I am looking for some software (free) that will allow me to compress my pictures, so that I can upload them to the collections feature on SSG. Anyone know of a free, easy way for me to do this?

Well, it's only a 30 day trial but, Paint Shop Pro (http://download.com.com/3000-2192-7057820.html?tag=lst-0-1) works very well.

Paint Shop Pro is pretty good if you don't mind the controls being a little on the "not user friendly" side and there being tons of controls you'll never have need for, but for $100 it's a worthy image editor and a 30-day free trial ain't shabby. It's not Photoshop - my image editor of choice - mind you, but it's also not the higher cost of that program either. :D

For something a little more modest both in the pocketbook and on the harddrive, I prefer Lview (http://www.lview.com) - though I haven't used the latest version. In fact, my favorite one is the geezerly Lview Pro v.1 because it's SO light (though it's a little wimpy on some compression issues... what do you expect for an 8-year-old program? ;))
