Well, it's been a year and a day since the Saga line officially premiered. After one year, what do you think so far about these figures? Post your thoughts, favorites, least favorites, everthing! I'll post mine later.

Liked: Realistic sculpts, continuation of OT characters, AOTC characters, articulation, more accessories.

Least Favorite: Red Clone Trooper, Anakin Peasant, Boba boy, Senator Binks, Mace Sceamdu, R2-D2 Flight, Padme arena.

Other: I look forward to almost ALL the upcoming 2003 figures.

I'm happy with it. I think the sculpts for the most part are right on! I do wish they would make those "statue" figs such as Luminara have more articulation so you can move them OUT of the statue pose!

Favs: Bespin Luke, Hoth Han, Bespin Escape Chewie, Boba Fett Pit of Carkoon, Aayla Secura, Ephant Mon, Padme Pilot, Djas Puhr, Dexter Jetster, clean and bearded Endor trooper, trash compactor sets, Senator Palpatine.

Least Favs: Senator Jar Jar, Flying R2 D2  Peasant Anakin, Qui Gon (they STILL haven't gotten his face right yet)

Action feature: some are alright, like the small magnets in the hands, other than that, I can do with out them.

Articulation: Glad they are getting creative and adding more joint articulation

Lightsabers: ROCK!!!

Paint Jobs: Pretty darn acurate

I liked the SAGA line. The later part, especially. Favorites (Out of what I have ONLY, which is why Ephant Mon isn't there.):
1. Republic Gunship.
2. Trash Compactor Sets.
3. Dagobah X-Wing/Nexu. (Just can't choose! :D)

Least:
1. Arena Padme. Obvious reasons.
2. Jango Pilot. I like him but he's just kind of boring. I get every Jango though.
3. Jango Final Battle, not because I dislike the figure but because it's the ONE THING keeping my WM from getting new figures!

I am not sure since it was the saga line that had me hang up collecting for a while. I guess the biggest complaint I have is when hasbro is on, they are putting stuff out like mad. And when they are off, there is nothing to be found. I hate that. 1 million Orn fre taa, but not one Aayla Secura.

Favorites: Chewbacca with 3po, Ephant Mon and Bespin Luke.

Hate: Orn fre taa, screaming mace, and generic endor trooper!

Over all, I just want some figures. That is it plain and simple. I want to go to my local target and get what I want with plenty left over for every one else. I enjoyed that last year at this time. On the first day of releases I got everything that I wanted, and it was like that for a while. By the time Christmas hit...nothing. And it has been that was since. So it is just business as usual, and I have a feeling the collecting bug won't stay with me very long.

I strongly agree with TheDarthVader except for really 1 thing:

"Hey DV, what's wrong with Padme Coruscant's figure?" (the pilot) one?

That's a good figure, isn't it? [I haven't had to open mine due to lack of room to recreate that scene so far].

The only bad thing about her I can think of, is she pegwarms. That doesn't make her a bad figure, though.

It's been a prety good line. It's been a hassle to collect them, and they seem to be harder and harder to get (any chance you could FIX that Hasbro?). Anyways...

FAVORITES: Ephant Mon, Yoda Jedi Master, Count Dooku, Bespin Luke, Rebel Trooper, Imperial Officer, Endor Rebel Soldier, Anakin Hanger Duel, Padme Droid Factory Chase, Kamino Escape Jango, Republic Gunship, TIE Bomber, Tusken Raider w/ base, 12" Ultimate Jango Fett and 12" Count Dooku.

HATE! Mace Windu Geonosian, Arena Padme, Pleasant Anakin, 12" Padme, 12" Anakin and Reek.

I like the figure in regard to overall detail. What I DON'T like are the whacky poses and the "action" gimmicks. Those completely ruin the long-term playability or interest of the figure.

Overall I'm not completely disappointed by the line. My one wish... create a neutrally posed figure first and then create the same figure in action poses down the line.

I am overall very happy with the SAGA line. Many of the negatives I have for it are the result of the stregth of the POTJ line, and Hasbro's seeming unwillingness to recognize what makes a GREAT figure.

That being said I have like just about all of the new figures - and am especially happy with the OT releases (Chewie, Luke, Vader, Han).

Overall, I am not very pelase with the action features. I am also becoming increqasingly frsutrated with Hasbros distribution. Finally, the flimsy plastic used for accessories, and figures (see below) is crazy.

My least favorite is the Battle Droid. Many times before I've ranted about this one. The inferior plastic used for this figure makes it a waste. There was no need to adjust it from the original EPI release.

Now Padme Arena and Anakin OPD are also real gems in the world of bad figures. But having a 6 year old has taught me that these are in fact very popular.

New figs are always a good thing - so I say GRRRREAT!

Sorry I didn't post my thoughts before, I had to get off the computer right after I wrote the thread. Anyway, overall, I really like the Saga figure line so far. It has had its fair share of crap, but the majority is pretty cool. The first few months were significantly crappy. But here's my lists:

The Greats:
Kit Fisto, Super Battle Droid, Shaak Ti, Jango Fett (Kamino), Geonosian Warrior, Dexter Jettster, Clone Trooper, Royal Guard, Anakin (Hangar Duel), Yoda (Jedi Master), Luminara Unduli, Count Dooku, Luke (Bespin Duel), Darth Vader (Bespin Duel), Jango Fett (Final Battle), Endor Rebel Soldier, Chewbacca (Cloud City Escape), Supreme Chancellor Palpatne, Darth Maul, Ephant Mon (don't have him), Teemto Pagalies, Jango Fett (Pilot), Clone Trooper (Pilot), Watto, Lott Dod, Darth Tyranus, Padmé (Droid Factory - don't have her), Research Droids (don't have them), Tusken Raider (Ambush), Anakin (Secret Ceremony), Boba Fett (Carkoon), and the newest ones I don't know much about.

