Please tell me more about these kind of ships. I asked the same question on rebelscum but had to ask it here because you may know more about them. Are they worth collecting? What about the details, features, mionifigs, comparing to the regular AF line? Which is better: Innerspace or Strike Force? Thanx

I don't have any Strike Force but that out of the two definitely seems the better way to go. The Innerspace tried to keep it at a small scale but that bombed out when they did the starships instead of just hanging around the small craft like Shuttles and such. Details from what I've seen are so-so, definitely no where near Galoob's AF for either line though. The mini-figs aren't bad from what I've seen, but the ones from the Innerspace craft weren't very compatible with other lines.

I only have the Innerspace Ent-D Shuttle so hopefully someone who's viewed the lines from more than just pictures will chime in, but if you were looking to collect'em I'd say go with whatever you want, but Strike Force is most likely the better of the two.

Strike Force are ships, figures packs and Innerspace are small playsets. The ships (Ent-D, Klingon BOP, Maquis Fighter, Ferengi D'Kora Marauder, Cardassian Galor cruiser) are cool, especially the Maquis (very cool little brother for my Playmates Voyager) and the Cardassian warship are my preferred in this serie.
The three other are (to my opinion) not my cup of tea. The proportions are not really accurate (they have to open themselves to fit the figures).
The quality is lower than the quality of the Galoob Action Fleet (low quality plastic and approximatly done paintjob and markings). The figures are also an imitation of the Galoob mini-figures with a lower details level. Each ship came with 2 figures.

There are also a few Battle Packs (...like Galoob, funny coincidence ) to collect : Klingon Warriors, Starfleet Away Team, Ferengi Commerce Team, etc...

And to finish the line, the Transforming Head playsets : Borg Head/Borg temple with 4 figures, Klingon Head/Klingon Great Hall with 4 figures.

The innerspace is a different collection, you should compare it to the StarWars MicroMachines. Small playsets or opening (super-deformed) vehicles with a playset inside : USS Hood, Galileo shuttle 1701/7, Cardassian ship, Klingon BOP, USS Stargazer, Romulan Warbird, Shuttlecraft Goddard, USS Defiant, USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D, Project Apollo Command & Service modules, Project Apollo Lunar Excursion, Borg Cube. Each set came with no less than 2 figures.

I agree completely with sicqnus's comments. Whoever said imitation is the sincerest form of flattery may have thought better of it had they seen Playmate's shoddy, half-as5ed attempts at copying the Galoob AF concept, with their Strike Force line of STNG vehicles.

I have boxed versions of them all, and openers of the Enterprise-D and Cardassian Warship. After opening those two, I'm in no hurry whatsoever to get any more to open. My Ent-D was packaged missing the entire lower-half of the main fuselage. The paint details are awful, and some of the detailing & graphics are done using horrible-quality decals.

The opening "cockpit" for both vehicles is an absolute absurdity.

Most likely, the "brain trust" that was responsible for Playmates Strike Force was hired en masse by Hasbro a few years ago, to run its newly-acquired Action Fleet series.

I am a huge fan of Trek and Action Fleet-style toys, but both Trek lines totally didn't do it for me. I especially dislike the Strike Force line for simply being pitiful in the details and badly "massaging" the original lines to accomodate cruddy gimmicks and pointless figure-seating areas.

At least the Innerspace line was straightforward about their manipulation of the lines and details to get a halfway-fun playset into these things.

Another VERY nice starship from AA.......

If you haven't bagged their NX-01 yet, then do so - they're fantastic.
