Check out this site. (http://www.dvdoriginal.com) Apparently the OT is out on DVD and is being sold on that site. The Cargo Hold on the Official Site does not even say anything about these DVD's.

Gotta love those asian bootleggers.

I'm supprised that GL does not sue these bootleggers for copywrite infringement. Or, sue the sellers for selling unlicensed merchendise and profiting off of the SW franchise. Is there some loophole in the law that allows these bootleggers to get away with this? These unofficial copies of the trilogy is costing GL money...and we all know how he so adores $$$. :D

If he so adores the cash, he would get the OT out on DVD himself. And he certainly wouldn't be financing his own films. He's busy with other projects, and as widespread as the bootlegging of DVD's are, it's not possible to catch everyone that's doing it. And since they are done over in Asia, it's even harder to crack down on them. And when they do, they just move to a new location and start again. There really is no sure way to stop this sort of thing, even once legitamite releases do come out. :(

As has been mentioned above, those are bootlegs. I got mine a few years ago...just to tide me over until the official release. I think these bootleg DVD's started showing up about 1997.

I'm still working on this page, but I have MANY of the Star Wars videos listed here. (http://r2toyforce.net/video.htm)

Hehehehehehee Thank the Maker for bootlegs!! I got the SE and the Original Trilogy both on DVD. However, i got one of the copies of ESB (OT) where the audio is off by about .5 second and it starts when Luke/Vader face off at Bespin. I'm currently in the process of finding a better copy. :D

Everytime I see one of these I'm this close --><--- to buying them. I need something to tide me over until the official releases.

Actually if you really look at it, it would cost GL more money to go after these people than to just let them do their thing. I mean c'mon he doesn't need anymore distractions with making EPS 3, we don't want it to any more junky than he might make it.;)

This has already been discussed at great length here (http://www.sirstevesguide.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18168).

I DO NOT SUPPORT BOOTLEG"S, but if people are so desperate to have the OT, and they do not have a Laserdisc player w/ RF Demodulator, then these would be the way to go.

YO R2Dee2 ;) hehe

I bookmarked that page right 'way! ;) Now that certainly looks like you've put a lot of time and hard work into putting that together! I can't wait to go through it, see all the goodies there are that I had no idea of!

Thanks for posting that and for putting all that info together! :)
