Here we go:

It's kinda small, but they are all there. Also there is a second pic with Riekeen he comes with a huge view screen. It appears that the death stick guy is in the pics as well as an alien patron in red. This looks to be a very good year for lots of us. I suggest checking the pics at RS in the saga new 2003 pics section because this ones a little small.

The only thing I can say, is holy crap! Shame that the Digintary isn't Sim Aloo after all. But daaaaaaaamn, everything else looks awesome as hell. Glad they gave us Reikeen as well, since he and the Dignitary pretty much split the vote. Not to mention finally a decent Obi-Wan, and C-3PO w/ Escape Pod!! :)

Here, I cropped off all the stuff we've already seen. In case the images go down. And I didn't have to shrink down the figures so that they were harder to see to attach. :)

The ones that haven't been produced (modern era) are top priority on my list of things to get, the rest can kinda wait until the others are taken care of first. Riekeen, R-3PO, Death Sticks, Imperial Dignitary 1 & 2, Escape Pod, Bail, Padme, New Wampa, Alien Patron, Luke Hoth. Man I'm stoked, I may even get them all I'm so excited. :D

OH MY GOD!!!!!!! Everything here is awesome!!! That Wampa is sweet! To bad the C-3PO is the short mold from the 2002 deluxe, but the pod is too cool! And I can finally get more Hoth soldiers!!! Yeah!!!!

It looks like Hasbro's redoing the Cloney bike for the CW line. Good news for us who never found one.

The Wampa w/hunk o'meat looks pretty good as does that newer version of the Jedi Starfighter.

What's up with the Luke and Vader pictures? Are they coming out with new basic ones? I heard there was going to be a "new" Tatooine ANH Luke (CT rehash), but not with a lightsaber.

The new Wampa and Obi-Wan look awesome. So these figures are supposed to be out late this year? If I'm lucky I might find one of them before Episode III comes out in 2005....

Yeah, that's the recarded Vader from the Masters of the Dark Side set, and the Luke is the CT Luke. But they are including a lightsaber instead of the tool and T-16 Model. They are the last recarded figures for the year, as far as I've heard. :)

That's right! I remember reading that somewhere on SSG. I wasn't aware that Luke was getting the lightsaber instead. That would make more sense since who would want Luke w/o the lightsaber? I think they should round him out with a moisture farmer poncho like the one he has on the Falcon.

Slightly off the subject...What wave is next? Ack-Med and Daytonni?

Even the Sketch Trooper sort of looks a bit cooler. I guess the picture's we've been getting are just 'unflattering' but then again that's a low quality picture and you can't see the Trooper all that well, so..

One cool thing to point out is the rerelease of the Deluxe Clone Trooper with speeder bike. They're actually changing the steering vanes on the bike!

Hoth Luke looks cool, Imperial Dignitary #2 looks cool, really all the newest announced stuff looks pretty sweet. Durge looks goofy on the Swoop though, that's kinda pointless as he has that mondo jetpack. ;)

One really cool thing is the 3PO with escape pod! If you look closely you can see he has an open hand, looks just like on the AOTC Deluxe 3PO, they finally are using a superior mold! :)

I'm buying everything in those pics that doesn't have to do with clone wars. I love the 3-P0 and escape pod! The wampa is fantastic. I hope the Jabba they do is a ROTJ version rather than the episode IV one pictured. It seems Hasbro has started listening to us, except I still didn't see an R5-d4.

It looks to me like the 4 larger figures at the bottom (including the pic of Jabba as opposed to the toy) will make up the figures at deluxe price next year. The Hasbro release said there will be 7 of these, so that would mean these 4 and 3 others (wonder who?).

Rieeken looks exactly right. Awesome view screen. The new Wampa is way scarier, the chunk of meat is quite the accessory. I like the whole Nightclub theme, those are great. Looks like the upcoming stuff is going to be pretty exciting.

Woah! What a great surprise. I was actually starting to get sorta depressed, because there wasn't that many things that were all that appealing to me that were coming out later this year.

But this raises my spirits. Everything looks extremely cool. Alot of that stuff I hadn't even heard rumored that it was coming out. Even the craptacular durge looks cool atleast the speeder he has does. And that new clone speeder looks cool with the new stearing vane as well. And Reikeen, I have been wanting him forever, and the accessories are awsome :)

Now if I can find this stuff i'll be stolked.

He's a background droid from Empire Strikes Back, in the Hoth Rebel Base Hanger. I wonder if he's going to have his 'tattoo'. :D

Thanks Jar Jar. I was guessing hoth.

I'm so psyched hoth really is going to be a cool seen. With the Hoth 4 pack, witht he new droid, and open belly tauh taun (even though the horn is broken), and the new 04 items.
I'm still shocked that we have K3-P0 from POTJ.

Cool beans!!! I nearly messed my pants when I saw these photos.

Threepio with Escape Pod... too grand for words.

General Rieekan with display... a work of art.

R-3PO... a very, very, VERY nice surprise. Thanks Hasbro!

Wampa... beautiful.

Resculpted Luke Hoth... much needed, much appreciated.

