View Full Version : Alias Star Jennifer Garner is married to a goofball!?

Is anyone aware that Alias star and new super hero hottie Jennifer Garner is married to a goofball? Her husban is new NBC sitcom star Scott Foley.

It's not like I'm upset that she's married. It just doesn't make any sense to me. I just don't understand, and that sort of thing drives me nuts :crazed: :crazed: :crazed:

I suppose that this gives hope to all goofy not so good looking guys out there.

It gives us guys who are goofy looking hope that we'll strike gold someday. :D

i think they both met when they were on "felicity". i've never seen any of the guy's work, but he looks normal to me. not dorky, but surely no brad pitt or george clooney.

and keep in mind when they met and married, garner wasn't the star she is now. if she were single today, she'd have much better stock to choose from.:)

Yeah, they met on Felicity. His wife seemed to be all that guy talked about when he was on Conan's show last week.

02-19-2003, 01:59 PM
I mean, would it really be better if she was doing the horizontal mambo with underwear models????

02-19-2003, 02:46 PM
No it wouldn't be better. As I've said I don't care who she married to, to me it just dosn't make any sense. An underwear model would make much more sense.

Perhaps I should apploud her for marrying someone who she likes unstead of for looks. Wich seems to happen alot in Hollywood. Plus, I'm sure she's got that guy wrapped tightly around her little finger. That seems clear with Foleys interview with Conan.

I guess I'd be all gaga over her to if I was married to her. I can see that guy just jumping up and down and shouting "I'M MARRIED TO A REAL HOT CHICK!!!!" About ten times a day :D.

02-19-2003, 11:53 PM
when I saw Garner on Conan's show recently, she too was "gaga" over her husband.

It all comes down to taste, I'm sure you'd find PLENTY of people who find that guy attractive, just as there are many people who don't think that much about Garner's looks. I personally think she's gorgeous, but even in the local DareDevil thread there are opinions that she isn't that attractive.

02-20-2003, 12:30 AM
Yeah, I mean, if Jennifer Garner was the worst catch I made, my life would be great.

However, I don't think she even comes close to the top 100.

02-20-2003, 01:37 AM
I love Jennifer Garner. And one day, I'm going to marry her.

yea, keep in mind, it's not like she's married to david spade or rob schneider!:crazed:

I never thought she was a mega hottie, she's cute in a girl-next-door sort of way but no Helen of Troy. She's a talented actress though.

Scott Foley, on the other hand, is a bland sponge -- opinion based solely upon the NBC show "A.U.S.A." in which he stars and exec produces his character, his roommate, his paralegal, and the girl he has a crush on are all incredibly unfunny in this mid-season replacement; the writing wishes it was a cross between Barney Miller and Scrubs but it comes off more as a standard hackey bland sitcom.

Hard to believe Garner is both pushing 30 and married.

I'm with you about AUSA. Pretty lame. I've watched the last few episodes, and it's pretty bad. I heard a commercial that said it was a cross between Night Court and Cheers. That comment was funnier than the whole show. I don't think this one will make it on air next season. But what do I know, I thought Good Morning Miami wouldn't make it past October :(. I usally can tell when a show will get cancelled, but I guess I missed that one.

Jennifer Garner is a bit of a loon. If you saw her on SNL you probally noticed this. She played a couple of wacked out characters and it seemed way to easy for her to do. Sure, she's a good actress but not that good. Seemed to me that crazy wasn't to much of a stretch for her :D. So, that kind of wackyness is probally why she likes that Foley guy. I mean he looks wacko too.

Hey what do I know. It's not like I'm a match maker for the stars. I think Ben Aflack and J-Lo look strange together too.

Has all of Hollywood gone mad :crazed: :crazed: ?

Alflak & J-Lo DO look strange together.

I too thought Good Morning Miami would be canned, and yet here it is.... till this April I bet. The "big turning point" is coming next week according to ads and it looks like another 'couldn't care less' episode. I bet when the ratings are added up for NBC, they'll simply kick GMM to Tuesday by the end of this season and let it die a quick, horrible death there. Poor, poor Hidden Hills, the only new sitcom I can think of from this season worth ANYTHING and it's already toast.

I missed Garner on SNL as I try to miss SNL in general these days. Sorry to hear she can't change gears properly, but there's been plenty of room for one-trick-ponies in the entertainment biz.

Much anger I sense in this one.

Hidden Hills Ins't quite toast yet. I read one blurg on a site (but I cannot remember wich one) that NBC picked it up for more episodes. I cannot confim this as NBC.com is very useless. Little more than a TV Guide. The site where I got the info said that In-Laws got canned, and on NBC.com they are not listed in the current shows and they web page has been all but deleated. Where as Hidden Hills is listed and thier web page is up and running. I still can't find any info on when and what time it will be airing, but this is good news. I also read that NBC also picked up more episodes of Watching Elle wich was a shocker to me as it's been gone for what seems like a year now. Anyway, now that sweeps is over perhaps we'll get a little bit more stable NBC, and they'll show the shows that are actually funny instead of ones that may get rateings. But what do I know, I've only been a loyal view the early days of Cosby, Night Cout, and Cheers :). I've sceen them come and go, and can normally pick out the winners. That's why I was so distraught when HH went away for a while. I felt like Bullseye, "I never miss".

