Hmm. That's a shame.:(

This is a bummer IMO. Hasbro's presence at Toy Fair has usually been a strong one, without them and McFarlane, Toy Fair may not survive for many more years.

Explains why they have been showing so much of their merchandise for next year online instead of holding it back for Toy Fair. It's not terrible news, but it will mean we don't have much to look forward to in Febuary for new pictures and info. :(

Not sure what is going on this year... McFarlane will not even be there this year.

Maybe they are trying to keep costs low for Marketing staff??

First they rehash figures and then cut out trips...trying to keep profit margins higher?

Bummer news.

I think its a very stupid idea not to go to toyfair this year. I mean, c'mon, with all the hype of the new figures (ROTJ LUKE/VADER ect.) how can they not go to toyfair? :(

i think it will just build more hype. people won't be nitpicking the toys before they come out for a change, meaning they;ll have to buy em before they can do that

That pretty much sucks. The toy industry is not doing well at all.

It's not that they arn't doing well, they just want to move away from the idea of having a Toy Fair. McFarlane is actually going to be setting up a retailer/press display in their main headquarters. It seems more of way to control the flow of info, and also not have to worry about shipping items back and forth to New York. If you'll recall, I believe the Arena playset was missing originally from Toy Fair 2002, because it was lost in shipping. And there are figures that get broken and occassionally even stolen during the toy fair as well. :)

This really sucks for me, my mom works for a company in Georgia and she's benig sent to ToyFair 2003 to cover something. She could've taken pictures, and swiped me some things.

I don't think this is all that terrible. We are still getting new product, and like fourtwo said collector's will have to wait to complain until they buy the figs.

I don't care much, I never could go anyways.