Imperial Dignitaries... FINALLY!!! And fab sculpts!

Now for some pics of the new Jabba and Saga Luke Jedi #2. And a new Dengar!!! Goodnes gracious me. Such pleasant dreams I shall have tonight. Now to figure out...

How am I gonna pay for all this stuff, and where am I gonna put it???

Nice to see the Elan Sleazebaggano. I like the Obi-Wan figure, at least he won't have a "Jedi mind trick" action feature! :crazed:
The Luke Hoth is nice... but to me, it looks like a retooling of the POTF2 one.. which was a good figure I might add.
What I wanna know is where's the Anakin Skywalker figure!!!!! I'd like a nice Anakin Skywalker figure from Episode II with NO action feature! Kind of like Hangar Duel minus the crappy features on the arms and the wheel on the back.

Good point. He could well be, since a ROTJ Jabba may be too large for a Deluxe figure. Seems like he'd be boxed like the Saga Beast assortments; Jabba would be about as big as the Saga Reek, I would think, especially if they included a dais.

Check the naming thread. A couple people translated enough of the Japanese characters from the press material to line him up with one of the official Dignitary names. In this case, 'Kren Blista-Vanee'. :)

Elan Sleazebaggano is sweet looking as is Obi-Wan. Aay Vida is a repainted Shaaka from the EP1 watto's box seats set in the pic but she may end up being a new sculpt. Rieeken looks ultra cool, Wampa is awesome, escape pod is nice, Dignitaries both look utterly cool. Bail is at the top of my want list and even padme looks okay. R-3PO is not bad but I customised myself one a while back so I don't think I'll get that. Rebel soldier is much needed. Jabba might be cool might be poo have to wait for the hardcopy pics later this year. Like the clonetrooper swoop and the Durge swoop but i'm not keen on the riders.
Over all i'd say i'm pleased with 90% of this stuff and the 10% at this stage is poo. Of course final product may be a let down as we all know that the factories are not kind to action figures sometimes. But hasbroken seems to be repairing some of the damage done last year. As the LOTR stuff is looking like it's on the way out I'll be moving back to my SW collection and it lookslike I'll be timing it right. :)

It's hard to say with such minor characters. Sim Aloo and Janus Greejatus have been established for quite a while. As has Sate Pestage. The other two, I have no clue as to when they were given actual names. If I recall correctly, they may have been named in one of the suppliment books for the West End Games RPG from the late 80's early 90's. :)

I hope to God that he is a ROTJ Jabba, or at least a TPM Jabba. They need to redo the animation on ANH before they release another version of him like that, and they've never done one in the correct TPM/ANH pose. But, the picture of Kit Fisto has his regular Jedi tunic and cloak on, and the figure will be of him swimming from the cartoon. So here's to hoping he's from ROTJ. :)

Yep, yep, yep! Pretty much ditto to what most of you have said.
This new stuff looks great! All of that Hoth stuff is exciting ... Luke and Wampa, Rieeken and the screen ( :) ), R-3PO ... all super. An escape pod is finally coming ... great! And I'm not gonna panic over Jabba at this point ... I can't imagine it being too much worse than what we've had (OK, I can but won't). Right on, bring it on!

I come back from a short vacation and see these pics and wow! This stuff is great. I will be purchasing everything but the clone wars stuff. A couple of issues...
1. Will the Saesee Tiin and Kit Fisto be regular line or clone wars?
2. I am a little disappointed that they did not make Sim Aloo.
3. Looks like the "special edition" jabba will be the one made.

Other than these, I am happy with all of the figures. I am glad that I never bought the potf2 wampa. This one is the "definitive" wampa!!!

1. Seasee Tiin and Kit Fisto are Clone Wars Figures. There is somthing about Kit being a 'swimming' figure. So I assume will have articulated ankles like the 'swimming' Jar Jar and Qui-Gon. :)

2. Agreed there, but that doesn't mean he won't get made in the future. I'm in fact extremely shocked that they did the Pirate Dignitary. Because he barely appears in the film or at all. :)

3. It's the ROTJ one, that was just the picture that was snagged for the press. ROTJ Jabba was already confirmed as coming, so wait until Insider #71 for it to be revealed. :)

I really like all the new figures. Some of the action features were ok on the first waves of Saga, but I like the more non action pose on most of the newer figures. I collect them all so I guess Im a completist (have been since 95 :) )But I must agree all the new figures are totally kick. Hopefully I put 3rd Quarter 2004

That's an estimate.

Steve reported on what the waves were.

The first one was Hoth with the Wampa.

I'm not sure if Rieeken is intended for release at the same time. They have Luke to go with the carded figures wthen the Wampa and Wampa cave is coming out. You guys know you get THE CAVE playset with it, right? Luke's "stand-base" plugs into the cave so he hangs upside down if you want him to.

Rieeken comes with the Echo Base Command Center mini-set. That's probably the viewscreen and chair from "General a fleet of Star Destroyers just came out of hyperspace." / "Prepare for ground assault!" and Ion Cannon Control.

I think R-3PO, the red protocal droid, will correspond with this set.

