Joey Lauren Adams went to my high school in North Little Rock, albeit before I went there. That's about the extent of famous people we have from NLR.

in high school, i played football against guys who played for the baltimore colts, cincinatti bengals, houston oilers, baseball for the chicago cubs and oakland A's and basketball against a guy who played on the boston celtics. i like to think "letting" them whip up on me helped further their athletic careers. ;)

i tackled the guy who played for the colts, and he fell on me, and man that hurt! :crazed:

EDIT:

i just remembered i went to jr. high with a guy who briefly played on the kansas city chiefs and chicago bears.

I played football against Quincy Carter in high school. He looks like he will have a very short NFL career.

derek, how old are you? Didn't the Colts leave in '82 or '83?

Malakite, go ahead and bump this Lottery fella into the category with the local news anchors. :crazed:

edit: now I am thinking that the Colts drafted Elway in '83, so they must have moved to Indy in '84. :)

Yeah, bump the lottery hosting Pat Sajak clone and replace him with Ed O'Neil. Now there's a Ohio University man who deserves some respect.

Ed O'Neil added to the list. Woah Bundy!!

I think I'll keep Paul where he is though. Even though he isn't known nation wide, he is well known thoughout all Ohio, unlike the local anchors.

*Update*
Found a dozen or so more for the list. :D

There is a famous Calvin Klein model that went to the Indianola High School in the town that I live in now which is 20 miles from where I grew up at. I can't remember his name. Plasticfetish, Jedi Clint help me out here.
It was like Josh, Joel.......something.

I believe that Tom Arnold attended Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa where I went for a year.

My step cousin who lives near the city (I believe that is Waterloo)
has friends that know or knew Elijah Wood and/or his family.

I worked with a lady who knew Jon Bon Jovi's grandmother.

Well. . . I don't have too much to add. . . and I never looked into when I was getting my Bachelor's Degree but here is my short list:

Went to my High School:

Bruce Springsteen - graduated with my aunt, also attended the same two-year colege as I first attended.

Tim Perry - former NBA player, remeber seeing him in a dunk contest. . . wasn't impressed

Scott Conover - former offensive lineman for the Detroit Lions. . . when Barry Sanders was the greatest of all-time

Oh well. . . thats it. . . if I think of anymore I'll add them to the thread.

At Marshall University of recent sports fame we had Randy Moss who grew up very close to me (he should be shot...one of the most useless idiots I've ever known) and also Chad Pennington.

Natalie (1000 Maniacs) Merchant's mother supposedly attended my college, after her daughter was famous.

The inventor of some soft drink (Pepsi? Dr Pepper?) also did.

As did a producer from The Simpsons (I forget the name).

And a college classmate of mine had a speaking role in Serial Mom. Woo!