02-24-2003, 07:31 PM
I'd be really surprised if HH came back, NBC has treated it so badly. What I don't get is why Good Morning Miami gets the royal "Must See Thursday" treatment when it's just as new as HH, has pretty much the same number of cast members, and just as weak a title and opening credits. Hell, the only thing GMM has over HH is a live studio audience, HH uses locations instead of sets and actual funny writing instead of padding laugh tracks.

Here's hoping it comes back anyway though, this show could easily have been this season's "Scrubs".

As for Watching Elle, if that comes back, I can pretty much guarantee a major retread there. That show was way too high-concept for current NBC sitcom audiences IMO.

BTW, did anybody watch Alias last night? I couldn't believe how bad they made Jennifer Garner look during her interrogation scenes. She looked like one of us common lowlife "normal people". :D

02-25-2003, 12:31 AM
Wow JT, you must be pretty hot if you look ANYTHING like Jennifer Garner! :crazed:

no, I uh . . . didn't watch it last night. :)

02-25-2003, 08:50 AM
Jeditricks, you and I certainly agree when it comes to NBC sitcoms. I am as baffled as you when it comes to GMM. Unfortunetly we don't make the calls.

Again, I've looked for info on HH and came up with very little. I'm holding on to the one blurb I read and the fact that's it's still listed on NBC.com (where as In-Laws is not  ). Aparently Boomtown is returning in March, so perhaps that's when NBC will re-vamp thier lineup. They have to fit in Just Shoot Me too, wich is a whole other ball of wax.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Yea, I think Watching Elle was way to high concept for any sitcom audience. Funny how the first episode was basically Elain in her bra for 22 minutes. Not a bad show as I remember :D.

icatch9, interesting investigational work on that, but darn you for giving me an inkling of hope that NBC won't do the wrong thing here. ;) If it makes a comeback in March, that'll be just in time for pre-sweeps so NBC can prove to the producers that if the network buries a show enough, not even sweeps can get an audience. It's psychotic thinking, but I believe it's not a prerequisite that you have to work as a scheduling exec for a TV network, you have to have a degree in communications, a few semesters of sociology, and a number of anti-psychotic medications for your underlying schizophrenia that you can stop taking whenever quality programming accidentally crosses your desk. :D

I can't imagine where they're gonna put Just Shoot Me, it's already bombed out as a Thursday show and multiple Tuesday timeslots... maybe they'll air it as the 2nd half of Dateline Monday. ;)

02-27-2003, 08:08 AM
I'm sorry I gave you hope. I'll remember that you are much happier in a pesimistic world :D. I have hope that it will show up sometime. So, I'll hope for both of us :).

I don't know why Just Shoot Me bombed. I think it's funny. This is the shows 7th year on TV. I can't imagine NBC yanking a show that's been on air so long without a final send off. They could, but they shouldn't. I can see the show comeing to an end, but not like this :(.

I don't know about pre-sweeps. Perhaps Hidden Hills will come back in the summer. Kind of like that show with that little blond opera chick. You know that girl who was Frasiers new Agent. Anyway, her show had a summer run and it sucked. Perhaps Hidden Hills with get a second chance in the summer and do better. After all Sienfeld had a summer turn around and it did alright after that :D.

NBC is going to need to do something. Friends isn't going to be on forever. Will and Grace can't carry the network alone. Scrubs is funny, and I love it, but I don't see it carrying on the tradition that Cheers, Seinfeld, and Friends have set forth. When Friends does end, NBC will have to scramble to keep thier Thursday night Kingdome intact.

02-28-2003, 04:16 PM
I think Just Shoot Me fell on too much network meddling. Adding a new main character into the mix was the final straw to the show's woes (most due to NBC sched-shifting it almost weekly).

Friends has 1 year left, then it's gone. There's no way AUSA could ever fill that gap if it stays the way it is, Scott Foley just doesn't have a great show there IMO. As for the others, we'll see but I bet it'll be the same and Thursday will go back to being up for grabs.

This just in: Jennifer Garner and Scott Foley have called it quits.

Apparantly she woke up one morning and realized that she was Jennifer Garner and she was married to Scott Foley.

Yeah, I heard about it on Howard Stern this morning, too.

This is from scifi.com:

Alias star Jennifer Garner and her actor husband Scott Foley have "mutually decided to separate," a representative confirmed to TV Guide Online. The duo met on Felicity in 1998 and wed in October 2000.

Let the stalking begin!

Still can't believe AUSA is still on the air...

04-09-2003, 12:31 PM
Thanks for that bit of gossip. She probally realized that she can get a much more hotter and succesful man as her suiter. I hate to see marages break up, but this just never looked right to me.

AUSA isn't exactly on air right now. I don't think it's been canceled, but on NBC.com it says "an upcomeing episode has yet been scheduled". That means they still have the show, but don't plan on showing it for a while. I imagine it will be back on in the summer  .

Just shoot me is returning in two weeks with back to back new episodes. I'm glad to see this show back on as I really like the show and David Spade.

Watching Ellie is on next week and again the following Tuesday. The shows format has changed a bit so it may be funny. I didn't mind it befor, but realized that it wouldn't last. It was differnt and not exactly funny. Have to wait and see if it's "live studio audience" does anything for it. I hope it does well just so there is a chance of seeing Sienfeld as a gust star :D. I mean, she's a lounge singer, he's a comidian. It's a perfect match and the episode almost rights itself.
