, then it's clear that there is cheating. Plus they are rounding the numbers off, either up or down depending on the results. So a 2 point change, doesn't mean much. Especially since the only other change, was Yarua going up a point. :)

Now using this thread and POSTS FROM PEOPLE RIGHT HERE, we have:

According to JarJarBinks on DECEMBER 23, 2002, at 8:13 pm:

General Jan Dodonna : 31 %
Captain Antilles : 23 %
Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 22 %
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 12 %

Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator): 21 %
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer): 12 %

Gen. Jan Dodonna: 31 %
Captain Antilles: 23 %

According to Corporal AMF on JANUARY 3, 2003 at 1:47pm:

Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 21 %
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 12 %
Rabé : 13 %
Gen. Jan Dodonna : 31 %
Captain Antilles : 23

According to KidHuman on JANUARY 6, 2003 at 3:24pm:

Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 21 %
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 12 %
Rabé : 13 %
Gen. Jan Dodonna : 30 %
Captain Antilles : 23 %

According to SirSteve on JANUARY 15, 2003 at sometime this morning from midnight up until 11:52 am:

Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 22 %
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 12 %
Rabé : 13 %
Gen. Jan Dodonna : 29 %
Captain Antilles : 25 %

According to BanthaPooDoo on January 15, 2003 at 11:52 am:

Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 23 %
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 12 %
Rabé : 13 %
Gen. Jan Dodonna : 27 %
Captain Antilles : 25 %

Remember if 1 million people voted, 1 percentage point equals 10 thousand votes!

If only 100, 000 people voted, 1 percent still amounts to 1,000 people voting only as of this morning.

By contrast, I posted this site's current poll for which playset you all want to see next up on January 13, 2003, at 5:13 pm and now after 48 hours we have 1023 votes total on a new poll that has been up 2 days on one SW fan site.

On Hasbro's official site, we have over 2000 votes in about 12 hours, on a poll that has been around since December 23 last year!

Don't tell me this isn't suspicious! If Dodonna loses, I just give up on these. Sure - all the figures offered give them a test market demand figure and if 1million voted, they can rest assured that even if Yarua loses this contest, it'd be worth making his figure because they could sell 230,000 units of it.

But watch what the voting means.

If only 1000 people voted than a 2% change between Steve's post and BanthaPooDoo's means that 200 people only just heard about this poll for the first time since December 23, and all of them learned of it in the last twelve hours. - and that's assuming (obviously erroniously) that more people vote on SirSteve's polls in 2 days, than on Hasbro's poll in 4 weeks.....right.)

Tycho, you are right on the money...this voting "chamber" is not working right. To let everyone know...I tried to see if I "registered" again if I could vote again...and it worked!!! I have voted for Dodonna twice now(not intentionally)!!!!!! What the heck?? If you register a different email I think you can vote again. That is not right. These polls SUCK!!!!!!

Well of course you can vote if you use a different email address. That is how this is based. It does not go by IP address, it's impossible to do that. Why?

Well, because unless you have an IP address assigned when you get online (which most ISP's dont do for dialup, DSL & Cable sometimes are an exception, but now its rare) then the polls cant operate that way. Also it would be to expensive to assign everyone on a domain a public IP (and you would run out of IP's if assigning a private IP). If it was ran by IP, then one day if I voted, the next guy that gets online wouldnt be able to vote cause that IP would have been logged. When you vote, you have a dynamic IP address, the next time you get online, it will be different. Your buddy may get online & get the same IP address you had yesterday, thats just the way it works. In a class C IP pool, there are 256 IPS (but 0 & 255 arent used) So you can have any range of IP's (192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.254)

The way the polls work is by cookies. When you login it sets a cookie on your computer, & if you try to go back & vote it looks at this cookie. You can setup another user name & password, & thats why it works..... there is no limit to the amount of cookies that can be created (just think of how many email addresses & usernames folks can come up with!)

Okay, thats enough of Internet IP 101....... :crazed:

Thank you. But what kind of loser sits home and makes up 40,000 different log-in schemes over a stupid action figure.

