:)Ok I would've post this at mcfarlaneguide's forums but no one post there for like mouths at a time. also I'm not regasterd ther.any way for the fans who like the Movie manics line who thinks it'd be cool to get a Sumara figure from the movie the Ring she could come with a tape,a well, and some other stuff what do you think?:)

I could go for a Samara figure, if they were to do her. Or they could do the charecter from the original Japanese film, Sadako. Hell, make it a 2-pack, since Dreamworks bought the rights to the original "Ringu" as well. :)

Seeing how I am poor and in a debt with Ohio State and have a hard time parting with money, can I ask who this Samara figure is? Is she the dead girl from the tape? (Remember, I haven't seen the movie, just going by what others tell me)

Yeah, Samara is the spooky dead girl from the tape. If you get a chance, rent the DVD. It's one of the best horror films out of Hollywood in ages. Mostly due to the fact they don't go all out to be gory. But depend on charecter development and mood to tell the story and deliver the shocks. :)

I'm hoping the OSU movie channel airs it sometime soon. It's free, and I get to see the new releases on tv.

I always wanted to see the Movie Maniacs line make the 1989 Batman into a figure. Or a killer tomato. Either one will work for me.

I just saw the movie. It wasn't too bad.

I just saw the movie as well... and lets just say that neither my wife nor I wanted to take the $10 dollar bet to go down into the basement that night... spooky -est movie Ive seen in awhile.

if they released a fig, make her full scale, but only half, so you could place her nest to the TV as if she was crawling out...

I saw the movie two days ago in the evening with my brother on DVD (we put the lights out so it would be extra scary) and IMO it was the scariest movie I've seen in a while, and I'm not that easily frightened by horror flicks usually
Mcfarlane should definitly release her in the next MM7 line, standing with her hair (soft plastic) hiding her face, and as an accessory (as said) the tape

and for other Movie Maniac choices, McF should make a Robocop and a deluxe boxed ED-209

Whoa! All of a sudden, everybody has good ideas for the MM line. I was begining to think they were running out. I wouldn't mind seeing a MaCreedy figure from The Thing with arctic coat and cowboy hat. How about a Dekker figure (Harrison Ford) from Blade Runner or (snowballs chance in hell) Indiana Jones. Never mind thatn last one.

They could make it into a cool figure, I would be up for it. But, damn it, not until they make The Dude from the Big Lebowski.

Two figs I've been pushing to make the MM line for years: Lestat (Tom Cruise) from Interview with the Vampire and Gabriel (Christopher Walken) from The Prophecy.

Sounds like a cool figure to me. I'd like one.

mylow thehutt, the McFarlaneGuide.com Forums are pretty much dead and the forum users who ARE there are pretty lifeless. I would post Movie Maniacs stuff here. We're always talking about them.

03-09-2003, 08:16 PM
Agreed with Jayspawn. The forums here are a great place for discussing pretty much anything in toys, not just Star Wars. That's why SSG is such a good place for discussion. Plus you're more likely to get a response here, then any of the other "Toy" forums out there. I'm a member of most of them, I know that for a fact. :)

Hay jar-Jar if MCfarlane gets the rights for a linda blair figure then will it up the chance for the samara figure? BTW after seeing the wizard of OZ stuff i think a Killer tomato sounds sweetand the idea for the samara satue that can be place to look like shes comming out of the T.v sounds NICE!!

03-10-2003, 08:19 PM
Won't happen, they've tried. Linda Blair wants to much for rights to her likeness. I forget exactly what they said she asked for, but unless she's willing to change her mind, McFarlane refuses to pay that much. They also couldn't get the rights to Hellraiser, because Buena Vista (Disney) both wanted to much and didn't want to deal with McFarlane. Luckily NECA came to the rescue. :)

Ha ha, yeah a killer tomato would be a bit of a different take on the movie maniacs line. Well, they did make a Shaft figure, so I guess it could always happen. I want a Crazy Dad from Frailty, too. Paxton is the man.

and how about some Critters? a five pack or so would be really nice, some standing and some rolled up ones, maybe with some pieces of flesh and limbs as accessories

Why not............

........stating what your thread topic is about in the title once in a while? It seems that there are a lot of these types of "made ya look" threads around - usually started by the same person. No offense to you at all Mylow, but it is kind of annoying. I'm left to wonder how many people never join any of the threads you start simply because you refuse to tell us what they're about up front.

Again, please don't be offended at all. You do have a knack for starting good discussions pretty often. This is just something that has really been bugging me, and I thought I should say something about it. Am I alone on this one?

...and yes, I think Samara would make an excellent Movie Maniacs figure!;)
