I dunno, looks customized due to the green saber, however that's basically the just of it. The only "new" things is Chewie possibly having a Bowcaster (dunno if that's a rehash as well) and dandruff on him, plus the R3 unit being colored differently than the Star Tours or Sneak Preview R3's. Other than that it's all rehash and not hard to make a fake picture of. Actually you could just do the snow detail and R3 recoloring in Photoshop if you wanted to.

There's a Hoth Chewie from back in the Flashback Photo days that has dandruff. I forget if he has a bowcaster or not though.

Why would the taun taun's tail come off? It was the belly Luke was slid into. What did Chewie or the driod have to do w/ Luke's rescue?

The Tauntaun I don't think is gonna be made to have a split open belly but I dunno, the tail was off I guess cause they figured it might be easier to pack in the bubble. The Flashback Chewie did have his Bowcaster but the snow detail Chewie in this pack is supposed to be the Saga Bespin Escape Chewie with added snow.

Chewie's in there with Leia because they tie-in around Luke, and Hoth Han is coming out around the same points, the Droid is in there as the token Droid and because we love new ones. The Tauntaun was a rabid fan that snuck in and became official.

If this thing turns out to be true, how many of us are going to be more than a bit upset that they didn't use it as an excuse to rerelease the Han Solo/Tauntaun Beast collection figures? What sense would it make for them to give us Luke on his Tauntaun again when the last ones sat on the shelves in most places. Last I checked, there were a lot of us that were still upset that we never got a shot at Han and his Tauntaun at retail.:mad:

I dunno - I'm a big Hoth fan - and this looks OK. Even with rehashes of older stuff it stille gives us a Tauntaun.... I was hoping there would be more accessories - and what about a Wampa? That would be nice.

Looks good.. I would love more droids!! :)

But the Tauntaun looks alittle small doesn't it?

Well, that's cool and all but the only thing I would want from there is the droid. The rest are rehashes of POTJ Leia bespin escape, POTF Hoth Chewie and "bend those legs" luke that came with the tauntaun. :(

I think I agree with LT on this one, although I'm not entirely sure, that it's some kind of custom??? Guess we'll all find out. Still, it's interesting. :)

I don't think it's a fake picture. Galactic Hunter said the Chewbacca was going to be a Saga Bespin Chewie with Hoth Snow detail added. And that's what it is. They also confirmed R3-A2 in the set, and that's who's pictured there. :)

I knew we'd find out ;) Thanks for the link on that. TY JJB

COOL that it is real. I couldn't tell that that was saga bespin chewie with my bad eyesite and all...was totally squinting at the picture..."what is that?" hehe

I think then I'd get it for the chewie because I love that sculpt and now he's ready for the Hoth battle and I do dig that droid...the more droid variations the better, but I don't like the luke and have enough bespin leias :)

I didn't mean it in that way, but rather just customs as a stand-in picture. Yeah it could be real but the green saber could prove otherwise, remember he had a blue saber then. The picture could be how Brian'sToys should've done with their early pic of the Sandtrooper 4-pack. ;)

I don't think it's a custom as in "hehe, I'm gonna fool you all!"

Anyways I wonder how much this set will cost, or if the Tauntaun won't do much about it. One or both of the Imperial or BH 4-pack are gonna be $20 according to Amazon, but the Tauntaun and Luke beastpack cost $20 when it came out.

The saber was probably just tossed there without giving it a second thought. I'm sure the final version will be blue. And I'm sure that it will be $20, just like the other two sets. The packaging is reduced to a minimum, and the sets are basically rehashes with some paint changes. So Hasbro can easily slap all that on a card for $20.00. Especially if they have a ton of old Luke w/ Tauntaun sets in the warehouse. :)

Well, if we REALLY do get a kit'bashed Leia as I suggested in a thread a while back --- POTJ Bespin Escape Body with a Hoth head and vest, I'd actually be pretty stoked. Frankly, this set does excite me. I somehow never get a Taun Taun and will totally be wanting that wicked droid repaint as well.

Very, very cool. All things considered.