The Terribles:
Anakin (Outland), Padmé (Arena), R2-D2 (Droid Factory Flight - that damn string!!!!!!!)

All the rest, to me, were simply meh. I don't really hate anything, except the three terribles I listed, and those have some (VERY FEW) redeeming qualities, like Padme and R2 are good in dioramas. But all in all, the Saga line is pretty cool. Especially the new stuff to come!

And no Hasbro doesn't pay me . . . :p

Action features, extreme poses and lack of articulation in legs, action features, cheapo plastics, bad paint apps, warped toys in the packaging, action features, extreme poses, wasted articulation on figures that didn't need it or couldn't use it all BAD BAD BAD!

Vehicles all good. Excellent in fact.

Some nice figures among the dross. Royal guard, Teemto, Yoda, Captain Typho, Ephant (although he's too tall). R3-T7, The Nexu being the best toy ever made. While the Reek with epileptic attack feature was kind of fun for about five minutes. The Acklay lkooked good but is ultimately a worthless statue that's badly posed and poorly constructed. There were a few good ideas coming out last year that got trashed by the hasbroken machine. Toys made by committee are crud and that's the way these things seem to be made these days.

And the emergence of randy@hasbro was the worst thing that happened last year.

The best thing that happened was that I took a good look at what i bought and decided it was crap and threw a lot of it it out. I also decided not to spend half as much money on star wars toys. So some good came out of the absolute crud hasbroken made last year.

Favorites: Ephant, Luminara, Emp guard, Lott Dod, Dexter

Worst: Jango Pilot, Mace Geo. Rescue, Padme Arena,

I was overall pleased with the year. I thought it could have been better but at least we were getting some good sculpts and nice looking figs. They really needed to get rid of the action features(thank God they did). I would like to see nuetral poses with lots of Articulation inthe upcoming figures. I didn't get much of the vehicles and beasts becausde of lack of money so I can not comment on those. I will in fact be getting them in a few months.

Wow, a year already. In a lot of ways it doesn't seem that long. It seems like yesterday that I was so excited about all those figures coming out at once.

April 23rd was one helluva cool day (or 22nd actually in my case, as they put the figures out a day early!)

And on the whole I have loved the Saga line.

I just put away most of my loose collection so the time's right for this thread...

Favorites: Kit Fisto (especially with an accesory set cloak on him...I want a 12" version of this guy BAD!) Luminara Unduli, Pilot Padme, Hanger Ani. The Nikto Jedi...The fantastic Ephont Mon. The superb "Unleashed" Vader (the first one). The very fine (if not tall enough) Count Dooku 12" figure. The very well done Republic Gunship. The Ultimate Jango.

Least favorites: Arena "Tomb Raider" Padme, Flying R2, Deluxe figures (except Nexu...it's cool). "I've got gas" Mace Windu. No cloaks with 12" jedi figures!!! Still no decent Jango Fett or really outstanding Anakin (hanger duel almost gets it except for lame action feature) The too tiny yellow speeder (that no figures could really fit in well). The continuing idiocy with case-packing ratios (one new figure for every two or more ones from previous cases...arggghhh!) The chinzy 12" packaging. The Celine Dionized 12" Padme....

I dunno....I hope the SW line didn't hit the high mark with the POTJ banner but....time will tell....

Like most everyone else, I hated the action features. The extreme poses didn't bother me as much as it did some. I did notice the downgrading of materials this year. Icky soft plastic. Paint apps were also hit-n-miss. The other HUGE drag is the total lack of new figures a full FOUR MONTHS into the new year. Very disappointing.

As for some light on the horizon....I like the new bases. The detailing looks like it's coming back up too.

I don't like the "Action" poses, or the inability of the figures to fit into a vehicle. I liked the POTJ sculpts MUCH BETTER-very neutral and very good.
The worst action feature I have seen around here is theone that is not on the lable but should be. I'm talking about Anakin/Jango/Zam's "Unique Peg-Warming Action!-It can hang there for MONTHS on end, and not be replaced by a new figure!"

Please Hasbro, NO MORE ANAKIN, PADME, MAUL, OBI-WAN, OR ZAM sculpts!

I remember going to Midnight Madness at my TRU in Westland and seeing these "figures" and being terribly disappointed. I only walked out with 4 figures and eventually later picked up a Dooku & Padme Droid Factory. This is the line that stopped my collecting. In my opinion, the poses of these figures is terrible. The continual remakes of the same figure but in a different pose or with a different accessory just angers me. My wife likes the Saga line the best since it is saving us lots of money.

Like : Obi-Wan Jedi Pilot, Anakin (Ceremonial) Yoda (Jedi Master) Kit Fisto, Both Dooku's, Supreme Can. Palpatine, Lama Su, Bespin Luke and Vader, Boba Fett (pit carkoon)

I really can't say I dislike some figures cause I buy one of everything. But if I had to choose some. Here they are....

Eeth Koth, Outland Anakin, Obi-Wan Chase, both Windu's, Teebo, Han Solo Ender Raid.

I do like Ephont Mon, but wish he was just alittle smaller to fit into a star case.
