This has been somthing on my mind a while, I know that not everyone is a re-sculpt fan, but I think we do need some to bring some of the lesser Luke's to POTJ quality. I've listed them by movie. Lemme know what you think, and if you have any ideas.
These lists take in account the Luke: Snowspeeder Gear from the Crashed Snowspeeder and the Luke: Bespin Fatigues that we should get next year, from the cancelled CD-ROM.

ANH:
Luke Skywalker: Tatooine Poncho
Luke Skywalker: Stormtrooper
ESB:
Luke Skywalker: Medical Recovery Robe
Luke Skywalker: Dagobah
ROTJ:
Luke Skywalker: Jedi Knight
Luke Skywalker: Endor Poncho

Thats the only Luke's that I can think of we need, hopefully a couple a year and we can see the end of excessive Luke re-sculpts. I'll be posting one of these lists for all the main charecters from the original trilogy.

I agree we need a Luke w/poncho. I like it when they do resculpts on Luke. They *sometimes* make each one better than the last.

Absolutely!!!

He could be used as a post Bacta Tank Luke and a post-mechanohand Luke... BOTH from ESB!

I agree on most...but, I'd prefer a Deluxe Jedi Luke that has extra accessories. In addition to a soft goods Jedi robe, Hasbro should include a poncho and Rem. Helmet to go along with Luke. Of course, he'd have to have massive articulation to fit on a speeder bike...the fact that his outfit is black would really be good to kinda hide the articulation!

I agree on the Luke Medical and Luke Stormtrooper redos as well.

Yeah, I also think the best idea for the ROTJ Luke:Jedi would be to make it a deluxe figure. Just think how much stuff they could stuff into the package.

Tons of articulation, Jedi cloak, Blaster, Skull and Thigh Bone, Endor poncho, Removable helmet, Lightsaber w/removable blade, maybe even some snap-on Dark Side force lightning. :D

I think JarJarBinks pretty much said it all.

Bring it on Hasbro!

If they just resculpted Jedi Luke and ANH Ceremonial Luke then all my Luke needs would be complete.

I stated this several times on the old forums. What we need is a basic Tatoonie Luke with a bunch of accessories, like the poncho, hat, rifle, macroculars, etc... I think something like that would sell better than just a carded Luke with poncho.

The same with the ESB Luke and ROJ Luke.

One definitive Luke for each film eh?
ANH Luke: Floppy hat, rifle, macrobinocs, removable leather Tatooine utility belt, removable stormtrooper belt, lightsaber hilt, lightsaber, T-16 model, wrench, whiny attitude.

ESB Luke: Recovery Room Luke

ROJ Luke: Removable Endor helmet, removable camo poncho, 3 interchangable hands (normal, circuit showing, and gloved) Jedi cloak, lightsaber hilt, lightsaber and super articulation so he can ride a speeder or writhe on the ground in force lightning pain.

After that, NO MORE RESCULPTS!!!! I MEAN IT!

That's the idea. I think it would sell.

If Hasbro makes more Luke resculpts I really hope they go back to the original POTF head sculpture. The one from FF Luke up to X-Wing Luke is the goofiest looking one of all the figures.

The X-Wing Luke was a good idea since we got a good removable helmet, but they should have included some kind of grappling/magnetic gun like the one he had in ESB. That's all we need as far as Lukes go.

The only new Luke we need if an Ultimate Luke Jedi. :)

I have to agree with Evenflow. A new Jedi Luke would be nice.

Yes, but again the grappling/magnettic gun would be... Luke:Snowspeeder Gear. Same reason he doesn't come with a lightsaber, it's ANH Luke:X-Wing Pilot. If you compare the orange flight suit uniforms that Luke wore in ANH with the one he wore on Hoth in ESB, there are major differences.

Other then the slightly bucktoothed look on the POTJ Luke:X-wing, I think it's a great figure. Besides, look at him in ANH hope and he does have buckteeth. :D

I haven't noticed any specific changes in his suit from AND to ESB, but if you say so I'll take your word. However, does that really merit another resculpt? All we really needed to have the "complete" X-Wing Luke besides the removable helmet is the magnetic grappling gun. That is really the only weapon/accessory he uses in his flight suit.

As far as him having that accessory in the snowspeeder set, from the SSG pictures it doesn't look like they're throwing that little jewel in with it.

I guess what you could do is just get the gun from the red card Luke and use it with the X-wing sculpt.

I've seen the new X-wing Luke several times but have yet to buy him. (Mom, if you're reading this -- stocking stuffer!!!) I like the head sculpt and the body; big improvement over the first steroid Lukes. The removeable helmet is a plus. Can get extas, add a little paint and have more members of Rogue squadron.

The fact he doesn't come with more accessories doesn't bother me.

The flight suits on Hoth had grey boots and gloves, as well as having an orange parka coat with ribbed stripes down the arms, over the normal flight suit. This is most easily noticed by the fact it has a wide collar, as well as being more heavily padded then just the regular fight suit. This can easily be seen in comparing the '95 POTF2 Luke: "X-wing" Gear, which is really Luke: Snowspeeder Gear, due to the fact it features grey boots, grey gloves, and the orange parka. Here is a link to the figure.

I think they need to rethink the whole multiple variations of Luke problem and come out with Deluxe Movie Figures of Luke Skywalker. These figures would remain in production and have several points of articulation for multiple scene usage.

Tatooine Luke in white "classic" outfit with Hat, soft goods poncho, removable Stormtrooper belt w/holster, clip on lightsaber hilt/removable blade, clip on macrobinoculars, T-16 toy model.

The Binks-Tomassi-Ross ROJ Luke in classic black with Endor helmet/soft goods poncho, three hands, lightsaber hilt w/ removable blade, soft goods cloak, and Jabba goon blaster.

Empire Strikes back can get away with multiple Luke figures: Hoth Luke, Dagobah Luke, Bespin Luke, and Final pajama Luke.

I've stated several times previously there should be accessory sets where you could do something like this: a basic figure and a bunch of accessories.

I'm interested to see what these figure and accessory sets scheduled for later this year look like.

In additon to the two Lukes I mentioned, I think a Deluxe R2-D2 would be great as well. And a deluxe Vader with removable helmet, Soft goods cape, removable hand, etc. And make them super articulate, so we pose them in any situation, movie scene or otherwise. Anything to stop Hasbro from giving us umpteenth reculpts of characters super minor variations.
