Well, today finally brought us pictures of Padmé: Wedding Gown. She looks pretty good, but of course is one of her less exciting outfit, since it's just from the Wedding. But it's time that Hasbro starts tapping the vault of Padmé's costumes that haven't yet been produced. Instead of a ton of Maul's and Jango's. :)

Atleast 2 Padmé's a year would be a good start. Since we have over a dozen that still haven't been done from E1 and E2. And we have E3 coming up, which will probably add another 8-10 outfits. 2 outfits a year from now thru 2018 is a perfect example of how they can stretch the line out that long. :)

The Phantom Menace:
1. Padme Naberrie: Queen's Handmaiden
2. Queen Amidala: Senator Palpatine's Office
3. Queen Amidala: Post-Senate
4. Queen Amidala: Return to Naboo
5. Queen Amidala: Naboo Celebration

Attack of the Clones:
1. Padmé Amidala: Senate "Vampire" Outfit - (Deleted Scene)
2. Padmé Amidala: Senator Outfit
3. Padmé Amidala: Packing For Naboo Outfit
4. Padmé Amidala: Nightgown w/ Robe
5. Padmé Amidala: Outland Peasent Disguise
6. Padmé Amidala: Blue "Homecoming" Outift - (Deleted Scene)
7. Padmé Amidala: Naboo Lake Retreat Outfit
8. Padmé Amidala: Naboo Picnic Outfit
9. Padmé Amidala: Black "Temptataion" Outfit
10. Padmé Amidala: Tatooine Arrival w/ Cloak
11. Padmé Amidala: Tatooine Blue Poncho Dress
12. Padmé Amidala: Geonosian Arena Outfit (Torn Resculpt)

The Tatooine Arrival Outfit is appearing on the newer retailer lists, w/ cloak. So that pretty much means we should get the bare belly outfit that's shown in the following picture along with the leopard print arrival cloak. But I included it on the list, as it hasn't been confirmed yet, and anything could happen.

Padmé's Tatooine Outfits (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/forums/attachment.php?s=&postid=203084)

I think the names I gave them are all pretty clear which outfit is which. But if anyone wants pics, I'll do my best to work up somthing like the above image. Or feel free to do it yourself. But it's about time that Padmé started getting as much attention as Leia has over the last few years. :)

I know the nightgown outfit could meet some problems, due to the fact it's a female figure in a nightgown. But they could easily make it an exclusive. When this came up before, I suggested that they be fair to both sexes. Include nightgown Padme w/ soft goods robe and shirtless Anakin w/ soft goods baggy shirt from Anakin's nightmare and the following balcony scene. :)

Seriously. She's one of the main characters of the saga, and definitely has more resculpt possibilities than anyone else. Just don't produce her in quite the same huge quantities as the (perfect except for the gimmick) Pilot Padm&eacute, so they don't pegwarm and preclude any further Padm&eacute sculpts. :)

The white outfit in the middle of the picture would make a great figure. It reminds me of Leia's white outfit, which always sells well. Bring on this Padme!!

Well, like I said....if the retailer lists hold true she's on the way. Supposedly with the "leopard" looking cloak that the first picture shows. Since if you look between the seem in the center of the cloak, you can see she's wearing the belly outfit from pic 2. As for the color, from the pictures of it most are saying it's a very very very soft blueish white. :)

Bring them all on. Padme is an important person. She needs the ateention that some other characters are getting. They are many many outfits still unmade. Hopefully we can get them soon.

I would definitly like some more Padme's, especially the tatooine belly outfit (hopefully it will be realeased this year), the black "temptation" outfit and a arena torn resculpt, cause that's a very important scene in the movie too (and I want one for my arena) and the first figure was just, well you know...

You have to realize that the reason why Padme doesn't get made is because she's a girl. It's no secret that more boys buy these toys than girls. On average boys don't like toys of girls, important character or not. Plus, these other outfits you mention, they are not exactly action packed outfits. She wears them very little, and doesn't do any fighting in them. We've gotten her main action outfits (Pilot, Droid Factory) and they haven't exactly been flying off the shelves.

Collectors want one of every character in every outfit ever. That's fine, but unrealistic. Hasbro has to make choices and they have done a good job of that from a business point of view. They know that they will sell more Jangos than Padmes. That's why we get so many Jangos.

A kid walks into the store and sees a group of figs, who's he going to buy? The Jango with flamethrower and rocket pack or Padme in leopard skin cloak? I don't think there is much of a competition there. Remember Hasbro is trying to run a business and you don't make a lot of money promoting figs or girls who don't do anything and have zero play value.

The reason why Padme pegwarms is they pack more of her in a case than others. If they evened out the distribution there wouldn't be as many on the racks. What about the collectors? They want them for their collection. I understand kids buy them but so do alot of adults. We make up an important percentage of the money making as well. There would be no money lost on them making them.

I don't know why some people keep repeating that we " never" get any padme's, we had 2 last year (Arena Escape and Pilot), 1 this year already (factory chase) and now the new one is announced and will be released in a couple of months, and there is another one on the retailers list, so that's 4 in total and maybe a fifth coming
so in a span of 1 year there are 4 padme's released, that's not bad IMO, it would even be good of hasbro kept continuing that

Funny, being a girl didn't hurt her for E1. Because Hasbro knows there are collector's also. That's why we got almost all of Padmé's E1 gowns in the E1 line and the POTJ. And they were wonderful figures that sold pretty well. Especially the wonderful POTJ versions of her. Her Red throne room one, and the black travel gown were excellent well received figures. Regardless of being a girl figure. That's what C2 is for, because they can pretty much put any figure out there, cause collectors want stuff like that.

