Here's the Hasbro Saga coverage: http://www.sirstevesguide.com/photo/showgallery.php?cat=698
Wow! Great stuff, I just got through editing the first batch. SirSteve is heading back to the floor to take more pics, I've given him a list of stuff to reshoot from different angles and such.
Once again, it looks like Hasbro got the 2 Imperial Dignitaries mixed up, there's a card in front of Janus Greejatus that says "Imperial Dignitary #2" while a different card is in front of the actual Imp Dig #2. Same boo-boo as SDCC, just in reverse I guess. I hope this doesn't lead to long-term confusion when the actual packaged figures come out.
Deluxe Wampa and Basic Luke Hoth look great and go together really well.
Obi-Wan Night Club looks really good, I just wish this had been out a year ago or more. The bar that interlocks with Elan (also show) is ok, I don't know if that's how mine will look though.
There's more to see really, check it all out.

I like R-3PO's body sculpt, it looks better than dlx C-3PO even.
Hoth Trooper and dlx Rieekan's faces look kinda off to me, it's the expressions and the eyes I think.
I don't see how dlx 3PO's escape pod will hold him AND R2, look at the interior shot, it's got detail in there, not an empty can, but there's not a lot of room.
Ayy Vida - I'm not a big fan of background female twi'lek figures, there's too many of 'em already for my tastes. Hey, at least this one is wearing undies... weird. :D That stool looks like trouble for perching her on, but I like how they gave her T-crotch hip articulation without making it look too funky.

Cool! Keep an eye out for SirSteve, he'll be in his SSG shirt.
BTW, the reason there are so many faces in these pics is because the con was set up so the line for Silver Fett wraps around the Hasbro case! Bleah, not a good setup for anybody who just wants to see the toys. They're working on getting that line away from the display, hopefully it'll help.

I will be in Los Angeles, where I am right now. :D I'm helping via the internet because I couldn't make it.
Steve will either be around Hasbro's area and maybe another SW licensee, or perhaps shooting pictures for figures.com which means pretty much anything toy-related. Or probably both, really.

I'm simply going to say that the new stuff is fine. And agree that this is what we should have had instead of action features. This is like POTJ quality and that is the standard I wish to see always. Why does kit Fisto have nipples if he's an amphibian? Why does the Wampa look like a teddy bear in a fright suit? I like both but they have odd looks about them. The nightclub bar sets are my favourites out of all the new stuff. Finally a decent Obi-Yawn. I'm glad I never wasted my money on all the resculpts we've had so far. This one figure will do nicely for all my Obi-Yawn needs. Elan Sleazebaggano is a fine looking figure. I shall seek him out like he was my key to nirvana. Rieeken looks good too. Hate R-3PO, Escape pod looks good, a few of those and it'll help in building a working Tantive IV - or not.
Like Durge's swoop but the clonetrooper one looks like crud. I just don't like seeing that design in the prequels era.
Mostly good then with some poo pieces thrown in for that hasbroken 'kwalitee' stamp we all know and love so well.

Why hate R-3PO?
I'm not partial to the CW dlx clonetrooper either, especially that missile-launcher, but I think your argument is more broad-based, correct? I mean, this speederbike is different in a few key areas from the Saga version, but your argument is even the Saga version shouldn't exist, yes?

I have to say these new figures look REALLY good in person. I was really impressed. Too much to say about all of them but if you get a chance to see them this weekend, you won't be let down!

What do you guys think of the Wampa cave "playset" specifically?
I think it turned out to be exactly what I expected and it looks pretty good for a micro-scene.
I really don't need this, as I bought the first-release stuff, but it looks so good that it's really tempting me.
Your thoughts on the Wampa?

Like I've said somewhere else he looks like a teddy bear in a halloween costume but as far as a hasbro toy goes it's pretty tippity top. The articulation on the chest looks good and the sculpt is a helluva lot nicer than the POTF version. The stalacmite/tite thingy looks good with sparkly crystal like paint job. I'm buying several of these guys to play with. They look like fun and as a bonus they come with half chewed carcass. Lovely!
JT, the speederbike in the purpley plastic on a deluxe saga card in my humble opinion shouldn't have been made either. It lessens the impact of the speeders in ROTJ I feel to have them placed in the clone wars timezone like this. Another design could have been used just as easily and looked a hundred times better because it would have been new.
On the other hand I'm pretty excited about Durge's rock'n'roll swoop. That's one badazz mofo swoop! That's gonna kick some undignified tush outside my Tatooine casino! :D Durge still looks like Masterblaster though...
And I hate the new threeio drids because they appear to be smaller than the POTF ones. Using the dlx pop apart threepio sculpt which is truly bad. If the final version is a taller figure and made of sturdier plastic than the bendy stuff we're getting mostly these days and if C-3PO will be chromed as he damn well should be and not some cheap glitter in the plastic nonsense to make him shine then i'll eat my words. But knowing how hasbro likes to cheap out at every turn I'm confident the droids will suck.