The Rieeken stuff might be wave 6, and solely the Wampa in wave 1.

That should be first quarter 2004.

----------------------------------------------------

The second wave of stuff is set to a Tatooine theme. It is NOT the Jabba wave.

All they'd tell us is that Luke Jedi Knight (from Jabba's Palace) is in that wave.

I think the figures will just have to do with Tatooine, so if we got a Kitster and Wald, they could come in this wave. (no plans for that that I heard - just an example that it doesn't necessarily have to all be ROTJ)

One thing I do thing, is that this is when the Deluxe C-3PO with Escape Pod vehicle will ship. So that's ANH obviously, with Luke Jedi not tying in.

-------------------------------------------------------

After the stuff above gets out, the 3rd wave of deluxe will finally include Jabba. That could be by spring 2004 or later, depending upon distribution and how many wampa caves sat or sold. (I think sold! It's cool! I know...it's ice. So pardon the expression  )

------------------------------------------------------

Wave 4 might go back to Hoth for the Rieeken. I'm not sure what it was.

Wave 5 will be Dengar with a backpack and start the Star Destroyer bridge playset in sections. I don't know how big it is. My guess is we're building the level where all the bounty hunters meet by the blast doors. No pictures were shown. But the idea rocks!

I don't think you guys got an idea of how cool these sets could be!

Then again, there aren't pictures out yet, so I too don't know for sure what I'm talking about. But Hasbro had the Wampa cave done and shown in their powerpoint presentation. Bloody TaunTaun leg included!

I still don't think they're changing the Deluxe price point's MSRP from the current $11 (which they just raised it to from last year).

As for "the cave", look at the pic of the Wampa here, it's got a piece of cave floor at its feet - I am pretty sure this is the only thing it will come with, and this is what Luke's stand will plug into. Look at the text on Hoth Luke's pic:

Luke's base attach-- (goes out of frame)
base of the Wamp-- (goes out of frame)
(sold separate-- (goes out of frame)
to(?? unsure of word) re-create the scen(?? unsure of word) -- (goes out of frame)
I believe it's getting at that Luke's base attaches to the base of the Wampa, not a playset or cave.

Jargo

Hasbro said he would be able to hang upside down. it was in the transcript of the press conference or whatever the hell it was they did as Q&A session. Or maybe someone had a private chat with Jeff Popper. can't remember exactly but I know I've read an official voice of Hasbro said it would be a hangable luke. no point saying that if they don't give you something to hang him on in the set.

JediTricks
07-25-2003, 12:28 AM
Honestly, Hasbro's people said more than 1 confusing or apparently inaccurate things during the con. I've heard so many variations on the amount of new tooling that's been made for the Sandcrawler that first was said was coming and then they said the deal was not as solid as first thought and then it was all new and then it was mostly new and then almost completely nothing new and so on and so forth, so until I see differently, I am taking the "cave playset" thing as being either a miscommunication or other similar error. The pic of the Wampa and the pic of Luke are fairly clear, and they did say this was going to be part of the deluxe price-point line (I still haven't seen where Hasbro said the price-point on Deluxe was changing either) which would not accomodate the Wampa and a whole cave system (I doubt even a cave like the old Micro Collection one).

Jargo
07-25-2003, 03:52 PM
I don't see anything remotely cave-like appearing with the set just a clip on plastic stlactite with slots for Luke's feet. That would be more hasbro's style. No cave just a molded column with slight overhang. Similar in size to any of the other larger backdrop accessory pieces that come with figures. like bespin vaders columns or Bespin luk's weather vane etc. The Wampa with base and hunk of meat and Luke with the base and ice column. Seems simple to me.

jjreason
07-26-2003, 12:09 AM
I wonder if they might try a "screw on" plaque to hang Luke from, ToyBiz has been including these types of bases with their Marvel Legends and Spider-Man Classics for the past 3 years. It wouldn't have to be very big, that's for sure.

JediTricks
07-26-2003, 06:58 AM
They did make the suction-cup weather vane like Jargo mentioned, so it's possible that's what they'll do. I'm sure not expecting anything beyond each figure coming with small pieces of floor though.

Jargo
07-26-2003, 03:59 PM
I looked again at the pic of Luke and blew it up on my PC so i could see it properly and it appears to me as though the base is molded for Luk's feet to stick into. Perhaps we're maent to hold him upside down permanently? Or perhaps there will be a suction cup attachable to it. I'm hoping for an extra piece to click onto the base and make it a nice mini scene. But then i may not buy him and just buy that lovely Wampa in multiples and have a horde of them rampaging through my Echo base devouring the badly sculpted POTF2 figures willy nilly. Perhaps have Rieeken cowering behind his tactical screen using K-3PO and R-3PO as shields. With that Wampa I shall create carnage among the rubbish rebels.

God, some of them deserve it. Make sure POTF2 Han and that "counter culture" goateed Hoth Rebel Soldier get it but good - and the accessory set Rebel Trooper with his garish outfit should be drawn and quartered. Hoth has deserved better for some time, thank goodness we're getting better stuff soon.