Wanting every charecter in every outfit is far from unrealistic. We have until 2018, and the line could survive on Padmé's alone. I disagree that Jango would sell better then Padmé, especially if he's not very different then the last version that came out. In the case of Padmé, all of her outfits are vastly different.

Yes, Padmé is going to have less kid appeal. But that's why they have collection 1. Main charecters and more kid friendly secondary ones. Collection 2 is for us, the ones that basically would buy just about anything Hasbro released. Obviously Padmé sells well, or they wouldn't be doing so many versions of her. But they shouldn't stop now.

The vintage line basically ignored Leia, because that was a different time. The majority of the collectors then were young boys that didn't really care for all of Leia's outfits. But this is a whole new era for Star Wars. Sure, the kids are still a large section of the collecting community, but Hasbro knows they have to please both kids and older collectors for the line to survive. :)

So lastly to wrap this up, if Padmé didn't sell, you would see Hasbro be more conservitive with what outfits they choose to make. But they know from the E1 and POTJ lines that even less intresting Padmé outfits will sell like hotcakes. They just need to salt them in every so often, to keep them from being a majority of the line.

That's all we're asking for. We have 15-17 Padmé figures that have yet to be made. And with probably another 8-10 outfits being added when E3 rolls around. So Hasbro would be wise to run with atleast 2-3 Padmé's a year to help stretch the license out from now to 2018. The same thing can be done with Imperials, Jedi's, and other charecters that still have a large potential. :)

In addition to the 4" line, I'd also love to see a return of that Deluxe line they had going with Episode I. While those were really great, the outfits in AOTC really outdid those originals, particularly that flowy orangish dress on Naboo.

If I'm not mistaken, they probably stopped making these because they didn't sell well. To fix that I'd simply suggest that they A) lower the price to something more reasonable and B)release them so that we can actually find them without a major hassle. Honestly, most of the "they didn't sell" problems are a result of Hasbro's own poor pricing and distribution strategies and not of lack of consumer interest.

Clearly Hasbro got burnt on those deluxe Padme and Queen figs/dolls. I can still find some of them. Doesn't matter whose fault it was, they still lost their butts on them. So, I wouldn't expect a line of those any time soon.

I think Padme it getting represented nicely this year. She's getting just as many as Anakin.

Collectors still have a hard time believing that we are the minority in this hobby. I realize we buy a lot, but no one has ever scene numbers. We assume we are the majority, but we don't know. Even if we are, don't forget who's running the show. Hasbro. They are big, bad, and corporate. They do everything by the numbers. Numbers meaning what will sell the most to their key demographic. Which is believe it or not toy buying boys, not collectors.

I think its naive to think other wise. After all they are after the all mighty dollar. They do everything based on percentages.

The POTJ Padme/Queens where really good, but they were leftovers from TPM toys. They where designed and what not when they thought Padme would sell. When they realized that she was selling poorly they cut her production. Seeing that it's more cost efficient to produce these figs than scarp them, we got them in the POTJ line. A line that had smaller production runs that TPM figs.

All in all, I think we will get some more Padme's, but how many do you want in one year. It's enough this year and like it's been said, they have until 2018 to make the rest.

Here's a link to a site with some great images of the various Padmé costumes from both E1 and E2. They don't have one up of her "Orange Flame" Handmaiden dress though, unfortunatly. :(

Whoa. It must have taken you a very long time to locate pics of every single Padme costume. Thanks for the info, I have decided my favorite is still Padme in "Tatooine arrival" costume with removable leopard cloak. The morning "nightgown" with robe comes second, only because she looks so sexy in it. :crazed: Hubba! Hubba! Mmmmmmmmmm..... pad..me (Homer Simpson style) :crazed:

In other Padme news, I was looking at my Pilot Padme yesterday and thought what a wonderful head it is to go with the new droid factory body. Does anybody plan to do this head-swap? I think it will be a wonderful combination. And when someone does this, please post pictures. Thanks.

Pilot head + Droid factory chase body = Perfect Padme

Not really, finding a site that had all of them was the difficult thing. That was the most complete one that I could find. No clue why they don't have her Handmaiden dress though. As for my favorites from E2, I like #2 and #10 the best. :)

The Pilot head isn't bad, but the hair is incorrect. She has that bun type thing on the back of her head when she's wearing the white Geonosian outfit. I've seen a pic using the Padme: Arena head, and it doesn't look to bad. Lemme attach. :)

Hey, already that looks much better than wide-mouth-head. But if she had the facial expression that was on the pilot figure, then it might look pretty cool (of course, you're right, the hair doesn't match the scene).

Thanks Hasbro, now that AOTC's #10 has been taken care of, you just need to get cracking on all the rest of these that are left to make. With the line extention to 2018, it can't be that hard to deliver us 2-3 Padme's a year, to make sure all her costumes get done. :)

Just a quick post to update that Hasbro has finally decided to produce one of the few remaining E1 Padme figures. And Queen Amidala: Naboo Celebration Gown looks beautiful. But come on Hasbrom you guys still have quite a few more that need to be done, especially from E2. But we have many years before the license expires. :)