Can anyone work out if that R3 repaint is from T7 (wonderfully posable) or D3 (adequate, but limited)? I suspect the latter;

Chewie - worthwhile for bowcaster (possibly);

Luke - may be handy for Hoth headswaps with POTF2 Rebel soldiers (but buying on eBay for 4 might be easier & cheaper);

Leia - where's the weapon, where's the vest? She'll freeze.

Tauntaun - seems to be Solo's, with the shorn-off horn.

The droid and tauntaun will sell it to me but I really hope they use the tauntaun head with both horns intact that came with han not the head that came with Luke. If you compare this set to the Imperial forces set there isn't that much in the imperial set. And DNA, the tauntaun is quite small. I was surprised when i got mine how small it is but the detail is great so it's a nice beast to own.

Yeah this looks like a nice set to buy especially if leia is a rehash not just a re-issue.

Sorry, must publish "Somerset Guidebook".

There's a third place with a SW-sounding name in Som./Devon, and I can't remember it for my life....

I think the reason why the Han and Taun Taun isn't included in this set is because we are getting a new Han anyways on a basic card. I know everyone knows this, but I'd just thought I would bring it up. I think the set is cool, but the luke needs to go. I mean come on, we are getting a new cool Han and then we get this POTF2 reject that wont have any continuity with the set. Who was it who said Hasbro probably has a stoke pile of the Luke beast pacK? That's probably what's happening. I wouldn't put past anything with Hasbro. I think of Hasbro as Willy Woonka's Factory. All F'ed up and backwards. :)

Ok that's pretty cool now that I can actually SEE it :)

the leia is cool too. didn't realize she had the jacket on plus a different head sculpt and chewie and the droid are great too. I still don't care for the luke though, but 75% ain't so bad :)

Hope they sort out leias hands, they look stupid posed for holdng a blaster when she didn't hold anything much on Hoth. The figure body looks good with the gillet on and i can live with the running pose of the legs even but the arms look silly.

I don't know about this set....

The only thing I really want out of it is the R2 droid....The rest I already have...

Is it just me, or does it seem like Hasbro is just giving up?

I mean there have been 10 re-issued figs this year, a re-issued A-wing (coming), a re-issue Jedi Star fighter, a re-issued (slightly modified) TIE fighter, re-issued Gunship, re-issued ATT....the other multi-packs are (mostly) re-issues......

I think I may be saving a lot of money this year....not buying stuff.... (and to think I was a die-hard completionist)

Two things:

1- What's a "gillet"?

2- Are you actually saying that you'd want her hands resculpted so that she can't hold anything?

...just curious.:)

Cool, and it looks like the whole tusk is there on the final version. Wonder why they used that Luke: Hoth then, since it's not his Tauntaun. Maybe so that he's easier to stuff inside. Shame it looks like Leia won't get her gloves, or proper boots though. :(

Sweet, although the horn still looks cut/worn down/whatever, it's not completely curving or as long in the pics like the other, so it's still Luke's I guess. It doesn't really make sense though, since it was Han's tauntaun he was stuffed into. Wonder if it'll be like the vintage one with just the hinged doors or if it'll have some nice detail.

RooJay a Gillet is the bodywarmer waistcoat thing leia and the hoth boys wear. The correct term for a sleeveless garment worn over ones clothing as one would wear an overcoat is Gillet. It's FrenchFreedom.

Split belly eh? It still better be han's tauntaun when the sets arrive though or I'm gonna be pretty mad.

OK...If it IS a split belly taun taun...I'll take back my earlier comment, and will consider getting this.

Will Luke fit in the Taun Taun? hmm...

Aha...I always just called those things vests, but I suppose that's not nearly descriptive enough. Ya learn somethin' new every day! Thanks Jargs!

Exactly! Ya know...I could live with not having the Hoth Han from the Tauntaun Beast set as part of this since we're getting a carded version anyway (although, in spite of his rather extreme stance - I doubt he'll be able to ride a Tauntaun very well), but they should at least be giving us Han's Tauntaun, for a couple very obvious reasons!

I like it because of the Tauntaun. I'd like to have an extra one or two for dioramas. I wish I'd picked up a couple of the Luke/tauntauns when they were $5 at TRU.
