I didnt know exactly where to put this, but I'm sure General Discussion will do:D

I was reading on TheJawa.Com that a rumor reported on one of those Entertainment Tonight-like shows said Star Wars and Indiana Jones were coming to DVD this year.I found a number of similar DVDs on eBay-all bootlegs or could some actually be real?

Yep, they're all bootlegs. Very beautiful though, I wonder if any of them have special features on them, I'd hope though that the actual release DVDs (if we ever get them) use the original artwork. :)

Yep. Bootlegs.

What someone has most likely done, is transfer the movies from VHS to VCD format, which will play on computers and most DVD players.

I have the top three. Dont buy em off ebay, its a ripoff ($80 my arse) If you want to get em cheap there are other sites on the net.

The ones I have are Laserdisc transfers with Dolby surround sound. Really excellent!!! And they are not the special editions, they are the originals which is what makes it even better.

Star Wars, probably not coming to DVD this year. George Lucas and Steven Spielburg are working on a DVD release of the first Indiana Jones movie though. One will be released every year, with the 3rd film being released around the time the 4th film hits theaters. There are official VCD's of the OT, but they are P&S. So not worth your time anyway. :)

I would say agree with the bootlegs. Save yourself money if you want them that bad just download and burn them yourself. The only thing it would cost is time.

I have SE on DVD from laserdisc i believe. It excellent.

Banthapoodoo- please drop me a PM and lemme know where y
ou got the OT from. I can't find it anywhere! If you would be so kind! :D

I've seen DVD versions of the films, copied from the SE Laserdiscs released in Asia. They are pretty good, in English, and are widescreen with Chinese subtitles in the lower black bar. But the English subtitles of alien languages are overlaid with Chinese so it makes it difficult if not impossible to read.

I have the special edition, but would love to get the OT though!!! Who knows when Lucas is going to release them on DVD?!?!?!? And if so, is he going to release the SE AND the Original Trilogy?!? What if he modifies the OT like has been rumored?!?!?!?! ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!! :D