I like these all, they are very cool. However, I sort of wish R-3PO and Hoth Soldier would've come with better bases, not just black versions of the rehash figure bases. They're still cool and useful, though. :)
I can't tell from the pics - is Luke's saber metal? This one ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY NEEDS to be metal so the Force-grab scene can be done. I see it in the ice, which is sweet, but I can't see if it is metal or plastic.

those are great! i just wish they could be coming out earlier than november...i might find them by next summer...
h
I love all of it. Never could find a Wampa and this may be a second chance. I suppose Luke Hoth needed a redo though not as badly as Han Hoth. R-3PO was one I've been hoping for as its another scene-filler for Echo Base like K-3P0. Some more Power droids and R5-M2 would be nice now. General Rieekan...at long faffing last and I think he looks superb. And the control station will look really cool in any Echo base set-up. I wonder will we get an Ion Cannon at some point? Not if they call it a playset by the looks of it.
WOW. I just got back from Wizard World . . . Steve is right, these look incredible in person!
Well, not ALL of them (Durge  ) but I saw MANY figures that are calling me back to the hobby. :) Ack-med, Faytonni, BAIL FREAKING ORGANA, Sleazbaggano, Obi-Wan, General Rieekan, man they all looked so sweet in those display cases!
I think I love that Wampa, in fact I know I do. Yeah, he does have a goofy look in some of those pics but when I saw him, he was leaned over a bit with a bloody Tauntaun hock in his paw. Now THAT was cool ! :) And his face looked pretty cool in that respect.
Overall I think Hasbro had a nice little display going - 12" Garindan looked rather impressive on the bottom shelf . . . I saw lots of other stuff in there too but I can't remember now.
I didn't notice SirSteve there . . . . I wish I did.
EDIT: JT, that Paizo/Silver Fett booth was an absolute cluster bomb ! ! ! Luckily for me I had an angel looking out for me in San Diego so I didn't have to mess with that line. ;)

I was there, and I met Val Da Car, and several other SSG members. I was "volunteering" at the Piazo booth from 9:30 until almost 2:00 all three days. I was the one at the beginning of the very long line that wrapped around the Hasbro booth both Friday and Saturday. Sundays line was very short. I was dressed in my Stormtrooper armor Friday. Saturday and Sunday I was the Tusken Raider with the Imperial officers hat on. Someone told me that they had seen my picture in the events coverage area, but I have yet to find it. I do remember someone saying that they were taking a picture for their website.
I too, did not see Steve there, but then I probably wouldn't have recognized him if he was standing right under my nose! :D
As far as the new figures Hasbro is putting out, I think they look great. I really like the Wampa and the ice cave with Luke hanging there! I had to take most of the stuff in today, because I was in charge of the silver Boba Fett, line like I said, and then had to leave right after both Friday and Saturday for my evening job. I spent $70 on autographs, and I just kind of ran briskly over all the rest of the show to keep from spending any more money.
I'm tired, and I'm going to fall asleep tonight rather early.

Hey, I remember you now BobaFrett. On Friday when you were in the stormtrooper armor volunteering, I chatted briefly with you, and took a picture with you. It was when I was in the line about to get my Silver Fett, and I asked you where you got the armor.
I can understand if you dont remember being there were so many people there. :p Anyways for reference, I was a 15 year old male, short hair cut, thin(not bone thin lol), about 5.6, wearing a blue star wars t-shirt, with star wars on the front and what appears to be an old poster print for ESB on the back.
When I get the film developed I'll post it up here though. :)

Ayy Vida - I too think we have enough Twi'leks and don't share George's unnatural love for 'em. HOWEVER, that is the best female face likeness out of Hasbro to date - IMO.
Great looking crop coming out in the next 16 months! I'm also VERY stoked about the cartoon line. I have all of the Ewok line and most of the Droids line and can't wait for these! I hope they do a similar card which has a pic from the cartoon on the front.

Yes, that would be awesome Master Plo- Koon. I need to have the picture to refresh my memory. Friday and Saturday I must have seen hundereds of people. At times I couldn't even remember if people who had been in line, were the same people who were up buying figures. Talk about some short term memory! :D

The Predator guy is one of my fellow 501st troopers. He is really nice, but that costume really freaked me out the first time I saw him in it, especially with the noise.
