FINALLY! After all my tries, sw.com actually chose one of my "Communication Disruption" photo captions...

http://www.starwars.com/community/captions/2003/01/captions20030128.html
The Empire's newest weapon: The TIE Drummer. (Bel-Cam Jos)

Hooray! :D

Anyone else get theirs chosen?

Funny stuff!

They'd NEVER choose one that I wrote....;) :D

Nice one Bel-Cam Jos :)! I'd given up writing on them because they never chose mine :(. I might give it another try though.

I think my chosen username might disuade them from using mine. KentuckyfriedAnakin might not go down too well... :D

Yess, gaining the people's fame and adoration forever, for sure...
I've never seen that before, looks like mabudon's got some satire to write now.......
Congrats, Bel-Cam!!!!

Sweet! You have reached a goal that I gave up on long ago. I guess this revises my opinion of sw.com's sense of humor. :D

Bel-Cam Jos
01-30-2003, 07:40 PM
There was one SSGer who used the same user name at sw.com who also got theirs chosen; can't recall who right now.

p.s. I didn't think this was the best one I'd submitted, so don't withhold your opinions of the site yet! ;)

p.p.s. I decided to test my world fame, and apparently I am not so creative as I thought. Belcam is the name of a horse breeding company, as this search turned up: Not the same Bel-Cam (http://www.belcaminternational.com/stud/index.php) :(

I hate to say this though, but the one right beneath BCJ's is the one that made me laugh the hardest.

Okay, not to diminish the glory, but what's up with this week's captions (http://www.starwars.com/community/captions/2003/02/captions20030211.html)?

And can you honestly tell me mine's not funny enough to be on there?
"Okay, we'll add the rancor in later. For now, just pretend I'm a big hungry lizard. Roar! Roar!!"

I need a hug. :(

Yeah, sorry about yer luck, I guess they were trying to get a bit more serious with this week's captions and didn't wanna blow the theme with a funny one BCJ:D
There'll be other pictures, with other captions even more humorous than those that have gone before, and you'll be there, man..... sorry, I'm not in a hugging mood, so here's some consolation horns for ya!!!

Mine for last week was something like "I told you that 'Slime Club for Hutts' stuff was a bad idea." Now that's comedy! ;) Oh well. At least I got my 15 KG of fame...

awesome!

so, since you need to be a member of "hyperspace" to do the captions, i say we start doing our own captions to the pics, but here at SSG...

hmmmmmmm....

(goes off into the "other" category, as that's bound to be the destination for such a thread if posted anywhere else, anyway...)

Alright Bel-Cam this is probably the point where you need to make a Cartman quote from the South Park movie where he announces to everyone he saw the Terrence and Phillip movie.:D

Well, I'm not a Hyperspace member, and it has accepted all my captions for the last few weeks that HS has been in effect, so I don't think you need to pay for that. I like your idea about the SSG Captions, darthvyn; would be perfect for the Misc: Other section, I think.

Since I haven't seen SP:B,L, & U, I'll just make up a quote. "Online Geek Beaten to Pulp By Emoticons; Name 'Smell-Cat Nose' Painted on Victim." :crazed:

yeah, i was wrong about that... the "sign in" screen confused me - it seemed to me like it was either sign in to hyperspace, or sign up for hyperspace...

but i like it here better, cuz we can all get in on the act, and see all our quotes! :D

bobafrett
10-17-2003, 01:14 AM
Do you win a prize for having the best quote? I mean besides having your screen name on the official website. BTW, I'm on page 9 of the Bantha Tracks with the most recent Star Wars insider. I'm in a very bad pixelated picture right above Mary Franklins letter in the upper right hand corner. I'm the Tusken along with several other 501st and Rebel Legion members taking Mary prisoner. We were working the breakfast with Warrick Davis that morning at Wizard World. That's my 2 seconds of fame!

I guess I can no longer complain at all. This makes it three, and again, what they choose over what they skip is baffling. Mine from this week's is awful, which is apparently what sw.com is looking for.

What I said (paraphrasing) was something like "An officer looks away in horror as yet another world falls before a super weapon of the ILMpire." See? Hy-larious! :D

I also like mine for this week, but they probably won't...

Geez, I didn't realize they were still running this, I thought it disappeared, sucked into the black hole that is the Hyperspace site.

Here's what I entered for this week's:

Suspect Solo, having been pulled over for reckless flying, prepares to take a sobriety test.
-

"Do these pants make me look scruffy?"
-

"Chewie, I'm tellin' ya, from the back, when I'm holding my blaster, my arm IS longer!"

Bel-Cam Jos

Well, I got my Christmas present early this year; once again, my caption got selected for this week! That makes four... sort of (see below).
Bel-Cam... winner? (http://www.starwars.com/community/captions/2004/12/captions20041221.html)
However, apparently there's a Bel-Caam Jos clone out there, as I was given credit for a caption I did not submit (sounds like The A-Team). Mine would never include the word "freakin," so determine which one is really mine.

Arrogant Arse
12-21-2004, 04:03 PM
Congrats:confused: :D BCJ. I enter this every week, and My caption usually doesn't get selected, but it was, once. http://www.starwars.com/community/captions/2003/11/captions20031111.html
I'm Vernon, Sith Dog.

I wish they would pick more than 7 captions. There has got to be more than 7 funny entries, but based on what they pick, I wonder about their sense of humor. I guess if it is deemed to be insulting then it is skipped. Don't wanna insult Georgie-boy now do we? The week I won they picked 10 captions. I have entered things that were similar to the title of the caption, but gotten no credit. oh well

It is lame I know, but it is something to do.:stupid:

Anyway congrats BCJ, you are a role model for us all.:crazed:

MICKEY: It's a lightsaber, Mister Lucas.
GEORGE: Ohh, a laser sword!
MICKEY: No, a lightsaber. "Light...saber"
GEORGE: "La...zer...sword"

Perhaps, I have sad news. The "new look" sw.com seems to have no "Communications Disruption" photo caption feature, and when using their "Search" option, it gets you "page not found" errors, or just comments from their forums.
