View Full Version : The Only Star Wars Character I Hate

Now the Star Wars movies are my all-time favorites, and I love and like all the characters within- except WA-7, the wairtess at Dexter's Diner. Now I appreciate why George felt the need to include this character in the scene. But an alien or a person would have been better because the waitress droid who rolls around on 1 wheel look so out of place. Here's why else...

1. None of the other droids in Star Wars roll around on a single wheel, they can't because there is nothing to hold them up!

2. "WANNA CUP OF JAWA JUICE!?!?!" - I hate that line! It makes my skin crawl everytime.

3. Jawa Juice? What the hell is that? Not that many people in Star Wars even like Jawas much less what to order a drink with their name on it!

I hate WA-7 even more than Greedo shooting first or fake Jabba from the ANH Special Edition. That's saying a lot. Therefore I'm definatly NOT buying the action figure, thats for sure.

Anybody else completely dislike this character?

I'm rather neutral on WA-7 but I dislike the fact that she says the human waitress' line even though we can still see the waitress' mouth moving in the background.

C-3PO is the only SW character I hate. :)

WA-7 seemed to be a throwback to the waitresses on roller skates from the fifties and sixties to me. She didnt really have an affect on me either way.

I have to agree again Caesar 3PO is highly annoying.

I don't mind C-3PO at all. I think he had way too much to do in the Droid Factory in Clones, that part should have been left out. But I think Threepio is essential in Star Wars. WA-7 definatly is not.

I just hate the Ewoks.
In fact, I love to hate 'em.

I hate Joh Yowza or whatever the heck his name is from the Max Rebo Band. I think that whole running up to the camera thing breaks the "wall" that exists trhough all of the films. It's kinda like Ferris Bueller talking to the audience or Ralphie throwing the audience a look in "A Christmas Story". That doesn't happen in any other place in the saga except with him and the new Sy Snootles. That whole sequence, to me, is now rendered unwatchable due to the reworking in the Special Edition. Joh Yowza also "ruined" my "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" experience because I now think that the Yuzzum are these goofy looking hedgehog things with rubbery limbs and NOT the fierce creatures that were portrayed in that book. :frus:

RIC-920 also has one wheel.

I see where you're coming from about the droid, but I wouldn't say I hated her. The only character I hate in Star Wars is Wat Tambor. How stupid it the whole 'adjusting knobs' thing. Why play around with them when he's in the middle of speaking?!?!?

The whole "Mel's Diner" homage was pretty out of place and could have been a bit more palatable without the "Flo" impersonation. But relative to other problems, I just look at that part of AOTC try to have the fun that George intended because none of it impacts the plot too much.

The only character(s) I really hate are Midichlorians. Sure, they don't say much and they don't get much screentime (which must drive their publicists crazy :crazed: ), but these guys are more out of place in the Saga than anything else I've seen (or not seen?).

San Hill is my least favorite. Poor animation, and he reminds me of the chicken lawyer from Futurama.

"Ah say, tha Bankin' Guild is purt durn near ready to lend y'all a helpin' hand, y'heah sugah?"

But yeah, WA-7 is close behind. I don't want to know how you get "Jawa juice." Maybe it fouls with your speech vocabulator and causes you to have to fiddle with stupid controls at random. Can you imagine if Vader did that in the Imperial conference room in ANH?

I took Jawa Juice to be a slang for coffee. I don't hate WA-7 because she was something unlike anything we've seen before in the SW movies, and hence expanded the vision that much more. I loved Poggle's voice for this same reason.

I think Wat was adjusting the knobs because he needed that equipment to even project a "voice". When he heard it cutting out, he tuned in. Simple. And cool sounding, too.

When Han, Leia and Chewbacca run out to the Falcon on Hoth, C-3PO looks at the camera and says "how typical." Just to remind you. ;)
I dunno, she's okay, I don't feel too strongly about her either way.

Jjreason is correct: I read some behind-the-scenes information that explained Wat Tambor is playing with the controls on his chest to fix the problem with his voice. It further describes his being rather embarrassed that it started to cut out like that.

WA-7 drives me crazy too. That voice, those lines, both have to go, and I'm sure I could be convinced to hold more against this character; just make a list and I'm on your side. The only pleasure I get from the entire diner scene is how much the outside looks like Dot's Diner from the ReBoot cartoon. Well, that's not true, I also get some ammusement from my friend Stephen leaning over after the line about Jawa Juice and asking me just how many Jawas you have to squeeze to get a whole glass.

Let's see the new music video interrupting Return of the Jedi, Jar-Jar Binks, Mel's Diner, C-3PO in the Droid Factory, and however many other scenes are all fine examples of George Lucas's taking time out from his movies to underwhelm us with CGI "magic."

There's little in Star Wars that angers me more than the idea that Greedo shot first. Given the impotent shot that missed Han by a mile at a range of little less than four feet, Han could have walked away laughing, so I think he's less justified in shooting Greedo now.

Me too. I thought she said Java Juice the first couple of times I saw the movie.

Has anyone mentioned that WA-7 looks like rosie from the jetsons? I think that's what is so troubling about her to me.
I'd say jar jar, but no point in beating a dead horse.

I hate the cartoon musical in rotj SE! UUGGGHHH

WA-7 reminds me of one of the robots from cyberbaseball for the original nintendo. what bothers me is the 'someone to see ya, honey' line. all other droids seem to refer to humanoids as master.

c-3po gets on my nerves throughout the movies, but that's his purpose in life.

the only character i hate from the original releases of the films is boss nass. the music video from ROTJ i don't count since it wasn't always there, ditto for ketwol. let han shoot first, bring back lak sivrak and get rid of that stupid song.

WA-7 is a little annoying, but I don't think she compares to that hogging spotlight freak Joh Yowza. That stupid tick only damaged the original Rebo Band music.

Yes, yes, yes! Down with Joh Yowza! He reminds me of that stupid "thing" from the Honeycomb commercials. How cold Lucas detroy the Max Rebo band like that?

WA-7 is annoying, but what if she does belong to Dex and he reprogrammed her? If he was going for a certain atmosphere in the diner, he could have decided to have her speak that way.

He watches "Alice" on TVLand? Wonder what the diner would look like if he was a fan of Soul Train? :D
