Well, I caved. I have decided to start collecting the Unleashed figures, and it's all Padme's fault. I came across her at a comic shop for $9.99, which was 5 bucks cheaper than Mace and Dooku. Anyway, after seeing this "figure" I just couldn't resist. So now I must have all the others as well. Can anyone recommend of a place where I can get them at retail or cheaper?:)

Did you try TRU, WM or KB? They have them here in Southern CA. I might score the new Leia and Vader tomorrow, wish me luck.

Yeah, try your Wally worlds, they're all on clearance. I know my TRU had a bunch of them too. :D

P.S.- May the force be with you, Turbo wars!

Thanks turbo, but all that's near me is a WM, and they are completely out of every Star Wars toy. Everything else is about 40 miles away. I may have to take a trip up north and check out TRU or Amazon.

I got my Darth Maul at Target for like 3 or 4 bucks. Try the clearence section there, though that was a long time ago.

Well, today I made the trip to S. Seattle, and picked up Maul, Anakin Jango, Vader, Tyranus, Mace, and the new Leia & Unmasked Vader for a little over a hundred bucks including gas & food. 6 hours and 14 stores later I have all the Unleashed I needed to complete the collection. Thanks guy's:D

Turbo, hope you were as lucky as I was today.:D

It was a litle comic book shop in Tacoma, WA that head Leia & Vader plus Tyrannus and Mace. I went there b/c that was where I had bought Padme, and passed up the Tyrannus and Mace figures so when I went back to get those he was opening a box that had the 2 new ones in it. I wasn't expecting to get them so I kinda lucked out.:)

Dang, mini-rock! You caught up quick! Took me the better part of a year to get all those, and you swoop in and make it look easy! You even one--I mean, two--upped me with the Leia and Vader Redux! You ever go to Vegas? ;)

Seriously, congrats on the haul. :) Hopefully it won't be too much longer now.

Thanks bobafrett & Bent Wookie. I had passed up the Unleashed Figs in the past b/c my 12" collection takes up so much room, but once I saw Padme I caved. As for finding them all yeah I lucked out, but I would have looked all day, and even would have gone to Bellingham or as far south as Portland to find them. I'm that way though, I get what I want.:D

Wow, I pay equal to 30 for one Unleashed. I only have one, Tyranus, which I couldn't resist. Consider yourselves lucky!

Dang, I really like that Unleashed Padme. Finally opened her up and placed her on the big screen in front. My wife said I need a life.:D

OK, anyone know how to get Padme's frikkin chain to look like it does in the pic on the back of the package? I have tried & tried to get this to look right but can't. This is the only part of this figure that irritates me.

I'm curious to know too. Haven't opened mine up yet since no room to display it right now. I have mine packed away so I can't see but I thought at first she was going to come with a bendy so you could flex it. Is it not bendy? If not, try this if there's room. Take a long clear twist tie and run it through the chain. See if that helps. If that doesn't work, maybe someone else can enlighten us both.

BW, Yeah the problem is the chain is too bendy and it will not stay in a fixed position. There is also no way to get a twisty in it since it's basically a flat piece. I would really like to know what Hasbro used to get their's in the pic to stay that way.:)

LOL, I have the same problem, I thought somethig simular to Bent Wookie, but never tried it. I't really doesn't bother me.

If anyone's still looking for Jango and Maul, KB now has them on clearance for $9.99. And they're the only regular retail store where I've seen Dooku and Mace. (Of course, I have yet to see Vader or Ani at a KB.)

Bent Wookie

What's up with the distribution on these figures anyway?? I mean, some of the stores are still sitting on a couple Darth Mauls and a whole lotta Jangos. TRU got Mace and Dooku in over the holidays (when I bought 'em) in ONE shipment and found Vader, Ani and Padme on a fluke in Walmart out of town on clearance. I'm glad I decided to buy them unlike the time I found the holiday set, 'cause I haven't seen them or the holiday set since.

So am I going to have to order the new ones online? Are these going to be THAT hard to find from now on? By the way stores are stocking new product these days, that may be the case. Heck, I might just turn to buying them by the case if this keeps up!

mini-rock, I just had another idea (although not sure if it will work). Try a long thin piece of wire (maybe like the wire used to hang pictures) and find some way of getting it to stick to the chain. If you don't care about heavily customizing it, you could try super gluing it. Aside from that, maybe those clear rubber bands that come with the figures? Yeah, scratch the glue. Anyway, , wrap a couple of those clear rubbers around the wire (be careful with it--sharp and barby!) and you might be able to get it to flex then. And if that still doesn't do it, get some viagra. :p

P.S. I have no idea if this will work. Just sounds like it might. Let me know if you try it and it works. I'll do the same to mine when I open her. Good luck, & may the force be with you. ;) :D

Thanks Bent Wookie:D. Yeah I thought about super glue, but changed my mind pretty quick. The clear rubber bands don't work either :frus:. I dunno. I guess I'll just wrap it around her and try to get a good look out of it, but it will never look like the pic on the back of the box. Hopefully you have much better luck when you open yours than I did:D.

re:Padme
You won't get the box look, but if you put it in her hand at about 1/2 length then you should be able to balance a couple of large "loops" and have the tail end trail behind her. Then don't shake for many years and everything will be ok.

I wish I had some quick pics for you guys, but my point it I was able to coerce the chain into a modestly dynamic position. I don't want anyone to have to glue theirs or whatnot, so keep trying!

hey, check this out mini. I just put a little earth quake puddy on the back of her knee. I did it quick, so I think this will work after I play round with it more.

Bent Wookie
03-03-2003, 11:18 PM
Pretty cool, turbowars. :) By the way, what's earth quake puddy?

Turbowars
03-03-2003, 11:22 PM
thats what it is called. Here in CA they sell earth quake crap all over. You can get it at Home depot or hardware stores. It's a reusable putty(dd my bad)to hold things down.

Bent Wookie
03-03-2003, 11:45 PM
Ah, putty. Ok. Home Depot, eh? May have to check with them. Thanks for the tip. :)

I like that turbo:D. I guess there's hope. I'm gonna keep working at it like Hk said, and hope to get something somewhat dynamic out of it. Maybe after my wife goes to sleep so I don't have to hear her say "Are you messin with that damn thing again?!:)

I funally got Padme's chain to look likt it does in the pic on the back of the card. The secret? Double sided tape. I only used 4 very small pieces and it turned out perfectly. here's no way to tell that THAT is what's holding the chain.:)

I also opened up Leia today after I received my duplicate MOC to display behind the opened one. Like this one a bunch too. Does anyone know if her head moves?

Turbowars
03-05-2003, 07:08 PM
How would we know if the head moves, you have 2 of them and I have none.:D

Hey turbo, I got my second one through http://dnstoys.com and they made sure to send me mint items. You do have to get the set though (Leia & Vader) since they do not sell them seperately, but I plan to get dups for all my Unleashed figs anyway since I never really had the chance to with my 12"ers. Last I checked they still had some in stock, but just be sure to mention you want them absolutely MINT if you decide to order them.:D

One thing I noticed when I was opening the 2nd version Vader yesterday was that it, and Leia, didn't come with the trading cards. All the other figures have 'em, why not these. I still haven't opened Jango, Mace, Tyrannus, Anakin, Maul, and 1st Vader but the cards are clearly there. Did Hasbro just decide to stop including the cards?

bobafrett
03-09-2003, 01:18 PM
I'll have to go look at my packages to see if I have a card in my Slave Leia & Vader. I wish they did have the card, but knowing Hasbro's history of changing things, they probably don't.
