Was surprised to see this thread reinvented.

Belated Birthday wishes DeadEye!

........and yes, the age I gave early on in the thread was correct and I'll be 56 next month. I'm the female in the pic:) (http://toyforce.net/5023mikeanddeecropborder_5.jpg)

.....there's no reason YOU can't still love SW when you're this old either!!

Jedi Clint! and the Princess Bride...GREAT movie!:)

Was it that really fine dirt the defies shovels and brushes and you have to hose it down before you can touch it? I hate that kind of dirt. Gets in your lungs.... :( brick dust is the worst kind of dust next to the kind of dust you get in a potters workshop. clay and toxic glazes. You don't ever attempt to clean round a potters workshop....... :dead:

It was a blast ;) There wasn't any of the really fine stuff in yesterday's batch, but when I removed the bricks from the "pit" last Sunday many of them broke and it left a decent amount of the red powder you are referring to. I plan on taking progress pictures tomorrow when the sun is shining through the blue tarp protecting the exposed basement and loose dirt from moisture and rain (it gives the basement an eerie blue hue....I think it's cool). If you are interested, I can post them after I get them transferred onto the pc.

Indeed it is r2dee2! Was that picture taken recently? If so, then it's obvious that you aren't even close to 56. You look far too young :).

I thought I'd chimed in on this one before. But after looking through the whole thread, I guess I missed it.

Well, I am 33 years old. I was born in 1968, and saw "Star Wars" it wasn't called ANH then, in the theaters. I started collecting SW stuff, not just the toys, but anything and everything SW back then. I lost most of my vintage goodies through hand me downs to younger brothers and cousins, when I went through the "I'm too grown up and cool to have these toys anymore" phase when I was in highschool. :(

I got back into collecting, now mostly figures mind you, back in the mid 90's.

I have a lovely wife who puts up with my addiction/hobby and a daughter who just turned 5 yesterday. My daughter is my biggest and best SW buddy these days. She's the only one I can get to watch the movies with me time and time again. ;)

I know who's about to turn into their fourth decade....and it ain't me!

In fact, The Emperor should be celebrating already in his time zone. (It's less than three hours away for me as I post this.)

I'll hide here and warm up to sing "Happy Birthday", then pop into the other thread at the appropriate time....:D

From a few pages into the thread-

I'm 14 but I'll be 15 in... 4 days. (The 6th.) :crazed:

and... I'm now 21. Should I be shaking my head in shame or be proud that I was on here through almost my entire teen era?

"Put's up with" has always struck me as a contradition in terms

Being 5 years old, does your daughter like Jar Jar? Or is he a waste of effort, even on a toddler, as far as she's concerned?

Well, seeing as his daughter is now about 11 I'm sure she hates him as much as most SW fans do.

Welcome to the great world of thread digging where you have to look at dates. It's fun to do too!!!

I happen to know that at least one person who signed up for SSG is under 13. That doesn't mean we should treat the youngsters any different though, on the forums, we're all just the sum of our typed statements.
Aw, shucks!

If you can all add, you'll know that I'm now 18. It's weird looking back at this thread and realizing that I'm now as old or older than a lot of those older forumites were back in the day.

I can tell you that I really don't feel any older than I did when I typed that a million years ago. But 26 to 32 is not the same as your 12 to 18 transformation, does that feel different?

Don't be too proud of this nascent technicality you've concocted. The ability to share a birthday with JediTricks is insignificant next to the power of sharing a birthday with mabudonicus!

Does my age change feel different? Dunno, it's not like I woke up one day and had aged six years. But thinking back, it's of course been a big difference. A lot of crazy crap has happened since then. Mostly good, I guess. :D

Let's see: mabs said he was born at 4:20. So if that's AM, I'm two hours, thirty-nine minutes older than he is (plus a whooooooole lot of years!).

If it's 4:20 PM, then I'm fifteen hours, thirty-nine minutes older that he is (plus a whooooooole lot of years!).

Three years older than the last time anyone posted in this thread.....

I first posted in this thread 10 years ago. The idea that we have threads from that long ago is almost unfathomable. This is a Star Wars collecting board, and yet that's a significant portion of a lifetime right there, a decade. And the funny thing for me is that I feel largely the same as I did then.

TeeEye7

We have become quite the family! We've seen each other grow up, marry, have kids, graduate from high school or college, enter the military. We've seen new members enter the ranks and, unfortunately we've seen members pass on. We've shared in our collective adventures together and we've been supportive when life deals us a bad hand. I'm quite proud to be a member of this little group!

I agree with you JT. I, too, don't feel I've changed much since I found SSG over a decade ago.

Thanks Sir Steve for making this happen!

I aged a lot in the last some 5-6 years. In fact, I took a hiatus from the online world during that time. Hung upside down on the side of the freeway in my totalled automobile... nowhere near as fun as that sounds. ;) Somedays, I feel REALLY like I'm 98... then, others days I'd only be 88 or so. :p Yesterday was an 88; :D today's turned into a 98. :(