You're paying 4.99 to buy it, but you're not even getting one buck per hour for the time it takes to foul the vote up. Even if it's a lot of people voting 2-3-150 times, they may not all be voting for the same character, and finally, if they are - what kind of loser belongs to an organization of people that have that kind of time on their hands?

OK, if we could join one that would repeal the Sketchtrooper's victory and get out a decent figure of General Rieeken, I'd sign up. But I thought I was the only big loser with a desire to do that - and even I wouldn't have the time for such nonsense anyways...

Actualy, if i so desired i have multiple free e-mail accounts from various different ISP's I've used in the past, I could add at least ten votes just from my legit accounts. I'm just one person so if a whole college campus decided it was funny to stuff the ballot box (students do strange things for fun) and all the odd people out there also use spare accounts they've acrued through different ISP's then it's not hard to project large increases for any given choice. It would be extremely odd for the numbers to leap around as they have considering the math that has been done concerning this poll.

But i agree that it would be much simpler to work from polls here and rather than have a million and one replies below where we all argue about how something should or shouldn't get made we simply rely on numbers of votes cast. There's enough members here to do something simple with all the past fan's choice poll entrants as poll choices. No mess no fuss just votes. Then pass those tallies along to the people at H' and leave it at that. I know they want ridiculous numbers of requests to justify making something but if you took this site as a litmus for the collecting public they should be able to guesstimate global figures from percentages and the like. After all with all the stuff they churn out that we hate they must have guesstimated the consumer buying ratios for those products to get the production run numbers of product made for each item.

That's a messy paragraph i know but I'm tired and it's late. I think you get my drift. Whatever we say we want there's always dissent about how it should be made and what's better for the character and how it should be packeaged and marketed etc. leave all that alone and just say yes or no to a given choice on a poll. simple is best.

It's almost over. No I didn't wake up early on purpose to watch the Fans' Choice Poll, but I did wake up. It's about 4:15 am PST, which means this thing will be over in 45 minutes!

At present it is:

Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 25 %
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 13 %
Rabé : 12 %
Gen. Jan Dodonna : 25 %
Captain Antilles : 26 %

And I agree with tjovonovich that it is simply ridiculous to think that Dodonna received a majority of the opening votes, and then kept steadily losing ground only in the last few days. Now he would have to keep getting SOME votes for him to hold close to the others, but he started out being ahead by 32% I recall. Antilles really didn't budge much from his initial percentage - he just held fast as Yarua made huge gains since the Wookiee was at like 18% when this thing had been up for almost a month.

It seems like votes for the Wookiee are like votes for Ralph Nader and they have propelled Antilles over Dodonna.

I just went to the site ans that's what it says.

"Thousands of people voted in this poll and Captain Antilles edged out General Jan Dodonna by only 9 total votes! Since we had such a close finish, we have decided to go ahead and make both Captain Antilles AND General Dodonna. Both figures will have a late Spring 2004 target date. "

Rogue II

YES!!!!!

Here is the entire post they made. They even address the "Ballot Stuffing" issues...

Fans' Choice Poll #5 - The Winner Is...

The polls are closed, and the results are in. Once again, the voting came down to the wire. It was a "gripping" race - with no one figure having a "stranglehold" on the election. While no figures "choked", the winner of Fans' Choice Poll #5 is... Captain Antilles who has won by a "whisper".

Not surprisingly, there have been some rumblings about "ballot stuffing". While we did have some issues with earlier polls, the bugs in our system were fixed, and we have been watching the polls very closely to ensure that no improprieties occur. So, why the sudden shift in voting percentages last Wednesday? Well, as many of you know, we sent out a short reminder notice that the polls were closing soon. That spurred many people to log on and vote. Certainly, many members of our website also frequent the fan sites, who have been great about publicizing our poll. And, starwars.com mentioned the poll in their e-mail last week. The result was that the number of overall votes more than doubled.

Thousands of people voted in this poll and Captain Antilles edged out General Jan Dodonna by only 9 total votes! Since we had such a close finish, we have decided to go ahead and make both Captain Antilles AND General Dodonna. Both figures will have a late Spring 2004 target date.

