I had my students make a list of their 10 favorite words to put into a poem. My words were:
contradictory
facade
anthropomorphic
specificity
enthusiasm
sojourn
ecclectic
loyal
nostalgia
empathetic
According to my mother, one of my earliest words was "caps," as in hubcaps, as I would often to point to things asking what they were. Hubcaps were close to my line of sight, I suppose.
Favorite part of speech? A tie between adjectives and adverbs. I just love description. It's so... so, uh, good. :p One of my nicknames as an English teacher is The Champion of the Adverb. You didn't "finish quick;" it's "finish quickly." Teacher pet peeves... geez.

speaking of which, WEEEEEEEEE!!!! is always fun.
audacious - used that one today...
horsepower - such an arbitrary measurement that somehow means so much to so many people - including me...
art - it's important
love - it is, too...
jive - it's become the word to sum up all the bad in my life recently - bad things "jive me out..." (it actually comes from a simpsons episode - mr. burns implements a calisthenics program at the power plant, and says during one excercise "breathe in the love... push out the jive...")
freynlayven - just 'cuz
