View Full Version : What do you think is really in AREA 51?

What's in there?

Maybe it's actually a secret resort for the high-ups in the millitary-industrial complex, and they don't want anyone to know they have a billion-dollar resort up there?

Maybe the aliens hang out there, too?

Sure, of course it's a testing ground for new high tech stuff. They need places for that. But I mean come on, if I saw a new spy plane, I'd be no security threat because I could describe the thing as being no better than "it's a plane. Duh."

Maybe they have remote controlled robot birds with cameras for heads that they don't want anyone to know about. Even if our enemies knew about them, what are they going to do - hire paramillitary bird watchers?

Well, I guess that's so unbelievable to the non-tech countries, that we could make realistic robot birds with micro-cams, that we should keep that secret if we could get away with that.

But what's really in AREA 51? Elvis?

I don't think it exists.

Episode III is being filmed there, don't you know?

I think it's just a testing site for top secret military planes and weapons.

Well, duh. It's the secret fortress of solitude for everyone's favorite obscure 1970s Marvel superhero, X-51 (AKA Machine Man).

Aliens, yes and of course they have disaters there. Such as 100 death casulaties. It is also the place where the computer originated from.

IF (and that's a big IF) the place DOES exist, I'd think that explosive-tipped-rocket-firing boba fett would be there, and toys in 3 3/4 inch scale that are fully functional and remote controlled.... MICRO TROOPS, FORWARD!!!!!

And yes, like Chux says, machine man would be there..... he's sorta like a marvel shazam, costume of a sentinel, origin of rom, legs of stilt man, popularity of kickers inc, and behind it all, the genius of Jack the King...
oh, sorry, off topic....

I think the original 1977, 1980 and 1983 versions of the Star Wars Trilogy are in there!

Actually, that would be Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa (the BAD Iowa school...)

It's where Hasbro developed their AWESOME ACTION FEATURES!!!

LOL Then we shall never see the original classics! NOoooooo!!

I don't know what they have, but back home near Dayton, the Wright Pat Air Force base is rumored to have the bodies of the aliens that crashed at Rosewell. :D

Well, you're right about him being obscure. I've never heard of him. :p

Fun facts about Machine Man

All facts about Machine Man are fun facts! Go pick up every comic he's ever appeared in. Aside from some guest appearances in books like Marvel Team-Up and Deathlok, they're barely worth the paper they're printed on!

(Not that that's a good thing. The guy really is awesome.)

Here's three images of X-51, alias Aaron Stack, alias Machine Man. First is from his original 1970s series (after the 2001 series he debuted in was cancelled), by the legendary Jack "King" Kirby.

Next, a Barry Windsor-Smith cover from an apocalyptic mini-series from the late 80s or early 90s.

And finally, the pencils (I believe by Joe Quesada) for a cover from a godawful series called X-51, where for no real reason at all, bad guys augmented poor Aaron with Sentinel technology, sent him after the X-Men, and doomed him to limbo for another decade.

Haven't any of you seen the Stephen Spielberg documentary "Taken"?!?!?

OK, seriously here is a bit of info about the REAL area 51:

April, 1955:
Lockheed test pilot, Tony LeVier, under orders from Kelly Johnson, searches for remote site to test the U-2. He finds Groom Lake and returns with Kelly Johnson and a representative of the CIA. Johnson decides to place the runway at the south end of Groom Lake. Work begins on the facility there under the direction of Lockheed Skunk Works. (1)

IF you ask me, anyplace with origins like this is nothing more than a test facility for Top Secret Military aircraft.

I agree, they just test Top Secret Military junk there and that's it. I'm sure it is also where they test captured foreign equipment for research on their capabilities. It sure would be cool to see what they have flying around in there. If they've had the SR-71 for 30+ years, imagine the capabilies now!

And it's also the place where they hide the rubber dummies with which they faked those autopsy videos. :p

Ooooohhhhhh, alright, now you're gonna get it man......
At 28.8 dialup speed, it should take me about 36 hours to lay the slow-motion smackdown of a lifetime on yer Dio-degradin' butt.... and if my connection goes down, I'll be back.......

Hmmmm.... actually, now's I think about it, the damage from the first boots will have healed by the time the last ones fall.... a SINGLE shot to the midsection could take an hour to connect....
Just watch the Dio insults, and thank goodness for crummy dial-up connections, fettfield :D