We thank you for your participation in the voting and continued support for our toys.

Final Results Senator Yarua (Kashyyyk Senator) : 24.67 %
Ben Quadinaros (Pod Racer) : 12.68 %
Rabé : 11.60 %
Gen. Jan Dodonna : 25.50 %
Captain Antilles : 25.55 %

No, since Captain Colton Antilles didn't survive to get a medal after the Battle of Yavin, we'll award him "a sticker" post humonously! At least that puts him on par with Darth Vader who choked the life out of him: the Empire gave HIM a sticker at Toy Fair :p

But since I'm going to open 2 (two) General Jan Dodonna figures, for my Yavin Base diorama, and my Ceremony Scene, that is fine by me. He'll be too busy in command to be showing Han and Leia his sticker!

Meanwhile, after 4 years, and it'll be almost 5 by the time I get my Captain Antilles figure, my giant Rebel Blockade Runner I built will finally get a captain!

Perhaps Antilles will come with a Captain's Chair (eat your heart out James T. Kirk!) and Dodonna will be a deluxe figure with the Yavin Tactical Screen "Alert! Alert! Death Star approaching. Estimated time to firing range: 30 minutes!" - that's 5 years Hasbro Standard Time (HST) - except this time they did something great in only a matter of 30 minutes since that poll closed.

Sometimes, they really know how to please us!

Who cares if they use the same body sculpt, since they both pretty much are the same height and wear the same uniform other then a minor color variation in their rank badges and Dodonna's coat.

Is it a fleece that they did variant headsculpts on the Rebel Fleet Trooper and Imperial Officer? I thought you liked those figures, and were glad that they finally are coming out. Weren't you also the one that was willing to lay out cash for the Red Battle Droid.

How are those examples not fleecing you, and this is? We haven't even seen the sculpts yet, and you're complaining already. Seriously Jargo, sometimes you contradict yourself with your complaints. :)

I actually don't care whether they reuse the body or not. I was just typing a post with attitude to see what reactions it would get.

The freedom to change my mind on any subject is my right as a human being. If I contradict myself I do so knowingly. And yes I also think the head variants and the droid variants are a fleece. How could they not be? "Money for old rope" as my late Grandma used to say.

And I meant what I said about Hasbro only caring when collector's feelings are runing so high they're near to lynching 'THEM'.
Hasbro does not care, Hasbro is a company and that company exists purely and simply to make profits any way, any how.

Believe what you want to, I'll believe what I want to. If the beliefs are diametrically opposed so what. Neither of us is going to make one ounce of difference to the world so forget it already. You cannot have white without black and currently I'm all black. Live with it.

And that's really cool! We didn't have that kind of concern or contact with the toy company when I was a kid.

I was about 8 years old when I wrote a letter to Kenner in CRAYONS with a picture I drew of Captain Piett asking Kenner to make me a figure of him.

I got a gift certificate for a free figure of my choice from the manufacturer - I think I used it to get another stormtrooper (that has been a life-long typical behavior for me -hehehe) with a note thanking me for my interest in the line.

I am in my later 20's now and only got a figure of Captain Piett about 5 years ago. But it's only taking 5 years longer to get Captain Antilles, General Dodonna, and Kitik Keed Kak (who would have thought we'd get her?! That's too cool!)

So I'm quite pleased with the fact that Hasbro does read the major fan site forums, as disheartening as it must be to read all our complaints when they're trying to please both us, and predict what the kids want, too. A shared line is even harder to operate than a line done by McFarlane Toys and companies like that which cater mostly, almost exclusively, to adults.

Overall, Hasbro is doing a good job - though I don't think the kids want all the action features either. At least as I recall much of what I was like 20 years ago (as I still haven't matured) I don't think I'd have wanted them then either.

But if I'd seen the figures of today back then, I'd have bounced off the planet with how much I'd dig the realism in the sculpts, the accessories like lightsabers with removeable blades and attachable hilts, etc. etc.

So I'm glad they interact with us in this way, and stick with it no matter how hard it is to deal with a kid and adult markets, both at the same time.
